Who’s here during quarantine time, wishing you were him at that moment!
Please make a Rope Drop Part 2, now including Galaxys Edge.(Great Video!)
We were at Disneyland last weekend for the first time in years -- I used your rope drop tips and we rode 13 (!!) rides before noon! Thanks for helping us pull off an amazing day!
Indiana Jones has a secret single rider line. Just ask a cast member and walk on. I love it. You feel like a vip.
I am so not a morning person, but I’ll drag myself out of bed for rope drop. #WorthIt
My rope drop game plan
Stay in the Disneyland hotel
Go for magic morning, stay till closing
Get 3 hours of sleep
Go for another magic morning
Repeat
jeebs621 MEEEEE!!!
Going to Disneyland by myself was the best time I’ve had there!
That announcement brought happy tears to my eyes!! Disney magic folks!!
I also love the Disney announcements 😭
I know you said it’s the coffee but I love you positive attitude!!! Thanks for the awesome tips!!!
I agree! Its good to see a true Disney fan doing their thing
Never been to Disney before and no one I'm friends with is interested, thanks for the encouragement to go it alone
solo rope drop is the best!! You can just be fully immersed in the world of Disney 😍
I'm gonna do this sometime, never been and people I know aren't really interested
I love videos like this! you never really see people DO disneyland, you normally see them go on like 4 rides a day and then I think of when my family goes and we go HARD. we do Disneyland the way that you did Disneyland in this video. love your videos so much and I hope I see you when my family goes in October!
Magic hour, max pass, and single rider is an amazing trip at Disneyland!!
we did the Magic Morning for our first trip. We signed our boys up for the jedi training first thing, then rode space mountain twice (cm sent us back because we didn't get a good picture the first time how nice!), rode buzz lightyear I believe and then headed over to peter pan. while we waited for peter pan my mom ran over and got us fast passes for indiana jones. What a great first day for my boys first trip!
I’ve been to Disneyland DOZENS of times! Only recently did I realize that rope drop is the only (read: best) way to do it!
I did the rope drop yesterday. With MaxPass I got on like 9 rides in the first two hours!
TakeInventory That’s my rate too!
A solo Disneyland trip is totally on my bucket list!
I've done solo twice. OMG! Talk about really getting into Disneyland and being a kid 👦 again. I rode 17 rides, some multiple, and recorded a full set of Bootstrappers that I posted on UA-cam. Took some really good photos and Met a really nice Senior Citizen couple from Minnesota that were first timers. So awesome to do Solo.
Janette I totally recommend it. I’ve done it so many times 🤓
I've been thinking about it, thanks for the encouragement
Hi Max! 👋. Love your strategy! This is similar to what we do but I like Matterhorn instead of Space Mountain. Thank you for the video...I miss Disneyland so much!!
I LOVE THIS! THANK YOU!This is definitely going to help when my family (3 kids under 12 , husband and myself) go to Disneyland.
My husband and I have done rope drop before, but never with kids. Seeing this video and how to approach it makes it seems less daunting. Especially knocking out Fantasyland first. I have never done the Max Pass, but I think I'm going to try it now seeing how easy it was and how quick you were able to jump on rides. Thanks again!
Planning the first visit for our family, and this was extremely informative! Thank you! Also really funny! Seriously, you're the perfect Disney guide.. =D
Oh my heck he just makes me SMILE. Like his laugh and enthusiasm about Disneyland matches mine so well and that's so rare for me, that it just makes me frickin SMILE. It's so gOOD.
Rope drop makes the day so much more amazing
Arriving for first trip tomorrow (mother/daughter trip)! I've been watching your amazing videos for advice. Thank you!!
yes old school max video finally!! Missed these!
Wow max thanks for the tip
You did EXACTLY what I would’ve done. I just kept nodding my head as you went!
Magic Morning Hour is the BEST!!! Great Vid
Having a solo Disney day is honestly the best thing ever! You get to go at your own pace, you're not stressed out and it's just so relaxing; you also get more done than when you're with a group. I'm an AP holder and I take solo Disney trips all the time. Don't get me wrong, I love going with my family and friends but sometimes its nice to have some "me" time at the Happiest Place on Earth lol
Cool I've been thinking about it because I've never been and these comments help
Cool i will definitely do that on my 3rd time to Disneyland. Next week will be my first time to Disneyland so i really want to walk and see all detail of it and i will be not be able to do that in one day lol so two days to do that 😁. I love to go to places and see it all walking slow and the gift shops too. Thanks for your vid 😎👍
I have done 5 rope drops since May including two Magic Hours. Your strategy is one of a seasoned pro. Lebe the videos Max!
Thanks max awesome tips I got a lot done last year on a trip last year on a Saturday morning with my magic morning in fantasy land I had a 3 day ticket and got Fastpass for some rides too :)
Going early is the best way to get the most done during your day! You had quite the morning, huh?
I can 100% vouch for going to the parks solo! I do it all the time, and it’s super great to be able to go at your own pace. It’s also a fantastic way to make new Disney friends! 💚💚💚
Perfect vid!!! Nice work getting those rides in!
I've been to Disneyland twice b/c of former friends canceling out on me. I throughly enjoyed being by myself b/c I wasn't arguring with someone to figure what we wanted to do. What was funny is when people whom I was casually chatting with found out I was by myself they would speak in hush tones before asking me would I like to join them. That was so sweet but continued on my solo journey. ANOTHER GREAT VLOG MAX!!!!😘😘😘
that was AMAZING! BRAVO
Great Video! Peter Pan is the first thing I run to as well. I went alone in February and it was surprisingly "not bad." It would be fun to go with someone like you who is as in love with the place as you are!
Such a awesome video thank you!
Thanks for the inside tips!😘
HAHAHAHA "Oh my gosh there's cookies up there"
I have done magic morning rope drop on almost every trip to Disney I've ever taken. You hit it right on the head! For California adventure, I recommend getting a radiator Springs fast pass 1st thing in the morning then go straight to Toy Story midway Mania
WOW WOW WOW that is a lot sounds well worth it
You did really well. We had 3day park hoppers with MaxPass at the end of April. It’s worth every penny. Knocked out all the “big kid” rides by 11am, had breakfast at the Riverbelle and then park hopper to DCA. We were done with both parks by 3p. We stayed to watch the Disney Channel Fanfest went on a couple more rides and shows. Left around 8p because we were so exhausted. I think the only thing we did wrong was not taking a break. Then next two days we took our time and still managed to ride a lot at both parks multiple times.
Awesome! Us too!! We went for rope drop the other day as well and got to meet Peter Tu and ride a ton of rides. We even made a new video! 😜
whats crazy is when Star Wars Galaxy's Edge opens next summer, I'll be much much easier to do the rest of the park while the vast majority wait and head for the new land. They'll either wait near the entrances to Galaxy's Edge while other people will do everything else in the park with little to no waits.
That’s a huge misconception. Galaxy’s edge is going to bring in a whole new crowd and it’s not very big. The new rides do not hold that many people, so people will be getting there very early to get their fast passes. When the fast passes sell out they will spill over into the rest of the land. It’s going to be crazy for the next year after it opens.
Not necessarily. Galaxy's Edge is likely going to operate, at least initially, like Pandora, where they have a limited number of people even allowed in the land at once. The rest of that crowd is going to have to go somewhere, and that'll be the rest of the park.
That's why I'm waiting for SWGE to open, the rest of the lines for the rides will be way much shorter
“ I did have Starbucks, this is the only way this is happening” that is so me lol, I need caffeine to survive that early in the morning
I just LOVE to visit to the castle every time I go to Disneyland in the morning ^^
Love the vid.! I need some Magic Morning. ☺
Going in march and staying at disneyland hotel. I have to do this rope drop when i go
Peter Tu @ 3:50!! (clap, clap, clap, clap, cap) Disneyland regular and sweet man.
ShesInLosAngeles Peter is awesome! I got to ride with Peter at Indiana Jones last Saturday :D
💙
I’ve seen him a few times!
Shook Peter’s hand back in May. It’s one of my personal favorite moments.
ShesInLosAngeles He doesn’t even acknowledge “Peter”!!!!!
Watch “Fresh Baked” Disney videos, they would have stopped dead in their tracks and said HI to him. I’ve met Peter 3 times and each on was SPECIAL. Clap, Clap, CLAP-CLAP-CLAP!!!
That was awesome!!
I love this man's personality!
More videos like this PLEASE!!!
If I get there at rope drop, I always start with Space Mountain. It helps wake me up lol. Usually I can get Space Mountain, Star Tours, Matterhorn, Indiana Jones, Pirates, Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder done before noon.
I agree on doing rope drop. early in the morning. then take a break i do fantasy land first then i go to either adventure land or tomorrow land
I forget how much we got done when my mom and I rope-dropped Disneyland when we came for D23 last year, but I know that we *literally* walked onto Pirates! Even though it is a long ride, I think it's worth it to rope-drop Pirates since the line can get incredibly long later in the day. I think even after we had breakfast with Minnie and Friends we got quite a few rides done before the park got really busy! The only difference was that it wasn't a magic morning so the rope drop happened closer to the castle where you can get to all the other lands.
And I totally agree about going to Disneyland alone- that's usually what I do when I go in February and it's a lot of fun! Not only do you get the occasional perk of getting in faster than expected when they're looking for a single rider, but you can use the single rider lines AND I think it's easier to grab a fast pass for a party of 1! Plus you can do whatever you want whenever you want. Only feel like walking over to DCA to grab lunch from that place you like and then head back over to Disneyland? No one else is gonna complain! Getting to the theater at DCA super early to get an amazing seat for Frozen? Same thing! (To be fair, my mom's usually with me if I'm not alone and she's never complained about any of that stuff but hey)
I loved this video!
First solo trip to DL in two weeks!! First timer too! So excited!! Looking forward to single rider line and Dis-nerding out and accomplishing lots in my 36 hours there ;-) Been enjoying your videos - great tips! Would you recommend the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour?
WOW I HOPE DL THE SOMETHING TO GET UP EARLY IN MORNING
This is the best day you could ever have at Disneyland! Sure does pay off to get there early and MaxPass helps a lot too!
When my wife and I visit the parks we always hit rope drop and use maxpass and we get all of our rides done before lunchtime. Every time. This combo is the way to go! Then you have the whole afternoon to relax, people watch, catch shows and performances, eat, whatever you’d like with no rush. 10/10 will always recommend
You should do this for DCA !this video was great
I remember I stayed at the Disneyland hotel once, we got extra magic hour and because of that, we had done every ride is Disneyland by noon, and spent the rest of the day at DCA. One of THE best Disneyland trips I’ve ever had!
Amazing video really helping me feel comfortable going solo! Fantastic way to make the most out of the day I'm taking notes!!!! How many days per park?
Just a tip. As someone who has done both Magic Hour(which if you have it use it) and a regular rope drop they are very different when it comes to crowds. Regular rope drop is way more crowded
All those green carts! Wow Max! 😂
Rope drop is that way to do it!
Hahaha Pinocchio is the only ride that has broken down while I was riding it.
Rope drop is the absolute best.
I do Peter Pan, Mr. Toad, Alice, Small World, Space Mountain, Star Tours, Nemo. Then the park is opening so I go to Pirates, then do Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones and get a Fast Pass for Thunder Mountain before lunch. Pinocchio and Snow White never have a long line, so I go back to them later. I don't always go on Dumbo, but if I do, I skip the Nemo ride. Usually after lunch I hit Toon Town and get that done before it gets too crazy. Then I'm done for day 1 of Disneyland.
I like your fast max walk 😂
In all the times I’ve been to WDW, I’ve only opened the MK once. I’m just not a morning person.
Can you please do a video on going Disneyland by yourself xo
I'm not used to Max not eating in a vlog.
You’re so cool 😁
I lost track of how many rides that was. But daaaaang max
you had the luck of the irish cause of all that green!:P
Can you do magic mornings as an Annual Pass holder?
Your is actually the way we did the Rope Drop but after pirates we went to the Haunted Mansion and then everything on the other side of the park. We were ready for lunch and a nap then back at the park for sight seeing and wait for the fireworks.
Greetings from Long Beach California~
The amount of times you get to go to Disney makes me jealous
Never did Extra magic hour but do rope drop a lot... ‘cause that’s the way to go!! I tell everyone of my friends who want to visit Disneyland do get there early for rope drop and enjoy a nearly empty park (and before it gets too hot) .
Hopefully your there on July 29 cuz that's when I'm going 😄.... I wanna see my favorite vlogger
Just curious...been watching a ton of your videos lately and was wondering if you had an annual pass? I didn't really pick up on if you've mentioned that before
That's definitely a record, not most people can do that. Good job!
Getting evac'd off of rides is literally the best ever! We got stuck at the top of Primeval Whirl it was INTENSE
I rope-dropped yesterday. I'm often first on PP but yesterday some little... jerk *sprinted* the entire way. I hate when people run at rope drop. It feels like cheating to me.
You can say 💭, No Running at Disneyland! Loud enough for them to hear. I have no problem doing it, I figure they'd be the first to want to sue Disneyland if they fell and got hurt.
“i’m often first on pp”
Hey, Max! Thanks for the video. I'm so glad you admitted you needed Starbucks to make rope drop. That's the only way I'd accomplish it! Question: how much does your ability to blaze through so many rides depend on your intimate knowledge of the park? Are Fantasyland rides all bunched together where they're easy for first-timers to find? (I imagine so, given the time checks you gave us.) How detailed is the app's map? Does it pay to have a supplemental physical map, or is the phone map enough if you're new? Your videos always make me feel better. All the best from East Tennessee!
Yvonne Rogers some tourists look at the map before visiting and do research. They always look athletic and fast walk straight to Peter Pan’s Flight. I call them “soccer families”.
If you're going to Disneyland for a vacation and want to get everything done in the few days you are there then going early is the best option! Going on Monday-Thursday (except when its a holiday Monday or during big holiday periods like summer and Christmas) is ideal because its usually quite a bit quieter than weekends.
So true alone isthmus best
So i went on a rope drop at disneyland probably ~4-5 years ago. (Maybe, i have to find my keepsakes from it) but essentially the time before this said ropedrop adventure, splash mountain was closed. So on ropedrop it was straight to splash mountain. My family were mad we got wet the first ride of the day but at the end they gave all of us (first riders) lanyard fast passes for every ride for all day. It was absolutely incredible and my family cheered up significantly. Just curious, how often does stuff like this happen?
Another fun thing to do is to do the I guess you would call it gate drop. Were they open the gate to Toontown. I think that usually occurs about an hour after the official drug drop in front of the castle.
Right before you went on Alice, I heard the clapper!! Have you met the clapper?? He does that clap rhythm and walks around Disneyland.
* love
Just a helpful tip, for Peter Pan's Flight you can go the route like Max and go first thing or during the fireworks when the area behind the castle with Peter Pan's Flight, the carousel, Mr Toad ect is closed off you can actually wait in line by the roped off area for Peter Pan's Flight so you get a great spot for the fireworks and basically don't have to wait in line
Emily White -it's probably me but I don't understand what you mean by how not to wait in line at night. Do you see the fireworks and then you are able to get on ride. Why is it roped off? (Going for 1st time in August so that's probably why I don't understand)
What is like to stay at the Grand Ca hotel is nice as they say it is please let me know Mrchezzypop.
Tragedy... I slept through my Magic Morning... was able to get to the park at 8:45 and salvage the morning w a FP for Space!
Is mrcheezypop gonna be at Disneyland on june 30th- july 2nd
AWESOME VIDEO! My question is how do you get into the park at that time?? I know you said you're staying at the hotel buuuut, if we are not how can you get there, i thought the parking structure didn't open till 9? I've been a AP holder for few years and I've yet to do this with my kids. lol
Parking opens an hour b4 the first park does. That gives you an hour to get in line at the gate
What camera stabilizer are you using that can counter that wild rope drop zooming?
The Extra Magic Hour is the best thing ever! We hit so many rides with our kids in that first hour so that we made sure that we got to everything they had to do early!
i always try to get there for magic morning, but it looks like you were there on a weekday. is that right?
