Your videos really lit a fire under my ass to get prepared. Got my first IFAK put together and started my Stop The Bleed education, which was really easy for me because its stuff I already learned while in the army some 3 decades ago. The fact I retained that knowledge was a coup for me.
Keep going man your videos are great you inspired me to go into the St John ambulance cadet force and it’s the best thing I every did your videos keep me happy every week and I love watching them, keep up the great work man
I’m becoming a dad soon and starting to take medical preparedness more seriously and your channel has seriously been a massive help. Thank you for all the work you’ve put into these videos.
I'm intrigued by the plethora of kit styles on the market these days, and how companies are trying to gain market share by coming up with new combinations of supplies to differentiate kits for specific purposes. My taxable-income gig is as a security officer at a facility with production staff and tour guides and tour guests in various combinations, and the security team is tasked with being front-line first aid providers (among other things). As such, we already have a kit bag that has supplies for multiple injuries (although it only has one TQ, and it's an import replica of a good one, so I'm reluctant to use it), so this kit would be kind of superfluous for my work site. The facility also has a dedicated first aid station with a commercial (Cintas) cabinet of bandages and OTC meds and salves and such. The company realized that it needed to supply a range of gloves beyond the "one size fits some" bit. At least two of the security team members have outsized hands, for example.
I will keep out of the comment with the snarky attitude. :) I have a same/similar one at my desk. Businesses have mandatory first aid rooms and kits but they can be a good distance away. Nice to know it is there along with whatever I might have on me. Though the SWAT T and the Esmark seem to be redundant. Also I think you caused the kits to be sold out on their website. :)
Do these kits have a shelf life or can they be stored indefinitely? Your channel and content is great, may God bless you with many more years of service. ✝️🇺🇲👍
Keep your items after 5 years and use them for training/extra SHTF stock but rotate new stuff into your IFAK. You could probably donate your expired items to a stop the bleed instructor and take a class@@jamesa7506
I know I'm a month late and not prep medic but I'd look into the k.i.s. med kit from guerilla tactical, it's Iwb concealable and with a snakestaff etq in another pocket it is a basic but effective ifak option
Thank you for the review! Any chance you wanna send me all the gear now that it’s opened?? 😂 jp but I did gasp every time you ripped something open. I need to go through all your videos again, but do you have a kit you’d recommend for backpacking or hiking? Probably something with a Sam splint, or I guess I could just toss that in along with this? Either way, thanks for the video like always!
"....on your bike..." I literally keep a small kit, specifically major bleed, in my beach backpack chair. It would be **that** day that someone, or me, gets sliced by a surfboard fin, or compound fracture in the surf, or... shark bite, that it'll be needed and not be around. My fear is: my demise will be i'll be randomly sliced by a surfboard fin and bleed out.... :( Literally weighs nothing, takes up less space than a book, and it just sits there...in my beach chair.
Ah, yes, a perfect med kit for your Desk. We all know how dangerous a desk job is. Pointy pens stabbing you, heavy Computers flying against your head, hot Coffee giving you 3rd degree burns, Printers malfunctioning and violently attacking the staff, etc. You really need a kit in the office with which you can control a critical bleeding, treat an open pneumothorax and treat other severe trauma injuries.
Yeah, I get the snark. That said, I agree that it could have been called something other than "Desk Kit." Or people could recognize that there are all sorts of "desks," from "cube farm desk," to "receptionist desk," or "security desk," where the latter are closer to a building entry point and the person stationed at such a desk might be tasked with being on-site first aid to help a victim until EMS arrives.
You are special aren't you? Realize that the concept of staging stuff he mentioned. Since you obviously work in the basement behind lead and concrete doors. The rest of us enjoy not having to tote a wagon everywhere we go
@@thomasarmstrong9327 for someone at the security desk this is the wrong kit. For that I'd rather use a kit you'd prolly call a "booboo-kit" plus an AED, as this covers the emergencies occurring in that area better. Something like the german DIN norm 13157 (which is mandatory in public facilities here, btw). Chances are that a child or older person falls down, or that someone has a heart attack. Even for a fall down a set of stairs, chances are the booboo kit is more helpful as you rather have intermediate instead of critical bleeding, where only a normal pressure bandage is needed. And for brain or spine damage this desk kit won't help much anyway. This kit is more for really bad trauma like combat wounds (which tend not to happen much in civilization), road accidents or maybe on a construction site.
@@LexPena well, since desks are usually in a low risk environment you don't need such a kit. It's not about the desk itself but rather about the office...
All I can think of:
“Hey Terry, I did my first desk pop!”

11:48 every ambulance that's clapped out and at the end of life is held together with that stuff.
Damn facts!!!!

Hi Sam , just to let you know Refuge Medical Desk Kit Is SOLD OUT , 0130 10/23/2023 But Bear try to get them in as soon as he can. Nice review .
This might be a good kit to throw in a car trunk or range bag too. I definitely like your refill kit idea.
Excellent review

I only buy from Refuge Medical
Lol i got a prep medic ad on your video
I would remove some of the redundant compression items and add a burn kit.
HALO chest seals are the best.

They do have a shelf life. It kind of depends on how you store it but 5 years is a normal amount of time

What type of kit do you recommend for a person who wears a suit everyday? (Capability/printing/cost)

I'd rather have coban over the second elastic bandage but that's just me.
If you don’t have gloves, what’s the chance of the victim’s blood passing on a disease to you?
If your skin is intact? Almost zero as far as blood bourn pathogens are concerned.
Do you just throw away the stuff after the video? I don’t have any ifak or medical kits, I’d be willing to buy it instead of you throwing it away
Super
Get some.
They mostly buildout there kits with shooting and stabing/puncture wounds in mind.. disgruntled employees perhaps.. hey it happens.. sadly

Yes because these emergencies don't ever happen near a desk ...we should install desks to save lives.
