    I don't understand why people dislike. What is wrong with this video to dislike. They don't have sense of Sanskrit language and Indian rich culture and heritage. They take pride in speaking English, language of those people who ruled us, but are not interested in learning samskrutam or even mother tongue and regional languages in India. We should be proud, we have do many languages in India and samskrutam is the mother of all languages.

      Not perfect pronunciation. He keeps pronouncing ऋ as रु, which is incorrect. I don't understand how even "experts" seem to be making this basic mistake.

    • @greatbalance
      @greatbalance 3 роки тому +2

      @@tstcikhthys I'm glad you are aware of the difference. I listened very carefully to his speech again. He is very close to perfect. He pronounces it correctly as ऋ not as रु. The sound is neither रि nor रु. His pronunciation is spot on. And even if there is a very negligible tendency towards रु his overall mastery of the language well compensates for the tiny difference. You seem to be missing the forest for the trees :)

    • @tstcikhthys
      @tstcikhthys 3 роки тому

      @@greatbalance No, it isn't. He keeps pronouncing it with the र, which is not at all what ऋ is. The ऋ is pronounced exactly like the English "r" (assuming you have a native English accent rather than an Indian accent). I'm not missing the forest for the trees; I listened to the whole speech and am impressed. I'm merely challenging your comment that you seem to think his pronunciation is perfect, which it definitely isn't.

    • @greatbalance
      @greatbalance 3 роки тому +3

      @@tstcikhthys Are you a native speaker of an Indian language? You saying that ऋ is pronounced like the English 'r' tells me you probably aren't. So you're already misinformed. As I said, his pronunciation is spot on. Your understanding isn't.

    • @tstcikhthys
      @tstcikhthys 3 роки тому

      @@greatbalance Yes, I speak two Indic languages fluently. The ऋ is a vowel (a retroflex one), which is defined in Samskrt (and any Indic language for that matter) as any sound that doesn't involve the tongue blocking air flow in the mouth. This is exactly how the English "r" is pronounced: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voiced_retroflex_approximant
      The र is a consonant and is an alveolar flap in most Indic languages including Samskrt (it used to be a retroflex flap), which necessarily means your tongue touches the inside of your mouth (in this case, behind your upper front teeth). It is pronounced like this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voiced_dental_and_alveolar_taps_and_flaps#Voiced_alveolar_tap_and_flap
      I'm not the one misinformed; you are. And no, his pronunciation is not "spot on".

Listening different dialects of languages will help having a calming, assuaging, making milder, satisfying, mollifying, pacifying and relieving effect to HEART and BRAIN. Amongstall Indian languages, Telugu has about 75% of sanskrit words embedded both in colloqueal and in literature of telugu. While SAMSKRIT LIPI i.e. DEVANAGARI LIPI is HINDI , MARATI Thus both these three languages are more blessed, besides all the other indian languages have considerable samskrit influence in those languages. Thus all Indian languages have the language of Gods.

      Actually, i don't think that sanskrit originally used devanagri script. Have you seen the lengthy inscriptions on the ashoka pillar delhi..?
      It is nowhere near devanagri.
      Ashoka must have used a script that was normally used in the Delhi region in those days, just like the inscriptions on the ashoka pillar in Afghanistan are written in greek and aramaic script.

      Devanagari is not sanskrit script. Sanskrit was always written down in local scripts, including devanagari. Telugu script is no less sanskrit than devanagari.

      @@LalitKumar-cu5iu that's show Sanskrit influence in those area. It's not originated outside and no evidence for Aryan as race exist, only aryas who are noble. No matter how twist Tamil people try, evidence show otherwise.

      @Aryavarta Bharat No, telugu literature that we know of today originated in 1200 but not the language itself. Evidence of telugu existence goes back by 2500yrs. Also like raghu karthik said in remote villages they still speak telugu which has lot of its original words with very less sanskrit/english. However unlike tamils we dont live in denial. We accept the influence and richness sanskrit brought to telugu and cherish the evolution of language and its beauty. I also love tamil and its contribution to dharmic cultures , also tamil influence on sanskrit and vice versa, sanskrit has lot of influence on tamil but tamils live in denial.

    Amazing pronunciation, fluency and usage of older verbal conjugations in his speech. Enjoyed the speech although I disagree with many political views surrounding the language. :)

      Acharya never gives political speeches.No need for him. Only Acharya is telling the importance of Sanskrit. What ever may be the mother tongue of a person but when he is born and died all activities will be performed in Sanskrit only.All God stotras are written in Sanskrit that is why he refers Sanskrit as God’s language. Whoever is atheist and does not believe in Bharateeyatha can live the way he wants. Sanskrit does not require such people.

    Speaker's job is more difficult than the listener's. Let's see the merit in his speech and ignore aspects such as pronunciation.
    How many of us can speak English as English men do?
    Many English professors do not know how to correctly pronounce words like 'bury', 'liaison'... Swamiji's impromptu speech is also fluent and full of weighty message.
