I’m a HEMI lovin country boy from Texas. But I’ll gladly admit the 2023 Silverado (with a 6.2L) is a sweet ass truck, and I probably would’ve bought one. But I found it impossible to find a 6.2L Silverado with all the features I wanted anywhere in the US. They just don’t make that many of them. Anymore most of them aren’t even trucks. 98% of the new Sierras or Silverados I see have either the stupid ass 2.7L 4 Cylinder that poor, retarded, liberal, city slickers drive who don’t need a truck because they don’t have anything to use it for drive. Or they have the damn 5.3L V8 that is just a piece of shit V8. But then again, at least in my opinion. The way a true dualed HEMI sounds vs a true dualed 6.2L sounds isn’t even a comparison in my opinion. And they’re towing capacity’s are really the same. A stock 6.2L might tow like 400 lbs more than a stock Ram but if you put a new exhaust, and an air intake on a Ram 5.7L then it’s gonna be exactly the same as a 6.2L with the exact same mods.
Appreciate the Review but u were way wrong on a few things. 1 being that that truck was 5600lbs for the Ram. Maybe 6500lbs but not 5600. That makes a big difference to people watching and thinking ur right and then wondering why a truck that light isn't faster or better mpg or something. Also e torque only helps when going from a stop to half a tire rotation and then it stops helping the truck to get going. So having the extra like 130lbft from the torque, doesn't help at all with acceleration. But like the channel and keep it up
We have the 2016 GMC Yukon with the 6.2 engine and regularly get 22-24 mpg highway but; premium fuel is recommended. The Ram is close in numbers but only need regular fuel so over a lifetime I think the Ram may be easier on the billfold.

The gen V 6.2 issues are gonna be lifters issues due to the 4 cylinder deactivation system and they used to tend to burn through oil quickly idk if they fixed that but that's really it for the 6.2 I think but I would watch out for that transmission as gm never made great transmissions tbh except there manuals, for the ram 5.7 I say watch out for the lifters as well because of the same reason, because of the 4 cylinder deactivation system, but other then that I don't see any other issues with the hemi engine as the 8 speed auto is bullet proof and a great transmission.
Heard my name! Lol. You’re seeing the benefit of these 10 speeds super close ratio gears and really short lower gears on top of that. That’s why they can run these “highway” gear rear ends and still not give up low speed and acceleration performance. That 3.23 and 10 speed will destroy an old 4L85 4 speed and 4.10 gear in 1st gear final drive ratios. Not even close. And then with the 0.63:1 top gear destroy it on highway cruising too. See this is why I tell you those 4.10 and 4.30 gears are a waste for the vast majority of people. Unless you just really need slow speed pulling power they are unnecessary. Also I am not at all a fan of dynamic fuel management but it’s theory works spectacularly well at cruising speeds. I’m sure for some of that test you were running on 2 cylinders. That’s why the mpg was as close as it was. And also I keep telling you these gen 5 small blocks are the business son. That 6.2 has the same bore as the L8T 6.6 but a shorter stroke. So it’s definitely snappier because of that but still makes pretty good low end torque.

A new 6.6L gasser vs a Hemi in a ln HD Ram might be a good comparison too. The Chev would destroy in that comparison.
The Chevy 10spd was a joint venture w/ Ford. Both are terrible transmissions. The top 3 gears are just overdrive gears and are worthless. @@coolsquad7428 100% dealer maintained and always on time...look it up, it's a common issue with the hemi....it's also a very common issue with the pentajoke v6.
@@youtubecantsaveallthesnowf8601 Shit like this scares me about buying my first Ram. That and the manifold bolt issues. I may stick with my Silverado. But I love the Ram interior comfort.
I have owned both the 6.2 and the hemi. 6.2 is a much better motor...especially once tuned. My hemi ram had the 3.92 rear end and still had very lacking low end power. Honestly, the chevy DI 5.3 even has better low end power than the hemi.
Another thing to note with the ram is that you can't believe what the truck tells you for fuel economy as it's often 3mpg or so optimistic. I had a very hard time break 20 mpg in the ram even though my truck would tell me that I was getting about 23.
Maybe this new hurricane engine in the ram will get it up to par with the other manufacturers.
The 5.3 is better than the 5.7 Hemi??🤯
Not sure how your RAM with 3.92 gears lacked low end power. My RAM wants to peel out and take off like crazy with very little acceleration.
@@hellkitty1014Yeah no he trolling or lying as I drove both engines as the 5.3 doesn't really have much torque or power compared to the 5.7 hemi.
Nice 👍
When did Ram start offering a full digital instrument cluster?
Certain trims in 2023
The fastest Ram is the one I have properly equiped with 3.92 gears, 20 inch wheels and no ETorque. It weighs 6,043 pounds. It is stock except for Stainless long tube headers, CAI and a Pulsar tuner. It runs consistant 5.3 second 0 to 60 runs. It is vasty superior to the Chevy in every way!
lmfao my stock powerboost runs 5.5 sec 0 to 60 ram is junk
@@alicepooper8562 ya but that's Ford hot garbage. Ecoboost is the worst engine around.. wait till you get some hard miles on it. I couldn't get rid of mine quick enough..😂😂😂😂
@@claysmurthwaite2386 this is my 2nd ecoboost never had any issues with my 2017 after 160k you have no idea what your talking about ram retard
GM 6.2
5.3L will be better than the 6.2L on mpg.
Not by much. The advantage of the 5.3 is that you can use 87 octane
You can run 87 on the 6.2, too. It's just recommended you run premium. As for mpg, ignore the EPA and look at real world. The 6.2 guys are posting up better mpg on the forums. My 2020 Trail Boss with the 6.2 is rated 14 city/19 highway, but I'm constantly seeing way better than that when I drive between San Diego and Las Vegas. Going to Las Vegas my best is 24.4. Going to San Diego it is 23.3. Cruise is anyways set at 8mph over the posted speed limit, and I'll either cruise with the a/c on, or the sun roof and rear window open. No hyper miling or drafting going on here.
@@domin8ss yes for reliability reasons I’m not running 87 tho. If ur worried about gas prices and mpg, still get the 5.3, if not 6.2 is def a great engine and one that I have in my truck
Pussy motor
@@domin8ss 24 miles yeah okay
Launch a TRX .Then compare it to your Ford and Chev😂
a simple tune on my powerboost and it waxes the trx

So you're partial to Ram products and just couldn't admit it. You almost did, but even with the facts right there, you still made excuses for the Ram. Lol. Apples to apples comparison is a real comparison not just 'well because of this or that....' Haha. Nice "review" tho. Really though, it's good to see a comparison of some sort regardless. I think the 5.3L to 5.7L hemi is more of a comparison as to what a guy would buy. If a guy is buying the 6.2 Chevy that same guy would probly opt for the Cummins in the Dodge. A new 6.6L gasser vs a Hemi in a ln HD Ram might be a good comparison too. The Chev would destroy in that comparison.
Chev takes 91octane. Don't forget
No it doesn’t
E-torque is a huge gimmick.
It isn't. It replaces the alternator as well offers a superior auto start/stop, which is on all cars these days.
It’s really not. It does amazing things for that engine and driver experience compared to the regular 5.7.
Anthony But.......................YOU don't know what you are talking about!! Have you ever really looked in to the E-TORQUE?
@@1gr8oil I don’t it don’t do shit for acceleration. Shouldn’t Be called E-torque.
Dodge is a huge gimmick.
7.3L Godzilla FTW
The Chevy 10spd was a joint venture w/ Ford. Both are terrible transmissions. The top 3 gears are just overdrive gears and are worthless. The transmissions develop shuddering issues and have class action lawsuits pending. Stick with the 8spd. Chevy and Ford need to get rid of the 10spd and go back to 8spds. Much less problems.
Dodge trucks have always been a disposable truck. Heck they even had to change the name to Ram to distance themselves from the stigma
Just to think the 5.7 needs 16 spark plugs and an etorque to basically accomplish less 😂😂😂
Etorque is a joke. Dont waste ya money for that unless you getting a deal on a used.
The 6.2 chev motor uses all oil in 6000 km. These 6.2 engines are knocking and low engine light on its too late damage done, Something very wrong with engines. Hard on fuel too, small tank 90 liter. Warning! do not buy 6.2 chev.

The Ram looks 10x better. That Chevy is super ugly up front.
Lol Ram headlights are ugly af. Silverado looks great
@@blownl98 You must like your trucks with braces.
They are both good looking trucks… i personally think the new Fords are ugly.
I've seen issues with the new Rams that keep me away. I'm good friends with my son's baseball coach. He has a F150 and his wife has a Ram with e-torque. I have a Chevy Trail Boss. My friend is constantly talking about dumping his F150 diesel for a Chevy with the 6.2. His wife loves her Ram, but it has weird glitches with things like fog lights and other minor electrical issues.
That’s subjective. The GMC destroys em both in looks
My 2020 at4 is better than the ram. But the ram is better than the chevy. Why tf is the chevy so ugly
Your comparing apples and oranges, 5.7liter is equivalent to a chevy 350. So if your going to compare the ram 1500 to a chevy with a 6.2 litere then your going to need a TRX 1500 in which there's no comparison the ram will wipe the floor with that chevy. Personally I went with luxury and I have the limited with a 5.7 or 345 hemi. The chevy has a dash that's chaotic at best, hasn't been updated basically since almost the 1990s, the screen is tiny and obsolete, the truck rides like a rock and steers like a tank, flick the side of the body with your figure and put a dent in it ford's the same way...pretty much those trucks are made for people with special pronouns 😅
Your full of shit Guy!!
Considering the fact that dodge just screwed their entire fan base by not calling millions of remakes on EVERY SINGLE ONE of their gas v8 motors not being made right….. now think about the fact that dodge sales are dropping off the cliffs and also the company has the worst reputation of any domestic American Vehicle manufacturer of the past 30 years. Yeah dodge sucks man. Stop buying them because they look cool. They are shit vehicles. Remember** Ford owns Cummins! 🤣🤣🤣
Ford makes the biggest garbage fires out there.. you obviously have no clue... oval licker
Both are FUGLY trucks especially the Silverado. The 6.2L is a bomb waiting to blow up, The Hemi is a lifter ticking POS. It’s a shame that Big 3 produce such UGLY 1/2 ton trucks…..Hell I would pick the new Toyota Tundra all day long over both of these just because of how Fugly these trucks are
Tundra is as ugly as it gets.
