Lance is such a wealth of information and a well spoken guest that it is always a great pleasure when he's on site. I was really learning today, I had no idea about how cattle are rated and evaluated. It really made a lot of sense the way it was explained. Efficiency means a lot and over feeding or under feeding can make or break and operation. Looking forward to the next time.

Really enjoyed it Mike. Talking with Lance was very educational. I love to listen to someone who knows their stuff. Even if it is something I know nothing about, it is interesting and I learn things I would not normally even think of. One of my supervisors years ago used to refer all questions for our office to me. He called me his "veritable warehouse of worthless information"!! And he would add, "that someday may just save your life, or your wallet! The only drawback in extensive learning, is that the learning will point out how much you still don't know!! But I'm workin on it!! Thanks Mike, I get lots of learning here.

Alfalfa cubes were originally cubes. My recollection is that they were about 2” cubes. In the 1960’s cubes were developed to export Californian alfalfa to the pacific rim. The two big advantages were that the processing plant could adjust the moisture level in the cube so that they could ship without fear of mold, and they could be moved as bulk cargo like grain.

We're still trying to find hay that doesn't cost as much as gold. Our pastures are just dead bare and completely dry and so many of us up here in Montana are struggling this year. Having all the extra feeding help is very valued. Thanks guys!

Watching this video and getting a bit more knowledge about the science in feeding I realized how non-existent that knowledge was when I was young. My grandfather would roll over in his grave. He wouild send us out as kid's to cut and bale a field and his only concern was that we didn't cut weeds into the hay i.e. rag weed, loco weed ect and mix it up in the hay. His main concern was keeping it clean and dry. No knowledge of protein ect. Keep the videos coming the younger generation will really benefit. Your Canadian fan/friend.

Mike, this is off of the website, they are Kiwi owned "This year, Hustler celebrates its 60th anniversary! We are a 100% Kiwi-owned company, based in Hastings, Hawke’s Bay since 1961."
this defiantly seems fitting for the motor home to be named "kiwi".. honestly originally thought of something like "the naked hustler".. but if he camps out at the odd truck stop, he may get a knock at the door once in awhile.. depends if he's into that may still be fitting.. but advise against this.. so I've heard.... thinkin' "Kiwi" is a go to! looks like awesome equipment

Mike, did you feel the "big" slug in your arm-Thank you for being ambassador to your livestock and wanting to know about BCS/nutrition. Lance was great today with wealth of information. Especially, feeding to much protein that affects birth weight. Certain breeds of bulls that have high birth weights have longer gestation and those are the ones that you need to be careful with in feeding

Call it the Hustler...as far as feeding Mike get a tub grinder guy in so you can mix multiple bale qualities in one pile then feed that out to the cows...after doing this for the last 18 years I have to say it's the most efficient way to feed dry feed sources

What a great video!!!! I liked the knowledge of the cow shape…. Some of the cows in the Big Horn Basin cows are about a 2 or 3…..Terrible shape….definitely need some groceries…The ranchers seem to get more cattle and feed less…We’ve seen some cattle in Montana…some cows are in the 1or 2 …..So sad…Thanks again for a great formative video…Lance is a great rancher and salesman….
