That background is their backing track. Unlike some bands the Ladies aren't dependent on their backing track. They have performed without it in the past due to technical issues and they still sounded just as good.
For the Ladies the backing track is like the sugar sprinkles on top of the cup cake or cookies. Just to add a little sweetner to the mix.
