Wow, I was going to build a trap from scratch, but you video made me realize I can use an older cage I already had on hand and just make the funnel. Plus I can make 2 sizes of funnels, one for house sparrow and one for starlings. Also, the funnel not being on the floor helps prevent escapes which is the problem with all the funnel trap plans I've seen. Kudos!
Thank you friend and good luck to you in your new project. Remember that the starling is insectivorous, I think that with mealworms it would work as bait, but if not you can put it where they see it and they come to eat it until they take a liking to it and then they enter the trap more easily.
The best trap I have ever seen!! So clever!!!
Wonderful idea great job
The vertical structure nature of this design looks like this design is superior over the others that are horizontal, inducing the birds to feel more secure. This looks like the ticket. Well done.
+Mightiflier Thanks.
Really like this trap !!!!
Made of an old bird cage and totally static (no moving parts).
Thank you.
I loved your video.
this is the best bird trap I have ever seen. very simple, cheapest and effective. it can catch a lot of birds
Thank you.
Help me to toturial it one by one Zoomed
thanks for this video.
Felicitaciones
Gracias
I watched this video a couple weeks ago and built a trap. I caught 57 sparrows in 2 days. THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping me with this nasty bird problem.
Your welcome , glad that it was helpful.
the labanese love to eat those deep fried
taranta 06 👍👍👍
very good
what do u do here do u just cover this with fence or what sumone specify it for me please i like it
Were those black chickens feral chickens?
Yes they are feral
Adelante,gracias a ti.
manolo manolodlospavos
wawwwww very nice
Gracias, saludos
what do you do with them?
Thanks for this video. I am trying to prevent Engish Sparrows from harassing our native Chickadees and Nuthatches. The sparrows drive them out of their nesting boxes and destroy the eggs.
I caught 7 English sparrows. This is enough to give the native birds an advantage . I also caught one native Chipping Sparrow but let it free unharmed.
This helps to protect our natural environment so much appreciated!
Thanks from Canada
+Tom Aaron Your welcome,thank you.
how do we inform more canadians about the perils of native songbirds due to these sParasites?
U
There are billions of house sparrows so your birds never had an advantage.
There are not billions in our yard.
I was looking for a trap door for a pigeon trap cage, Thanks
wuaw
so basically they could get back out then and some probably do if cagewasn't checked regularly throughout the day??
I don't understand (i can't see) how they get caught in the trap and are not able to get out.
We did the same trap, it's very effective and doesn't hurt the birds. We need to trap some of them because they compete with the chickens for their feed. After it's trapped we release them some place else, far in the mountains.
I do the same like you, but I is loose then in the city, in another neighborhood far from where I live They eat the food of my chicken and bring diseases and parasites to my birds and my chickens.
Just kill them or your not really helping the native species they are just finding other birds to harrass and kill.
@@taranta where I know, Sparrows are one of the most healty birds of the world ._. They're here in Argentina too, and I never saw one that was sick, they also take diry baths for scare off parasites, just like Chickens do
Simple and efficient ... Great trap
Thank you.
Alaaaaa
Taranta another thing is that these European House Sparrows kill some of the smaller native birds so that they can take their nest to breed. This is the real problem with these E-House Sparrows. Now, there is the European Tree Sparrow that looks like the E-House Sparrow however, they don't have grey on their heads, their hears are completely brown.
Putting the perches above the entrance is the key as when ever they are disturbed, the first thing they do is fly-jump to the perches and bypass the entrance completely. Even though other E-House Sparrows continually enter, they don't see to recognize that, that's they way out.
Is like that, my friend.
read what you said about opening but still did not understand please explain or show an other video of how to construct entrance please billm
Wonder if I could do this with grackles and starlings?
Starlings are intelligent birds. They would get back out immediately.
Linda Smith I don't know, sorry, try it maybe it work.
Can you post more video with that trick
Yes, sure.
¡No amigo! Los de este video son gorriones comunes. Saludos.
Gracias.
Caen todos !
nice video
but where is the design
how can I do it ❤
Fares, is simple but effective : make a tunnel to fit on any door of bird cage.
It is very good trap, How can I get one?
My friend you must do it, because it's my invention, that's why I put it here, they do not sell it.
what are the dimensions please billm
This only place I have seen this particular trap. How do build it ?
It's easy, if you have a particular cage, you just have to make the tunnel that I show in the video, do it with the size of the door hole.
taranta 06 that doesn't make any sense I've seen similar tunnel traps where they can get right back out and your trap doesn't have anything like a little trap door on the end or anything like that I cannot imagine how that actually work the way it does on the video
taranta 06 I don't understand how that tunnel trap is any better than any other tunnel trap I've seen I have one and I know my sparrows would come right back out
@@davidmackenzie8368 Ok, soon I'll make a video and I'll notify you, so you can see how I did it
taranta 06 Thank you
I see it working I just don't understand why it works
Could you please explain how to make the wire funnel?
+John Friedel I had not seen this comment. well is easy to make, fold it to form rectangle funnel and for the opening you're going to put, cut and fold the corners and it ready, watch the video again.
It’s a very great trip will i sen in the UA-cam good for you
Thank you.
hows the procedure?
Simple, look carefully the video, it is a tunnel made of wire mesh that is the size of the doors of the cages. When the tunnel is made, put the sticks guide at the front of the entrance.
You need a bigger trap with bigger opening...
Its for the chickens
Thank you, that is good idea.
.. What do you do with them after you catch them?
I let it free in another place.
So that's where all these sparrows came from!
I want to take care of them
Trap a Donald Duck.
what is it about the trap that actually traps them? From what it looks like they could get out from the front
The trap is the tunnel, inside there are seeds that attracts entering to eat, on front it has a stick as a guide , once inside they get confused and do not know how to come out and start looking for the sides instead of the center which is the way out.
Would the same concept (but bigger) work on pigeons?
I think so, but put the tunnel more low, the pigeon like walk more in the ground.
taranta 06 makes sense, cheers
try to teach how make the cage
When I make another cage, I'm going to make a video. Thank you is good idea.

i mean the place of the video?
Is in Miami.
The video was taken in Miami
Hi sir, i already do whatever in this video but no bird even get in,just lay on the stick and then fly away,so many bird want to get the food inside but no ones dare to get inside tunnel,is there any wrong with my trap...
Look at the stick if it is in front of the tunnel and if the tunnel is big enough for the birds to climb inside when they see the food.
The stick, the tunnel and the food should be in a straight line, so the birds stand on the stick and see the food, another detail is under the stick you must put stones or other sticks to obstruct so they don't go under the stick and force them to jump the stick so they can see the food.
Many thanks for your help....
Hi sir,is it true that trapped birds only for female sparrow?the trap was working good, but it never catch a male sparrow or its just my opinion, need more advice to do it better....
No, remember that the male sparrow is territorial, if you wait in the chick season you will catch more males.
I rlly hate that most ppl use this for kill the poor birds instead of a better eco-friendly way. Experts already said that kill them is not an option
If we are in this possition, then you're telling me that I can kill every single Hawk that is chasing my Pigeons

i dont understand. .how it keeps them trapped.
the exit has pointy sharp wires and its smaller than the entrance, easy to enter but hard to come out. he is smart to put a stick at the entrance so that the bird could jump in, but there no stick inside the trap that is same level as the exit for the bird to jump out.
Angie Rohde
Spaide man You got it!
Spaide man Sparrows will hurt if they try to go through the exit
Should the funnel be that long so that it be just near to the other end of the cage or there should be some distance?
+Apps Store Another comment that I had not seen. So do the funnel that fits with the trap, but give room for the bird to jump inside and not return to go out, watch the video again to get a idea.
Gracias, silo voy hacer.

These animals are so stupid, the exit is right there..
They will get hurt if they try to exit
I guess their will to live is not strong enough.
