- In today's video, I will show you how to scan a QR Code with your Samsung Galaxy smartphone! These are matrix barcodes that appear everywhere and are able to be scanned by smartphones!
Let's dive in.
This will work on any Samsung phone such as Galaxy S22 Ultra, S21 Ultra, Note 20 Ultra, Fold 3, Flip 3 and more.

NOPE It didn't scan the QR code. When I went into settings there is NO OPTION for turning QR code ON OR OFF???

When you say, scan the QR code do you mean take a picture of it? I don’t see a scan option written anywhere.
In the Samsung Galaxy A12tht I have, there is no Scan QR Code option available under Settings.

Same here Samsung J7 crown. There is no option in the camera settings for QR codes. I only succeed by installing a QR app from play store. But this phone drive storage is limited.

Try this method..... Swip all the way down on the main screen then swipe right to left. You will see " Scan QR code ".. Tap on it to open. Hope this helps.

You can also swipe down on the main screen and there is a quick button just to scan QR codes.

My Galaxy A11 doesn't have an option to enable QR code scanning in the camera or phone settings.
Reading through comments here inspired me to try taking a photo of the QR code, then click the share button, and share to Google Image search. It worked!

If you have a QR Code on your screen and don't know how to scan it; here's how.
Take a screenshot of the code. Go to your drop down and there is a Scan QR Code button. Tap the button and it'll pop up the scanner. On the bottom right there is an option for gallery. Tap gallery. Find your screenshot of the code. Frame it correctly and it will read the code. Have a great day. 😁

I also do not have it. I have just configuration for selfies. The only think I can recommend to you is to install Samsung Internet. It has a QR scanner hidden deeply into the menu configuration...

Well I don't know about all that swiping down stuff cuz I have an A32, which I totally love btw, and all's I do is launch camera hover it over QR code and walla! Or, _voila_ is actually the proper French spelling of _walla_ LOL. Anyway that's all I do. And of course you can launch camera by pushing power button twice or clicking camera icon on home screen. If it doesn't work click settings gear top right of camera and turn on QR button.

perhaps change the title to "most Samsung Galaxy" or "Newer" I have an older Samsung Galaxy 7 E and no joy. I open the camera and scan the code and nada. So I think the phone needs to be newer...my workaround is that I have Google Lens app on my phone. additionally I have looked under Settings and nothing with QR or Scan QR exists....so just an FYI...good video for newer phones but not all. thanks for the effort tho

Actually was having issues scanning a QR code the other day. Mostly because I'm used to it being an actual mode in the camera app, and didn't know they integrated it into the basic app.
Guess I can get rid of the QR code reader app I installed. 😋

I have Samsung GalaxyA10 phone. I don’t see quick settings in my phone. The Samsung agent could not help me. He could not connect with me through smart tutor also for long. There is no scan QR code button in the settings to enable it. Please let me know if I can’t do it in my phone. iPhone has QR code scanner is in the camera but it comes on with difficulty. In iPad the scanner works well in the camera.
I have the A11 and my QR reader doesn't activate when I try that and when I go to my camera settings there's no option for it one way or the other. What's going on and how do I fix it because it's my understanding that the A11 is supposed to be able to do this? Thanks.

@@pppluronwrj yea that's my solution but it is stupid. Just like needing Google Clock instead of Samsung clock for multiple timers to run.

If you press and hold the home button to get Google Assistant there should be an option to search inside the screen. From there you can press on the QR code and see that it holds.
@Ken Osiris but I will need to speak / lift off my mask when I'm in public commute. If only we can choose google lens over bixby vision as the default engine

Take a screenshot of the code. Use scan Qr Code from your drop down menu (where your wifi and data symbols are.) Tap Scan QR code button. There is an option on the bottom right for gallery. Press gallery, go to the screenshot, frame it correctly and it'll read it.

Tutorials should tell you to FIRST turn on the settings switch (I didn't know about the switch). I don't know why they can't just tell you that at the beginning rather than waste one's time for several minutes. Usually, they don't mention it at all.

Doesn't work for normal barcodes unfortunately, so if you want to do that, you still need a separate app.

The camera option does not work on my Android Samsung A12. I stopped/started the video. The feature is missing from my phone Humiliating.
