KEEP IT UP KING
Attack on Titan overrated?!?! You're a brave man
Takashi san how can someone email or contact you
Nobody said anything about Gintama. A fun action pact anime that has a story development of the characters. The voice actors made it all that it was.
Love how people’s eyes light up when they describe their underrated anime!
people watch all shit overhyped animes like naruto and bleach but those people have never seen idaten jump.. the god level anime of all time..
@@vineeth5675 I respect ur opinion but Bleach is not even overhyped , if it is anything it is rather overhated tbh compared to it's other partners from the big 3, i can have indeed watched idaten jump and it is truly goated

As an honorable mention, I would say that Monster is a very underrated anime... there is nothing like it; the mystery, the music, the characters, the historical ambience... and I really like mainstream animes like one piece, naruto etc but monster its just another vibe
Monster is the best anime ever created. Whoever says it isn't doesn't enjoy the art
I'm half through it and I'm loving it!
@@tourami4802 I would disagree, having read the manga first I'm not just some mindless hater but while it is pretty different to the majority of the slop put out, it still has its flaws and I don't really think transcends the medium in a way that would allow it to take the crown.
Never seen anyone say anything against Monster. Are you sure you're not confusing underrated for underwatched?
Naoki Urasawa is one of the best if not the best mistory/thriller manga writer of all time.
He is the Stephen King of manga.
Glad to see Takashii and his channel grow. His English is getting very good.
Yeah I noticed too he seems so much more comfortable with English.
Wow, I’m here in Jamaica watch a clip from Japan and just saw a classmate who was like one of the first anime fanatic I knew. It’s awesome to know what he loved he got the chance to be in the space that is the creation of it all. Bless up Dacres. Good youth.
in terms of underrated anime, more people really need to watch Golden Kamuy.
I've heard its popular in Japan, to the point where the anime has four seasons already, but nobody in the west talks about it, and that's a shame! it's a bizarre action/adventure treasure hunt, historical anime, and cooking show, where all of our lovable characters are either war veterans or criminals... and it juggles every part of that so smoothly, for a truly chaotic mix that goes down super easy. it can pivot on a dime between humor, high intensity action, and legitimately meaningful character work, and legitimately no part has ever left me bored. and it only gets better as it goes on, as well!
I think it probably didn't get as much attention because it chose a fairly unique part of Japan's history to be about (the tail end of the Meiji era, heading into the Taisho era) and it has a large focus on the ainu, who are a native cultural group in Japan... which could make the story a little unfamiliar, or unrelatable to western audiences. but it teaches about these things so well, that it's honestly a huge shame that more people haven't given it a chance.
I also think the pacing is done well, but unconventionally. the first season kind of melds into the second season, giving us two seasons that feel more like one long 24 episode season. if you're expecting the first season to have a big finale, you might end up disappointed... but the finale of season 2 pops off extra hard to make up for it, and I think it can do that because it had all that time in which to set itself up. everything from season 1 is kind of introductory, but then seasons 2, 3, and 4 only get better and better as they go.
idk if people are just not giving it enough of a chance, but the plot is actually amazing, and even season 1 won't leave you bored. if you can make it to the episodes with Henmi and Ienaga, the show will very much stop being normal, and it never looks back.
i had forgotten about this one, i started watching when it was released but than never got the chance to finish it, thanks for reminding me of it
@@gray7even61 you are absolutely welcome! Golden Kamuy is one of my favorites, it's so much fun. ^_^
Haven’t watched it all yet but definitely will finish it someday. Great anime for sure
@@HitchyBruh agreed, I think it's at least the best at the specific things it's doing.
Yeah bro
Man, no mention of Death Note? I loved the characters, ideas, and plot. It's one of those things that makes you think, "what would I do?" Which is rare even in cinema.
I am in center of video waiting for some one to say the name of death note. You break my heart.😢
Dororo is most underrated ANIME if you watch it you know.
Plzz recommend me any good anime.
Death Note is usually the one recommended to non anime fans, to get them started. Very good show!
I was just about to comment that, how come no one mentioned Death note? It does fall off a bit in the second half, and the ending was also very forced and such, but still, I think besides One piece, it's the best anime I've watched until now. The fact that nobody mentioned it is such a shame.
@@araizaraiz5788 i'd recommend Ajin, not met many who have seen it, and the ones i have met usually say they don't like the visual style. but it is incredibly interesting with some of the best action scenes i've seen
Tbh, I feel like it's a bit overrated.
Bro said Jujutsu Kaisen is overrated bc its too complicated but then says Re:Zero is underrated lol. Don't get me wrong they're both amazing but Re:Zero is way more complicated.
yea its cause even gege akutami has confused himself or missed up when explaining his character abilities in the manga, in the volumes he'll have an editors note chapters later saying "btw back when i said this turns out i was off" lol but i think the narrator part is normal for battle shonen. they always gotta explain their abilities a bit
He doesn’t understand the techniques, domains, or any of the other technical stuff that’s involved lol.
@@Redd_Psycho14I like JJK and I don’t get that shit either tbh
And bro was upset with having a narrator while most of the animes has a narrator xD
Jjk is Def overrated imo
Bungo Stray Dogs is a certified banger. That and Log Horizon are my deep cut reccomendations to people.
Log horizon is THE TRUTH, a lot better than SAO...
And season 1 opening for log horizon... is straight up 🔥🔥🔥🔥
It doesn't compare to kingdom S3 🤤
BSD i tried watching it again. But i always end up, dropping it after season 1. From the synposis of the other seasons i will stay with season 1 and never watch the rest😅
Bungo stray dogs is alright i see what they are going for its very ambitious but i feel the writer bites of more than he can chew it does have plot twists but its constantly the same plot twists and A-pulls to write their characters out of situations.
Overall i like the charactera and a lot of the ideas in the show it only falls short in writing and execution.
ABSOUTLY!!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH
Season 1 of KuroShitsuji or Black Butler is also one of the greatest emotional roller-coasters in anime I have seen.
The screenplay, the writing and the voice acting, are all beyond par. And then, there is the music! Just marvelous.
While I love black butler to pieces I have to ask do you really think so?? Cause the only canon eps of season one are 1-6 and 13-15. Basically just 9 eps for season one. While yes it certainly is great but such emotional rollercoaster I have not experienced there. I had more emotions in play in season 3 book of circus. I was constantly in denial if I should feel bad for the circus people or not.
@@_Minos I haven't seen or read circus. But Black Butler's Season-1 from its beginning to the end was the perfect contained story since it had almost all the emotions known to humans wrapped within, in a very beautiful way.
@@akhileshiyer296 ..........You do you. But just do not bother to watch season 2 cause the whole season aint canon. Skip that one and continue with book of circus. If you decide to continue with black butler that is.
@@_Minos I started watching season 2 and it was abysmal 😂
It was so bad that I didn't even bother looking for more. But now that I know there is more canon in the series, I will read the book of circus.
Thank you for letting me know about it.

Don't often comment but I had to drop by and say; BASED picks for your underrated and favorite animes. Not enough people know about Hokuto No Ken, it's a classic! Also Slam Dunk is incredible.
Takashii woke up today and felt like pick a fight with anime fandoms😂😂
The fandom are passionate. I tend to notice the younger fans tend to lean toward Attack on Titan. The older fans don't like it as much as them. I think it's a great anime but the best? I don't know. This is coming from a guy who has watched anime for several years
At least he didn't wake the Sub v. Dub monster.😙
Vinland Saga.
I did NOT expect it to be so good. I was blown away. Animation and story are top notch.
Season 2 focuses on story and can get you emotional. It can get very heavy at times, but it is well worth it to watch both seasons.
RIP to everyone who didn't finish s2 because there wasn't enough fighting. Truly a masterpiece.
@brianjuice agreed. Season 2 was beautiful.
Yup
Season 2 took everything good from season 1 and added some of the most powerful and beautiful scenes in anime history
Also season 2 is where Thorfin starts to become one of your favourite MCs if not your most favourite.
the SAO guy is brave to say its underrated.
I haven't watched it myself, but I've heard that it set up the characters and their relationships beautifully in the first season and then proceeded to completely ruin them in the following seasons.
@@Amins88 true honestly. The first 12 episodes are actually amazing - i was watching it as it aired back in 2012 then it fell off hard. Apparently it picked up again later on but by the time it did I wasn't interested.

It's certainly not your typical anime and is actually pretty dark. It starts out in such a way that seems as though nothing is related, but the way everything ties up in the end is so satisfying! And only 13 episodes!

I agree with some of them saying that Demon Slayer overrated but I think we need to give credit where it's due rather than only focusing on how bad it can be. Personally, I like Demon Slayer for its simple to understand story and beautiful animation and music. I've been used to so many complicated stories that I start to genuinely appreciate the simple yet beautiful stories like Demon Slayer. Not every story needs plot twists or needs a complex story. I think Demon Slayer told a decent story with a meaningful message to the audience to cherish your family and friends and to live in the moment. Its a pretty good beginner anime in my opinion. Again, it's overrated and put too high on the pedestal but it still doesn't deserve the hate or rep on how "bad" Demon Slayer is. It stands on its own for being a good anime with amazing animation, beautiful music, and decent story with meaningful messages from the author.
Everyone brought some good arguments to the table. Love Yuyu Hakusho and Cowboy Bebop. Evangelion too, of course. People are so passionate about anime, wow!!
I’d be interested to hear Japanese opinions of anime-influenced western animation such as Dragon Prince, Castlevania, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Edgerunners, and others.
Edgerunners isn't Western animation though. The series was created by the Japanese studio Trigger.

It honestly has everything (including a lot of issues).
Great world, characters, animation, Plus a ton of twists.

it's nice to find many different views and interests about Animes. the anime fans can actually like or dislike any animes objectively on their own wish
Some people think AoT is just about humans fighting titans. They dont understand the complexity of the story and how many aspects of it are actually related to events happening in our world right now. It´s a shame some people can´t see beyond the action because the story is definitely the best part of this anime, and as I said, if you are aware of what's going on in our world this anime will make you think and will make you reflect, but I guess some people prefer animes that are easier to understand and that is ok.
They the kind probably think sao has better character development and story.
Those people dont brain much
The problem with AoT is that the story only becomes complex after two seasons with the discovery of a new continent. The first two seasons are at best average shonen anime with a dead inside main character. This is why most people drop anime after 2 seasons.
@@KyotoKitawaza The foreshadowing was always there, that is an excellent story through and through. I would also have to disagree that the story wasn't complex. The whole notion of the titans themselves were complex because there was so much mystery shrouded about where they came from and what they were, as well as the "key", and the traitors "homeland" and where that was. Those types of mysteries and many more is what keeps people invested and those mysteries are intertwined in the overall story. After those 2 seasons is when the mysteries gets unraveled and questions are answered. Anybody who drops AoT at that point was never invested in the story to begin with, because it is very story heavy from the very first episode.
@@firestriker6846 I cant agree with this. I dont certainly remenber from wich serie is it, but when they go to the village to see relatives of one of hunters. They will found on their house dead titan, with is suspeciously similiar to one of the siblings at the photo. In this moment i realiazed that, the titans are the humans and it was bunch of episode before finding true in the cellar. So for me personally story in AoT is not that complex, especially in the first two seasons. But in the general if anime is overrated or not doesnt matter. Only side of good anime is if you enjoyed or not.
@@KyotoKitawaza It was the 4th episode in the second season, and the Season 2 only had 12 episodes. The titan in question was Connies mom and she was alive on top of their house, although the village was empty the horses were still there. At that point we understood they were humans, but nobody knew how a human got transformed into a titan and why they were transformed. What the purpose of all of this was and who was really behind it. Still so many questions not answered at that point. I don't know, think if we lived in a world like that there would be so much in common that if these things were real these would be actual things we would wonder for survival. Because this is a survival anime I understand where they are coming from at that point of view. But yeah, if you enjoy anime is really the only thing that matters because we all watch anime for different reasons, so our perception of what we like about it will be different too.
in my opinion really underrated animes are bungou stray dogs and durarara!!, especially durarara!!. i have never seen someone talk about it in watching these kind of videos in the alst 10 years, but when i look at the ratings it has an astounding 8.1 in MAL. i guess people just forgot about it after watching for some reason
I watched durarara when it aired, it was fairly popular but forgotten over time(similar to darker than black, guilty crown, mirrai nikki, steins gate, belzeebub, deadman wonderland, hyouka, D grayman, bakuman), and i ended up dropping it midway cuz it's so boring, instead I watched other seasons and it was OK anime (definitely does not deserve 8.1 rating in MAL) Baccano on the other hand is WAY superior to Durarara as it was short and compact non over stretching the plot than required.
So what anime do you think is overrated!?
Overflow at first I enjoyed it but nowadays people overrated it 😒

sorry I meant these are underrated: Initial D and the new MF Ghost
Demon Slayer is the most overrated I've ever seen.
I agree with One Piece. I watched over 100 episodes to try to get into it, but I couldnt take the boredom.
It's even worser with me. I watched nearly 500 eps (like an 1d1ot) constantly waiting for it to get better, but that better never came.
Remove all extended standoffs filler and recaps/ intro one piece have 250 ep at max
Knew AoT was loved but didn’t realize how much.
7:25 A man of culture. He knows that life is more enjoyable with Slice of Life anime.
K-On, Non-non Biyori, Silver Spoon, etc. are my all time favourite. I could watch even after 10 years and they'll be still as heartwarming as ever.
FACTS life as a moe/shoujo/romcom enjoyer is simply better
@@HanabiiiUwU Can't argue with that as well. You've got my respect.
Yuru Camp and Place Further than the Universe too.
Have you watched Azumanga Daioh? GOAT imo
@@Innuya I've bookmarked it but haven't watched it yet. Do you have any suggestions on how it's going to be?
Monster and Serial Experiments Lain are some of my favorites. Attack on Titan is really great and popular for good reason. I also love the wackiness and plot of JoJo's Bizzare Adventure.
On that same note, Ergo proxy is extremely under rated
Lain was a classic. My late wife adored it and got the boxed set. "Present day.......PRESENT TIME!!!"
Yes I’m surprised no one mentioned jojo, it’s awesome
Damn, no love for classic OVA’s? Personally I wish younger interviewed some older people who have seen Ghost in a Shell, Perfect Blue, Akkra, etc.
I recommend Akira, Ghost in the Shell movies the first and second one, the G.I.T.S. TV series Stand Alone Complex 1.0 and 2.0. Also Full Metal Alchemist and Haibane Renmei. If you're into slice of life anime check out Lucky Star, K-On and Bocchi the Rock. If you're into Yuri anime check out Sasameki Koto, Strawberry Panic, Aoi Hana and Yuri Yuri. If you're into hyper masculine anime check out First of the North Star. I also recommend Cowboy Bebop. For Fan Service go see Dears and Girls Bravo. Yuru Yuri. I'd forgot Burn up Scramble and Shoujo Sect.Serial Experiments Lain is good.Ranma one half is good too. I'm a RWBY fan also. Koi Kaze is another critically acclaimed anime.
Why do some people say anime having simple story is bad 🤦♂️ why do you need a plot twist all the time in every story. The execution is also important. In my eyes Demon slayer is a simple story which is brilliantly executed ❤️🔥 It is definitely not the greatest story but it is definitely one of the most entertaining.
thats what i think too, i love the story and everything about it is good, to the characters, the story, animation
Not bad, but it's very ordinary, so it's not wrong if anime like demon slayer it's considered overrated because it can't be considered a masterpiece just like a common anime nothing special about it
Demon slayer is just typical of popcorn film you know what i mean? It's still overrared, even for kind of shonen anime it's still bad
What I really don't like about this anime is that it doesn't make sense why MC is having a power up. It's just a generic "I need to save my sister" type of power up. No world building and the anime story only rotates at the Main Characters.
@@joshuabalindres2333 But unlike other anime Tanjiro became get the most powerful character in the show. He always gets assistance from others. Demon Slayer also gives other characters more importance. Just look at the Hashiras and even characters like Yoriichi. It's always a team effort. Also the most cliche reason for an anime MC to gain power is just to become the centre of attention. Like Naruto or Luffy they just want to be strong to conquer the world that's it. So demon Slayer broke that cliche and everything Tanjiro does is to save his one and only remaining family. Also Tanjiro is not the chosen one in the show like other anime where the unknown MC is actually the chosen one destined to save the world. All power ups he acquired throughout the course of time made sense to me unlike other anime. I don't understand why you call it a cliche then. Even while gaining a power up in a crucial moment like when he decapitates Akaza he never won the fight, Akaza killed himself and that's where the anime respects other powerful characters in the show. Even against Muzan none of his attacks would have been effective if it wasn't for Tamayo. So this is another example where he gets assistance from others in the show. The story is happening from the perspective of Tanjiro Sometimes that's it they don't ignore other characters like in other shonen. Because in most shonen anime many characters will have no screentime in the final battle because it will be a MC vs Villain showdown but not in demon Slayer.
Boruto is not overrated - we all think it’s shit don’t we🙃
Boruto is better than your favorite anime

Awesome video Takashii! Thanks for the upload. It is nice asking people around to hear their opinions of most overrated and underrated anime. I'm considering watching some of the anime that was mentioned to be underrated from them. Gives me a list to watch lol
My favorite underrated animes would have to be D.Gray-Man and Claymore. D.Gray-Man is very unique in its storytelling/world building and characters and the powers used. Claymore although its ending was cut shorter than its manga I think is really worth watching if you like something similar to Berserk.
D Gray man is a classic
Love D.Gray-Man, still reading the manga
oi! I love that Hanafuda shirt! wait, AND Fist of the North Star?? I used to read those comics when I was a kid in like 1994!
Dorohedoro is my choice for underrated anime. Great characters, beautiful art and vibrant colors, cool dystopian sci-fi story.
That's the very definition of a fun anime
It's one of my favourite anime but I disagree kingdom is far more better n is underrated aswell.
Me screaming this from the inside of my cage

I did the Leo DiCaprio meme when I saw him. Max (thanks description box) has been seen before on Japanese tv and on other youtube channels, including his own.
Dragonball and Ranma 1/2 are my favourite. I love Lupin the 3rd as well. Classics. I have not even tried newer animes like one piece or attack on titans. I mean i read the first ten volumes of one piece and thats it. All Miyazaki's work with studio Ghibli is AMAZING. Well drawn, great story telling. Oh and i like "Your name" sort of ranma half esk with the change sex, just was fun and adorable.
Ping Pong the Animation is definitely an underrated (or at least overlooked) anime.
For anyone looking for a short and sweet anime to watch, I'd recommend it. While it revolves around Ping Pong, the main focus is definitely on the characters and their own development throughout the story. You definitely don't need to know much about Ping Pong to enjoy it. As someone who used to compete at a somewhat high level (in videogame tournaments, not ping pong), the emotions some characters go through definitely resonated with me more personally.
Not a frequent consumer of anime. Couldn’t get into Demon Slayer. And infinite episodes that stretch out over season after season after season without any sort of closure are a huge turn-off. Favorite of all time remains the original Super Dimension Fortress Macross…growing up watching cartoons that were essentially toy commercials here in the U. S., it was my first animated exposure to both long-form storytelling and impermanence of main characters. “Robotech” (as it was called here) will always occupy that top spot due to that emotional resonance.
6:27 Let him cook now, Re:Zero will always have a special place in my heart ❤️. Rem is the best waifu.
Real
I Love Silver Spoon,Super Cub,K-On,
Yuru Camp
I’ve been having a hard time finding silver spoon manga in stores but I’m looking forward to starting it. I just finished the anime for Yuru Camp though and loved it!
Why no mentioned Gintama 🤔🤔
My favorite! Gintama is amazing
Gintama is Dragon Ball daughter's top anime
Gintama would most likely be mentioned if he also interviewed people who grew up in Japan. Probably also shows like Golden Kamui and the Monogatari series.
No mention of Non Non biyori, Barakamon, Welcome to the NHK, Maison Ikkoku, Vinland Saga, Parasyte, The apothecary Diaries, Frieren, Steins Gate, Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2, Sket Dance, Gintama, Ashita no Joe, Great Teacher Onizuka, Hajime no Ippo, Initial D, Planetes, Urusei Yatsura, Death Note, 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
My favourites are 1 (Reincarnated as a slime) 2(The Eminence in Shadow) 3(Every Dragon ball) 4 (Overlord) 5( Soul Land ) 6(One-piece) 7(Naruto) 8(Pokemon) 9( How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom) 10(Skeleton Knight) 11(One Punch Man) 12 ( TSUKIMICHI -Moonlit Fantasy) 13 ( Mushoku Tensei) 14 (Sword Art Online) 15 ( Knight's & Magic) 16 (Trapped in a Dating Sim) 17 (Log Horizon) 18 (Re-zero ) 19 ( How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord ) 20 ( Gate ) 21 (DRIFTERS) 22( Food Wars) 23(Initial D) 24 (Berserk), etc maybe l have to many favourites I quit 😂
Isekai fan spotted
@@Sheikhazaraa I was caught 😂 I love me a good isekai
I hardly hear people mention it, I think it might be an American Anime, but Afro Samurai got me properly into dark and bloody anime with amazing fight scenes, I think the story is so simple, but so interesting
No1 headband can only be challenged by the No2 headband
But No2 headband gets challenged constantly by everyone
These are indeed opinions 😊
I like Deadman Wonderland but idk about all that hahahaha
Love that you have the same take as me AOT loses me at the breaking of time. When the MC knows the past present and future so it breaks the mystery of the world building for me.
It takes the seriousness out of the story
I agree.
It's a good shock to the story, but I do not enjoy it.

My favorite anime of all time is Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. The characters, the music, the stories, the plot. Wow. I still watch it a few times every year and learn new things about it😅. And much later i found out that it was the top rated anime and still is today. Just super top. I also like bleach and i think a lot of great short episodes animes r underrated. Oh i was forgetting d gray man, the first batch, so underrated. Its a great anime and people should watch and talk more about it.
Fist of the North Star is an amazing anime! My personal favourite for that time would be 3X3 Eyes
Takashii , totally agree with you about Fist of the Northstar.....
I suppose it was in that time frame of Akira and all , which I thought was a hard watch especially the ending . It just didn't do it for me . But then I saw "Fist..." and another that I think was really great "Vampire Hunter D" . Because I'm old-school and old , lol , 54, those are my favorites .
Am just thirty but these r one of my favorites too😊
Great taste !!! 😎🤘
Mine favorite animes/mangas are Ashita No Joe and Hokuto No Ken. They are old but very good. Hokuto No Ken will be made a new anime. I hope that will be well made like JoJo Part 3.
For me, the last good anime/ manga that was good is Rurouni Kenshin. Only Death Note, Initial D and Hajime No Ippo are good, after Kenshin, to me.
Favorites : Ruroni Kenshin, Re:Zero, Attack on Titan, Code Geass, Sakura Cardcaptors and Gundam Seed! overrated: My hero Academia (too repetitive)
Princess Mononoke was my first experience with anime as a child and I was hooked.
Dear TAKASHii from Japan ,
17:07 this is the moment I fell in for you 😂😂😂😂😂
Wrote some for watch later - thanks. Code geass and rah xephon r nice to watch also 😊 attack on titan i was watching with open mouth 😅 tower speakers were bumping all the night and i didnt care - music awesome ❤
Hajime no Ipo also very underrated if u like boxing must have
fr its so funny and the romance is very good for how little there is.
Love Hajime no Ippo. When Takamura fights Brian Hawk, I knew it was unlike anything I have ever seen. It felt like a real fight. I remember chanting Takumara in my room. That's how invested I was. My big gripe is that they didn't continue the anime. That's a crime to viewers. It should have continued
@TheDumontShow the Manga have over 1000 chapter you should check it out if you liked the anime
Deadman Wonderland!!! Nice!!! ❤
Please do more of these videos i LOVE them!
Thank you.
Tbh bro my first anime was aot and its my fav
