His voice just oozes emotion. Starting with the first word "Hello ?" Jeff Lynne is an incredible talent!
One of my favourite songs since the 1970s.
What I like about it, aside from everything else about it, is the unbreakable determination of the narrator in the last verse - "...and let it ring for evermore". No surrender. No half measures.
Yep, I was hearing it back in the 70's. ELO was a large part of my soundtrack back then. Good music never dies. If you haven't already listened to their song "TIGHTROPE".
Yes Sally . Tightrope :)
People of a certain age understand the angst in this song. Before answering machines, before cell phones, before voicemail. Calling your girl or the girl you wanted to be your girl…..but no answer. What is she doing? Where is she?
It’s just an awesome song that makes me and my wife of 38 years both tear up to hear it.
When I was a teen I thought I was the only one listening to this music. I’d mention ELO and my friends would say “who ?” I’ve always thought Their music was great.
Jeff Lynne is a musical genius
" Evil Woman "
" Stange Magic "
" living Thing" 🤘✌♥️
YES!! ALL of the ABOVE!!☝ Jeff Lynne with or without ELO is worth it!!
Living thing for me is poop xd
Biz my friend , you were born 40 yrs too late. Your an old soul, who appreciates great music. In my youth we never lacked for great music and Uber talented artists. Thanx to you tube that music is reemerging
I think I was just so lucky to be born 1965 cause I got to hear all this great music though out my whole life from soul to disco to rock to metal torso and even some country !!!! It’s a big part of my life!!! Music just hits me in my soul!!! Takes me to a time fulled was good and some bad memories!!! I just love it!!!
I just love the way it melts back into the 'phone ring' in the middle.
46 years and this is still amazing!!!!
Showdown- absolutely gritty and sublime- a most different hit for them.
Also: they are E-L-O like the alphabet letters
Margie knows ☝️👍
Seriously....Showdown is sooo good.
Used in one of my favorite comedies, Kingpin. 🤙
No-one ever reacts to it. So annoying.
So 😍 it brings back the imagery of a real telephone ☎️
Man I love this song, it's probably my favorite ELO track. Evil Woman is another great song of theirs if you want to check it out.
there's no shortage for you to discover with these guys, Jeff Lynne is amazing!
Wish you would watch ELO's performance of this at Wembley Stadium!!!
Mind Blowing!!
😳🤯 I didn't see this one coming but I'm SOOOOO happy!!! Even though I was only 5 when this came out, I have VERY VIVID memories of the first time I heard it!!💯 Lyrically and sonically it's TOP NOTCH.... you can feel every word and note!!! Even as a very young child, this one hit me in such a deep way!! (what can I say... I'm an old soul??!!!!!🤷♀😅)
Anywhoo, just got home after working all day and evening so I got some stuff to do. I'm letting it play and I'll be back to rewatch and comment!! 🤗Just wanted to say.... GREAT pick Biz!!!!👊 Peace and light fam... 💞
🙌🏿🙌🏿🙏🏿
"Were all for real, not dream. (I just can't believe!), they've all faded out of view....."
pure emotion eluding from that powerful voice
Hey Biz, you hit gold!!
This Classic ALWAYS Filled The Dance Floor,, Electric Light Orchestra "Last Train To London"
They have an orchestra, guitars, keys, piano and more talent then most bands, love them. THANKS
Love ELO! Jeff Lynne has a great voice.
the way you pronounce E.L.O made my day. I needed a smile and you gave me one....... Thanks.
Lol
My most favorite song by the best band in the universe!
Be still my teenage girl heart. We definitely sat next to our telephones listening to this song. You're on fire with your reactions!
Incredible even 😊
Elo is awesome !! I saw them in concert in 2019 and they were unbelievable ! That ranks up there with seeing Pink Floyd with great music and visuals and just a great show….
You should watch the live from wembley stadium version of this… it’s even better than the album. Such a vibe ❤️
Great reaction Biz. Awesome to see you jamming to a song I love so much!
Don't Bring Me Down is a banger I think you'd dig. Peace bro ✌🏼
Are you kidding me? Another CLASSIC!!!
It could be their best. Showdown is great too, you're gonna love it!
Jeff Lynne totally underrated. Still sounds awesome to this day.....
You cant go wrong with E L O...any song is a must,,
One of the greatest bands ever. They don't have a bad song
Ooooof -- this one gets you in the feels .... a beauty ....
I share your love for this song. Musically, it's a masterpiece. I love the little doo-wop pre-chorus, the orchestration, all of it. The sentiment of the song is heartbreaking for all of us who have ever been "ghosted." Another song to check out that is equally heartbreaking in a similar way is "Sylvia's Mother" by Dr. Hook. Very different song, but equally heartbreaking.
Check out the live version of Telephone Live at Wimbley Stadium....it is so good. It is everything you described with the orchestra and lights. Jeff Lynne also played with The Traveling Wilburys in his latter years with George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, and Tom Petty. Their music is also something to get into. Great reaction to a great song from my youth in the 70s. Thanks!
That is E-L-O, so many great hits nice reaction. 👍
Watching reactions it's always so cool to hear these songs. Amazing how all the words come back aromatically, like an old friend! Takes me back for sure.
🥰🥰🥰
Great song! Haven't heard it for a bit. Very nice instrumentals, and vocals from the 70's.
I've been karaokeing this for a whole year
Man I thought I loved the song before but your reaction just kicked it up a notch!
Thanks for your reaction to a very under rated band! This song brings back so many memories.
One of my favorites! They are so unique. I saw them in concert. Fabulous! They are so versatile 😊
your reaction was great!:) you werent faking it grew up with this music and my head was moving the same way just listening:)
Glad you enjoyed!
Just for your enjoyment go watch their live Hyde Park concert. It's here on Y.t. It is unbelievably good. And you are correct, virtually every instrument you can think of is being used.
Great reaction / review!! Be safe man.
One of the best songs ever and the live version in wembley is im redible thanks for the reaction try ticket to the moon ah hell pick any elo track 😊😊❤
Great reaction! You get all of it! Right on point!
Oh, you are high as hell. Love your perception on this.
Such a fantastic reaction to a phenomenal song! I love how much you appreciate it. ELO has a big catalog of hits. Definitely worth a dive into in my opinion. Keep up the good work Biz, I enjoy your reactions so much
Great reaction! Some great suggestions in the comments. Here’s another one Mr. Blue Sky
💯 ELO has ALWAYS "brought it"‼🔥
"Telephone Line" is an amazing cut‼☮ ❤ 🎶
BizMatik I love how you put your WHOLE SELF into this incredible music‼It's crazy that you said, "what a workout" 'cause I'D JUST SAID IT‼Wild, huh⁉️
Great minds think alike; fools seldom differ. 🤯
ELO "Last train to London",Ticket to the Moon".
Jeff Lynne's voice Is just so lovely.
"Strange magic" ✨ is a must. They are the best group to me
This song will put you in a trance and it’s crazy.
You do a mighty fine reaction video. You do your best to feel it with mind and body, and the rest is up to the music. I hope that Jeff Lynne would see this to give him further perspective on what he has done for this earth and the people on it.
ELO is one class act. I loved their music back in the day, still do. If you enjoy ELO, then you Have to react to The Alan Parsons Project. Start with "Eye in the Sky", "Time", "Games People Play" and "The Turn Of A Friendly Card".... Believe me on this one! I think you will really enjoy The Alan Parsons Project!
btw: there is a great extended version called "Sirius/Eye In The Sky" which is an instrumental song (Sirius) combined with the song Eye in the Sky
Oooooh.... "Games People Play"!!!!! Another killer E.L.O. tune!!!💯❤
@@tinagilbert8902 Games People Play was actually an Alan Parsons Project song. LoL, I think I mentioned ELO so many times in my comment that it became the power of suggestion. Both bands are truly amazing, right!
@@l-bird 🤣😂🤣 That's freaking hysterical!! I have the same problem with Ambrosia and 10cc!!😅 Some groups just go hand in hand and kind of meld together... can't think of one without the other! lol!!🤷♀
I was honestly SO excited to see you mention the song "Games People Play" that I didn't even give the artist a second thought! lol! That song is SOOOO freaking amazing and no matter who the artist is... Biz NEEDS to hear it!!! It's truly an incredible and TIMELESS song!!! Man, aside from the sonic greatness/vibe.... the lyrics will always be relevant!! It's just part of the human existence (for those who actually give a damn about things anyway!!🙄) 🤦♀UGH!! Sorry, didn't mean to get so deep! lol!!😅🤣😂 GREAT suggestion!!!👊❤
@@tinagilbert8902 Yes, all well said!! Also, I agree about Ambrosia and 10cc... it is so true. Bread and America do that to me too, haha. Have a great day!
ELOs best song in my opinion. Gets me all nostalgic for a time that I wasn’t a part of. I just imagine roller skating to this 🛼
Great reaction!!
The drums are perfect on this song. Nothing fancy, but perfect.
💙 Telephone Line!!! Please react to E.L.O -Tightrope -Thanks!!!
Dam I was cracking up man coz you were saying what you be saying it just said it haha mate, solid 10, got its place on the mountain as the world, music has peaked when this biblical creativity of a song came to birth ya know
Beautiful lol
I'm staying in the 60s 70s. TX. Keep on rocking my friend
Saw the lads somwhere in the mid seventies in Brussels. Good show, although I remember little of it. Lots of smoke and cellos at the front and me going out to get more beer which made everything the more psychadelic. The beer was cold and the show was cool, so hey, who am I to complain, eh?
Biz….this is from the 70s, with no voice mails or answering machines and when you called someone you just let it ring like 10 times, hung up and tried them another time if they didn’t answer…in some ways I think life was more peaceful back then…
Check out 'Rockaria!', 'Waterfall', 'Fire On High', 'Concerto For A Rainy Day', and a lot more. Jeff Lynne's a genius.
Biz, thanks for reacting to this ELO masterpiece! But this is just your 3rd ELO song, so you've got some catching up to do, as brother Harri over at HarriBest Reactions recently did his *50th* ELO reaction! Next from ELO, I suggest their 1975 hit, *"Evil Woman".* (The studio version, just like you did with this song.)
Just love watchin' you kids lovin' the oldies!!! P.S. I'm 58.
Great song. Great reaction.
When I heard this it was a rap I listen to them ever since 76
Pronounced E. L. O. ✌ LOVE YOU.
Jeff Lynne has been referred to as the 5th Beatle .It really comes to light in this song.
This may be my most favorite song from E L O!!
I love how they they threw a little Doo-Wop into this song.
Los Lonely Boys "Heaven" (Official Music Video A MUST!!)
🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
The best album of
ELO is
ELDORADO
any song 🎵
Of this album will do the JOB
Try
🎵 the overture and > I can't get it out of my head 🎵🎵
Keep the good work Biz ✌
Love this song so much, first heard it in Billy Madison when I was like 8 😂
Jeff Lynne purposely carried on a Beatles vibe,A New World Record hit in jr. h.s and remains high on my list. I once heard a homeless dude play this between two buildings in St Pete, the beautiful sound was starkly different from his appearance. We became friendly and I'd hook him up with food from work in winter and all because of this song.
Aww Dennis! That’s beautiful! Good on you!
Loved it then, LOVE I T NOW !
One of my favorite songs.
Try Turn to stone...
Rocks out.
Hi!! Yes, this is a beautiful perfect song.
Next? I really suggest All Over the World 🙂
Regards from Chile!!
Great, great song
I think you got it. 😉 E.L.O. would be thrilled that, fifty years later, a tasteful black American guy would be digging their music so much.
Loved your passion!
🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
ELO - "All over the world".
Cheers
Biz do a dive into them. Lots af good tunes.
my favourite E.L.O song
Remember this day 13th birthday 1973 my first joint in this album brand new oh my God
ELO is out of this world!
Jeff Lynne is a musical genius. You should watch the flash mob version of 'All Over the World', which is a very happy song.
Biz, this whole album is fire, really...
You would really like "Tightrope ", which is the opening track to this outstanding Classic album, A New World Record.. same LP that Telephone Line is on.. thanks.
Soundtrack to my childhood memories.
Great reaction :) Good journey...Peace!
Love ELO ❤️🔥should watch the live @ Wembley 2018-2019. Called know Jeff Lynnes ELO.
My favorite song from E L O
Beautiful! :)
this is worth an album review.
Depressing masterpiece
Hello..... greatness!
I do believe Paul McCartney of The Beatles gave them high praise and called them the next coming of the Beatles or something to that effect
