I was there for this Mr.O in New York. I can tell you that it was a mind blowing event. All of these top 5 could easily beat anyone from today's guys. All incredible condition and shape. 90s was definitely the best time in Bodybuilding. I can tell you that in person Flex looked amazing, but Ronnie beat him because he was tighter and ripped in the glutes and hamstrings.
Strange how Nasser's arms looks so huge in FDB and so thin in SC. God damn! Kevin's side chest is absolutely fantastic in terms of size and proportions. He fill the pose so well, so artistic, so balanced and yet so monstrous and colossal.
When Ronnie turned to the back, it was lights out game over for everyone. It was like Ronnie brought in the beginning of a new era of detail and muscularity while everyone else were still dragging on the early to mid 90s era look. The amazing X-frame with wide back flowing down to striated developed glutes tied into hamstrings. Look at that back double bicep. What's crazy is when other bodybuilders thought they caught up a few years later thinking this was Ronnie's final form, Ronnie hit them with the 2003 transformation
I worked in a supermarket as a cashier in the 90s, and my dad was a supermarket director in another store and of course we both worked out. The muscle magazines then were super high quality & I remember the 1998 Olympia issues... these *_sold out!_* The distributor was happy AF 😂 he claimed he never had such demand!
Wow my eyes loterally can not choose a winner. They all have amazing size, shape, conditioning, separation, and fullness. Any one of them would have won the past 5 olympias.
I've always strongly agreed that it's the best top 3 ever by far. But it is probably the best top 5 too tbh. One of the best if not the best Olympia ever. 1991 was phenomenal too.
This was the greatest top five ever although there were few earlier in the 90s with Dorian that were pretty damn good also. New Year Ronnie Coleman in those three or four guys were all right around 300 lb I believe was 2003 that was a great one also. I was sitting in the fifth row in the VIP section and it was mind-blowing because every one of those guys was that they're all time best. Everybody knew the crown was up that you just had to go after it. Flex wheeler was the big favor going into that show and he delivered he looked ridiculous. Nasir threw down the best conditioning and just the best package he ever put on stage at that show. He was freaking enormous. For his height Shawn Ray had the best legs of anybody on stage. Kevin's arms were so freaking big it kind of threw off the rest of the physique and 98 and his chest was really small. Can you imagine being flex wheeler and teaching Ronnie Coleman how to really use drugs and then he takes your title. Really the difference came from behind once they turn to the back it was game over. Not because anybody else was off they all look their best but when Ronnie turn to the back it was game over. Great video
Nasser beating Levrone in the rear lat spread? that's ridiculous and I don't see how you could interpret that picture as Nasser being better. Levrone has much thicker lower lats, rhomboids, and overall a thicker back.
@@atomthorium3744 Yes the gyno was very distracting. However, you can't see it from the back shots where he destroyed every single bodybuilder in existence at the time.
I am new and don't really understand how the judgements are made. So judging by whose body I would have - 1. Flex 2. Kevin 3. Ronnie 4. Nassir 5. Shawn
not a big fan of flexs physique here. Had a great year or two, but looks too odd imo after that arms look pretty awful in some poses, calves look pretty out of place too. Really doesnt matter who uses what, just matters how it looks, and his site enhancements dont look great.. Knees are too pointy, quads too short too, looks like mismatching pieces. Id also put him in last in the ab and thigh 11:45, not sure why hes in the middle.. Has the least V taper out of all of them. Everyone else looks like classical statues, but flex looks really odd. Ronnie is a monster, but still looks great hitting it
What i like the most about today’s bb is youtubers who point out when body parts are suspicius and often juges cant over look it and have to mark them down. With all the videos online it has become hard to turn the blind eye. Hadi lost an Olympia due to the pressure of social media. I wonder what Flex’s 98 and up physique would have been marked down with todays social media. Not to mention Nasser of course
@@nickbritten8132 It’s similar to what Lou Ferrigno had in his calves in the early 90s. The oil makes the calves bigger, but shapeless and doesn’t flex right at all.
@@wildmanz8233 Interesting…I did not know that…had to look that up…seems it was replaced by synthol years later. Either way, Flex’s calves were injected for size, and looked terrible from behind.
How can Kevin be on the sides with front lat. he was litellary wider than ronnie in that shot(ronnie is still first imo) but flex wheeler beating him? flex was narrow as heck
During Yates smokes everybody in this event had he returned he would have been mad about what happened in '97 people doubting him and he would have won again even Kevin leroni said that that if Yates returned he would have beat Ronnie and I challenged somebody to prove me that he wouldn't have Yates was King supreme at that point
not sure that he would with the injuries but without them most definitely. Even Levrone said on RX muscle that Yates would beat Coleman in '98. Coleman barely beat Flex that year and had bad gyno lol.
@kaden88 I hear you when you say that but why did Ronnie Coleman never beat Dorian he never won anything until Dorian retired and when people go oh well he wasn't the same Ronnie Coleman Yes he was look at Ronnie Coleman from 9596 and 97 he looked absolutely awesome but he still didn't come close to Dorian My brother went to the 96 Olympia and he said that when you see Dorian in person it's like they palumbo Kevin levrone Steve weinberger all those guys have said the cameras and videos don't do him justice He's somebody you have to see in person and you see why he's beating those guys they said he's literally like superhuman when you see him in real life and that's why Dorian was so hard to beat sometimes on video he doesn't come through right because he doesn't have the huge biceps same problem with Lee Haney Lee Haney had small biceps which is what makes people stand out sometimes but lehaney was huge but sometimes it made him appear to be small same thing with Dory Dorian was the biggest dude on the stage but he had smaller biceps so sometimes people think Ronnie was this massively bigger guy no he was not dorian's the mass monster he started it yeah at the end Ronnie Wade 10 12 lb more than Dorian but most of their career no Dorian was the bigger guy
@kaden88 dorian's side tricep is one of the best of all time and his front latch spread and rear lat spread is untouchable I know Coleman's is good and everybody says that but even weinberger said that Dorian you had to be seen to be believed in real life he said you just don't understand what he looked like unless he was standing there he said with apologies to Coleman this is weinberger saying at the judge saying Dorian had the best back he'd ever seen
levrone looks absolutely fking incredible just standing there... i wish i could have his physique for one day LOL
His SC, ST and MM(hand clasped) are 100% historical.

Great video , Really Awesome!!!!
They all arguably could have won that year. Greatest Olympia of al time!
no
Ronnie was arguably the greatest physique ever at this show
No, Coleman was the clear winner.
Ronnie is clearly the best in this comparison for me. Flex Wheeler's physique seems so fake here.
92, 93 and 98 all had unbelievable lineups
No RONNIE WINS.
Also 99 lineup>>>
synthol in flex triceps and also in Kevin triceps is vivid, its so unusual. Shawn ray is a work of art and Coleman is matchless.
Kevin Never Used Synthol, You Dumbass.......

I went to the Olympia in Atlanta.pretty much the same lineup.I can’t recall the year .Dorian won.Great show
Anyone from this top 5 can be our 2022 and 2023 Mr.O
Size-Nasser
Shape-Kevin
Symmetry-Flex
Conditioning-Ronnie
Separation-Ronnie
Posing-Shawn
Ironically Flax has a clear asymmetry, thats why he pose FDB and A&A while twisted. If you meant to say proportions(not symmetry) thats another story.
Love videos like this 😀 fantastic
Since the top 6 is the same for 99... and probably 99 even better... top 5 of 99 the greatest? A comparison maybe 😉
Cmon, man. Kevin strong second in both lat spreads.
yeah. Marx never does pay attention to him in these shots. especially in front lat
5:52 wow it must have been amazing to see Kevin in person. He looks huuuugggeeeee
he looked incredible on the footage. cant even imagine how it looked in person.

Nasser El Sonbaty looks so perfect 🔥🔥🔥
