- Watch superstar Wade just tear up the international competition with the Redeem Team in Beijing. After coming back from several injuries, many doubted that 'Flash' could ever recover his peak athletic form and be the player he once was...but boy were they wrong. Quite the contrary, Wade was simply unstoppable on both sides of the floor in that epic summer of 2008. Nobody played better. Even though Coach K's team was full of superstar material (Lebron was the all-around juggernaut, Carmelo had a FIBA scoring pedigree and Kobe acted as the defensive stopper), I think Wade was the best performer of that famous USA squad. But you be the judge.
This compilation features footage from the eight official Olympic matches and the five exhibitions played prior to that. As always, really hope you enjoy this.

These olympics proved to me that DWade was the best player in the game. Even though everybody played great, Wades game shined the most. He is a natural born leader when it comes to hooping. His abilities speak for itself. Truly the greatest player this game has ever witnessed on both sides of the floor.

@Wyndamn it was 2004 with the bronze and that team didn't play wade lebron or Carmelo because they were rookies. They sat and watch the older guys win bronze because the coaches were stubborn.

It was Bron, Wade was 2nd & Kobe was 3rd. This is the beginning of 2peat Lakers Kobe so you could argue he’s actually the best player, but it definitely wasn’t Wade.
Wade is my all-time favorite player. He was always a big big time team player. Possibly one of the best team players of all time. But when it came down to moments like this he would show his dominance. He would step back I believe as a leader even when LeBron came over Dwyane stepped aside I believe intentionally knowing that it would work better for LeBron to allow him to take a lead role and him to back him up as any good leader would do with an assistant. It's simply more efficient. If you look up the stats in this Olympics wade had the highest points per minute of any player in the Olympics. He was able to just take over at any time. I watched several games and things would just change the moment he got going. Thank you for posting this though 👍

Prime Dwade just dominates when he's on the floor. It's like he's everywhere as if he owns the place. Doesn't have size, vertical or three point shootong. But he had elite Speed, agility, power, length, stamina and instincts. Lethal.
Despite being undersized and not having insane bunnies he still became the #1 shot blocker for guards and was consistently yamming on mfs. I know AI is synonymous with the #3 but when i think of that number all i think of is flash

This video doesn’t do justice to how good DWade was in Beijing. He was otherworldly; and did it all off the bench. I recall him cutting his hair bald for the Olympics-Wade was known for a super clean edge up in his hairline-because he “wanted to play angry”. And angry he was.
How he managed to score 3 point range shots in the finals, and long shots... a beast... probably at that moment he was playing the best "I am NBA team's best option" basketball. Later in 2011 he was "Scottie Pippen" for Lebron James in Miami, but during this Olympics, one of the best players.
Carlos Jimenez in Spain was Dwayne Wade in that USA team...

The 2nd most exciting player to ever play the game. Kyrie is a walking reel, but EVERYTHING Wade did on the court had a wow factor to it. He has the best career reel next to Jordan. Easily.
I don't include Kyrie because he's not as consistent as far as making shots and he doesn't have any defensive highlights. Id exchange Kyrie pull up highlights for Wades defensive highlights any day. Wade was a better finisher, Kyrie is less of an athlete so he needed finesse more, Wade still has more highlight layups than Kyrie. Also no dunks for Kyrie.

People Forget how Strong, Fast, Athletic and Great a Defender Wade was. Reason why Wade & LeBron Duo was almost as great Perimeter defenders as Jordan & Scottie Duo, but way better on offensively plus on the fastbreak.
