Belinda Carlisle tiene una energía que eleva el alma. Su música es un canto enigmático para los sentidos. Sintonizas con su música y te hechiza como un flechazo.
Just in case you'd like to know, anyone out there, I originally got this song from the "Tame Yourself" cassette tape(surely available on CD also) in approximately 1990 or so. "Tame Yourself" was done as a benefit compilation for PETA. Just in case you want to know where it was recorded originally. The days before MP3s. I remember being very impressed with this and that back then. I just now happen to click here on this video clip today seeing this song clip for the 1st timeon UA-cam. Blessings!
13th C, I've read many other books also, such as books on near-death experiences, Guideposts reading material, even books and quotes from other religions, etc. I feel that you don't have to be scared. You can believe you have lovely creatures around you, and there is not just the Bible but a lot more to give you hope and inspiration and joy in life. Wishing you wellness and happiness and a more positive & true heavenly outlook in your path in life, blessings to you!
For a Belinda song, this still shows 80's damage in its production, but it's better than most. It's not overloaded with gimmicks that her producers insisted on.
i'll give belinda credit and having the guts to do a song originally done by the one and only karen carpenter, one of if NOT THEE greatest female pop singer of the 20th century.. however, of course the reality is that this version can't remotely come close to the original.. not just because belinda's voice just can't touch karen's (who can/could?!) but because her singing and the musical arrangement TOTALLY IS NOT IN SYNCH WITH THE words and meaning of what the song is about in the first place! that is one reason why KAREN CARPENTER WAS PERFECTION! no other singer could infuse and not only sing a song, but TELL THE STORY OF a song, any song like her!..
Well we all have our ideas who is the best female singer, but I think we have to consider more than vocals. For me Kim Wilde, Bangles and Sandra are the best 20th century singers, because their material is consistently brilliant, and in Kim's case, so many song subjects covered than just the usual "I love you" stuff every woman throws out. But Belinda isn't far behind them, along with Aimee Mann when she was part of 'Tim Tuesday (always thought her solo stuff struggled to match it), Stevie Nicks (till she got all crap in 2011, Voice of Beehive girls, T'pau, Cathy Dennis, Wilson Phillips, who all showed promise before stuttering, and their voices were great too. But Kim Wilde has a truly underrated voice, and more to the point, she has a vocal which can tackle any musical style and make it her own. And let's not forget the truly amazing Abba girls vocals, and there's Marie Frederikkson from Roxette. Karen Carpenter, vocally, is amazing, I don't doubt that, but no one puts vulnerability across like Agnetha, or strength like Frida, whereas Kim uses the song to equal whatever she's getting across vocally. Olivia Newton-John has a great voice, but wastes it on country and soppy piffle. I do prefer a normal way of singing, it's the best way to get inside a song and even tell a story if you can-many of Kim's songs and 80s songs generally told stories. Not since the 90s though, and this Celine Dion/Pariah Carey/Chaka Khan way of howling banalities is just NOT singing, not least cos of the wretched songs these twits always do. Others like Sheryl Crow and Gabrielle sound terrible anyway, equalling the songs! The Carpenter's approach may be as dated as much of the 70s stuff now (doesn't mean it's bad, but the shelf life shows) but yes, Cathy Dennis, who chose Karen for her fave singer in that old 90s 'Not Fade Away' show said people don't sing now like she used to-doesn't stop Cathy writing for them though! And don't even get me started on the horror that IS Madonna!
I have always HATED Karen's voice. She sounds like a singing public service announcer. Completely lacking in any spontaneity or true emotion.Belinda's voice, in contrast, has a beautiful timbre and she positively oozes with life.
Probably years ago, I would have agreed, but, now that I'm older, I'm like you, I'll give her credit. Every cover of a song has the singer's inflection, personality and what ever singers have when they sing songs. While she and it is not Karen Carpenter, this is Belinda's spin on it. She took the song and made it her way. That's where I give her credit. Its still a beautiful song, and this is a good cover. She does a good job.
I love Belinda. This rendtion seems under produced (possibly unfinished?). It's strays a bit too much from the original version. I am thrilled however that you posted it. Thanks!
Great song! An Important reminder this election season: Check out another powerful UA-cam video recorded by 7 year old Sharon Morgan "Fearfully And Wonderfully Made - Voice Of The Children."
God has enough Love to go around for all his creation. May God help you if you have a distorted idea of the word "beast", which just means "animals" here, certainly not what you suggest. Please see another viewpoint. Animals can show (God's) love more than you may witness in many people. If you don't know this then YOU are ignorant in this way.
I would like to disagree with headley62. I very much like to listen to Belinda and this is a good version but Karen Carpenter's version is still the BEST.
Big fan of Belinda, but this is not one of her best tracks, not saying it is bad but not up to the extremely high standards of her best stuff. I did take a listen to Karen Carpenters version and while the song is more suited to her voice, her version is very slow and dull in parts so not really interested in either version that much. The song itself could do with more verses rather than the same repetitive lyrics.
Never realized she covered this song. She butchered it. I don't think anyone could top The Carpenters but I have heard other people cover it ok, this is pretty bad in so many ways.
Love this beautiful song and video it’s breathtaking 🤎🧡🤍💚💛❤💙💜
dont care, who sings it. the song is worth to sing and be listened.
Belinda singing of this song is the best I have heard.
Bless Belinda.

Eweeeeeeeeeeeee no way , it's best by Karen Carpenter !
Belinda is an amazing talent.
I love her so much.
She gets better with time.
Thank you for posting this.

Belinda's rendition of this song is the best.
It sounds so beautiful I can't put it into words.
Until right now, I never knew she covered this song.
Love you, Belinda, but Karen owns this song.
Barcelona te quiere, las personas amantes de los animales te hemos escuchado y sabemos que eres una energía de voz muy necesaria.

This cover sounds wonderful! I love it, so hearty!
Thanks i was looking this for years! God bless you :)
I like that animals were included in this. We tend to forget them.
Belinda's rendition of this song is the best.
Wonderful song from a beautiful classy lady.
Bless Belinda.

WE ALL SHOULD BLESS THE BEAST AND THE CHILDERN. AND THE ONES WHO DON'T NEED TO GO STRAIGHT TO F- - - - - - JAIL.
I agree. Some songs just don't need to be redone.
It was done for an animal rights charity so good for her.
it was on Tame yourself a various artists album also with Exene's amazing version of phil ochs do what i gotta do.
I love Belinda. This rendtion seems under produced (possibly unfinished?). It's strays a bit too much from the original version. I am thrilled however that you posted it.

A: It takes a lot of guts for a female singers to cover a Carpenter’ tune.
B: I like this. Production very much in the CA late ‘80’s sound.
You're very welcome!
@HoshiChun her voice always vibrates like that...kind of her trademark...she has great vocal modulation, but it can irratating in some of her songs...
please can anyone help me to get a copy of this
regards from ireland

Does anyone have the mp3? Can't find it online :( Thanks :)
I think Karen is great too, but I like Belinda's version of this better. 5 stars Jim from Cleveland.
Four children and two adults died two days ago in a fire set by an arsonist in Youngstown, Ohio. Are we already in hell and don't even realize it?
Thanks, got it on ebay for 2 dollars :)
Love Karen's version, her deep comprehension.
Karen's is the best but Belinda's is also great. I don't think you can compare the two as they both have complately different arrangements. S x
You can't touch KAC's version.
Karen carpenters The Best forever
what was she thinking??? CACK!

Thanks for showing your view. Think Otherwise. Cant convince anyone but Its' scary. Read the Bible. Save your soul !
I would like to disagree with headley62. I very much like to listen to Belinda and this is a good version but Karen Carpenter's version is still the BEST.
*Sigh* - Sing this in Hell ! The Beast is nothing but the Saitan who hates God's best creation "Man Kind" - Ignorantly she sings for her DOOM !
I love Belinda but Karen's version is just so much better. In every way.
Big fan of Belinda, but this is not one of her best tracks, not saying it is bad but not up to the extremely high standards of her best stuff. Belinda. WTF?
I like Belinda, but I have to agree that this song doesn't suit her. She has a lovely voice but this is one she should have left alone.
Karen Carpenter's version is THE BEST, this one is ok, but Karen's is better
Even I like the arrangement, Belinda's voice doesn't fit to this song.
Karen has a nice voice, but like Ann Wilson and Dusty Springfield, she is no match for Belinda Carlisle! No-one is. Love you, Belinda!
Never realized she covered this song. She butchered it. I don't think anyone could top The Carpenters but I have heard other people cover it ok, this is pretty bad in so many ways.
