You're an excellent presenter. You play a lot yet give useful information. And you can play percussively as well as lyrically so one gets a sense of the different ways the piano can sound and you play at different dynamic levels. And you can play in many styles well, which gives even more of a sense of the capabilities of the instrument. Bravo. The CLP685 is a fine instrument. It has more piano sounds than the lower-range models, better speakers, more advanced action.
Obrigada
Sir, I wish to invest in a new digital piano. I did some research on UA-cam and finalised Yamaha clavinova clp 645 which had their reputed nwx action. recently in August 2020 Yamaha has launched its clp 700 series and now I am also looking at clp 7:45 which has got their new action by the name grand touch s. I tried to search online but I could not get a comparison review between both actions and hence I am confused between clp 645 with nwx action or clp 745 with grand touch s action. Kindly guide me as to which one should I choose because both digital pianos are in my budget range but I want to make an informed decision and I need your guidance in that respect. Hoping to hear from you soon. Thanks and regards:: K. Lalith , Compose email
Hi there! Great review! I am in the market for a new digital piano and doing my research. I am particularly interested in the CLP-675 and CLP-685. However, what concerns me a bit is, that a few customer reviews complain about the mechanic being too loud - even with the highend models of the CLP-600 series. Currently I am playing on a Yamaha portable grand dgx-630 and one of the reasons I wanna switch the most is its annoyingly loud keyboard (I mostly play with open headphones, and playing soft is not fun at all when you hear the keyboard louder than the actual notes). Can you comment on this? Do other brands offer more "silent" digital pianos in this pricecategory or is it just something one has to live with? Thanks! :)
FluffyFractalshard I can help you. The GrandTouch graded linear keys have the most silent keys, while the older versions of the CLP-600 series have GH3 triple sensor keys or NWX keys. NWX aren’t* the heaviest keys you can get (GrandTouch is heavier) but aren’t too loud. The oldest keys you can get on a digital piano are on all of the DGX series, the P45 and P125 and on some of the Arius models: they are called GHS keys and lack some features that intermediate to advanced players will notice. They are made of plastic and are the loudest keys out of all of them. If you’re looking for good action and quietness, go with GrandTouch keys or GH3 Keys.
@@agaveboy hey thanks for the elaborate answer, I appreciate! However after researching a bit more I bought the Kawai CA-79 and its keys are very silent and feel amazing! probably similar to the grand touch of yamaha..
@@FluffyFractalshard I Like Yamaha because it is heavier than Kawai. I can't decide between CLP-675 and CLP-685. Is there any real difference in the feeling of playing between them?
@@agaveboy I always thought that you'd have a much better product by getting the 685 than 675, but seems that the money difference does not compensate. By the way, i find nothing about the key feel of this model, does it replicates a long piano key with the center pivot like kawai does, or is it a more sinthetic feel? The feel is what most concerns me
Hello, Mohammed! Thanks for your inquiry and interest in Sweetwater for your Yamaha Clavinova. Your question is a subjective one, and its answer is really going to depend on what it is you're looking for from a feature set POV. I'm happy to discuss these with you. Please feel free to contact me to discuss further. Thanks again! Greg Savino, Senior Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1357
I think they should stop making uprights as that's a poor legacy compromise and only make varying depth of baby grands. Even rethought digital forms, like without the lid and shallower. Not quite a coffiny yet still very elegant, even more. Rather than 2 small speakers, maybe a stylized form of the string array. Could just be metal print lines or inlaid strips.

que achou do CLP? Tbm estou pesquisando entre acusticos e digitais, pensei entre KAWAI e CLP...
This guy is the best jazz player I have ever heard demonstrating a digital piano. Well done! i would have liked more right hand solos...
Excellent presentation and what talent. I could listen to you play all night.
I like the idea of synthetic ivory keys. Presumably, they come only from synthetic elephants. BTW, it's a beautiful-sounding instrument.
How much I love the pro's of a digital piano there is nothing that compares to the resonance if real vibrating strings.
I really like the sound and light touch of the Kawai CA79 but that Organ Tutti sound might sway me! Hope the Grandtouch action isn't too heavy.
it's too heavy

Nezhla Aghaee nope, CLP-675 is cheaper and more “worth it” :)

Excellent demo, but the side shots with you looking at the other cam don't quite work. Still worth watching, though.
Philip Cresswell isn't that the fault of the editor?
Hi... Please make a video about CLP 675
Thank you
$5,799.99 price tag.
HELLL NAWHHUUUHAAHUUHAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAA
My dream
I can't believe you played non-piano sounds for the second half of the video...if I wanted a synthesizer I'd just get a motif, not a digital piano.
I thought these keys were Made of real wood?
CLP 685 OR CSP 170 which one do you recommend ?

Always look at your audience, the side shot looks silly and you are not talking to us!
He was looking at the cameras. Blame the editors for choosing to use the side shots from cameras he wasn't looking at
I rather get an acoustic bro.
@Peter the Angry and Disillusioned Rabitt 35,000 ? Jezz what accoustic piano is that? You find much cheaper uprights than that
Strings are, as ever, rubbish.
Gary J. Good thing it's a piano and not a synth
