Man, I am a newbie in tech with some basic html and css and seeing you like this crushes my heart not only because I am a huge fan but also because I realized I still have a marathon to run before getting to the starting line.
Dude I have a bachelor's degree in cs with a lot of advanced projects and quite a lot of knowledge of various languages and frameworks. It's almost 2 years after I graduated and I don't have a job yet. If you're trying to get a job by being self taught I'd recommend staying in your current job and not wasting your time. There's very little chance you'll get a coding job. The self taught dev days are pretty much over.
Tech companies need to start taking risks again . Sometimes you won’t get the quality you think you’re getting from someone with 5-10+ years of experience. They could want more money or maybe they’re not coachable because they have their own method, etc. Giving someone a chance that doesn’t have the same amount of experience but has the desire to learn and grow will be more of an investment. Guys don’t give up. Some of us have been at it for 6 months, a year, two years and nothing. Remember why you started this in the beginning. You can do it. We all have different skillets and ideas that are valuable to any company. It’s there, it just takes the right person to see it. Show that the hard work will pay off. I’ve been at it for two years almost 3 but I know that I’ll have a job as a ux/ui designer. I can’t stop now not after all of the tears and hard work I put in . Love you guys :)
Keep your head up man! I think it’s super important to show the harder parts of the industry, instead of the glamour of working and money and freedom. There are darker parts of this industry and this market. You got this dude.
I was laid off from a senior dev position in June. I was told a new policy came up that contractors can not be at the company longer than 10 months. i was there for 18 months. I was told around the 15 month mark that they loved me, wanted to hire me, but they were only allowed one new hire that was a staff level. So they need to wait. So I waited. I was asked if I wanted a promotion to a tech lead, and I declined for the time being. A few months later I was told I am being laid off. I have been on 9 interviews and still nothing.
HOW DO YOU HAVE ALL THESE SKILLS AND STILL BECAME LAID OFF 😫😭😭 SO. WHATS IN STORE FOR US NEWBIES. SMHHH IS THERE EVEN GONNA BE WORK FOR US WHY ARE YOU TELLING US TO GET INOT TECH PLEASE EXPLAIN?????????
Well you have to keep in mind that Chris is looking for a specific salary range and remote setting. Otherwise, he would have had a job lined up fairly quickly.
Thank you for your content as a new developer this channel helps and motivates me with the right information, cheers brotha stay safe and keep up the solid work.
I haven't watched the full video yet but why don't you try freelancing while you wait for another job? The reason I mention I haven't watched the full video yet is because you may have already mentioned later in the video 🙂
@@RealChrisSean if so, why to be a developer bro ? 😅 I mean successful UA-camrs or Twichers earn much more than engineers at Netflix and they do their jobs in their home.
@@-Engineering01- If I was secure I'd work on my own applications or build a product or service for sure, I was streaming for a while but I stalled for a bit myself.
Thank you for creating this content. Not many people share how hard the interview process can be. Building and learning in the process definitely helps. To anyone in the same position keep at it if you can and have the means to do so. Persistence is key, but also make sure to make time and space for the things you miss out on when you have a full time job.
Love this video and the beat in the beginning SF sounds to be dangerous I did see in a documentary that police basically protect the empty luxury stores
Tech industry is completely gone. People with 5+ experience have been looking for 2+ years for a job. Don't even try to get a job, because you eventually will but will take years.

Me too, I'm only just learning HTML and CSS, we got a race before us fam, it's gonna take dedicated and effort

😂😂😂 right. They said get into tech, then they get laid off and have so much skills. I’ve seen this happen to so many people and it sucks.

Bro, no need to be embarassed. Your chair is awesome. I need an ergo-chill-work chair with cup-holders like that.
If the situation is not good for people who work in tech, imagine how tough it is to work in any other industry. keep it up man, all the best to you.
Can you create more tech side Hustle videos? Tbh I just want a tech job for some money to help build my side hustle into Independent income lol

These new horror stories of people being laid off is not a good sign for us new developers
I hear govtech is layoff proof
I'm focusing on solidity to get into a smart contract developer role
🔥🔥🔥 content! Appreciate the transparency
how did you get to offer stage and then find out it is office role??? did not ask if office or remote in initial call???
