How to fix BMW ABS error in 2 minutes

  • Error 5DF0, 5DF1 Hydropump
It’s most likely the connection between ABS control unit and the pump itself (cold soldering)
This is obviously more of a joke and not a longtime fix. Works for a few days/weeks tho

Had the yellow brake light and yellow triangle light with the arrow around it, after driving in the rain today. Did exactly the same thing this guy in the video did and the lights went away before I got out of my neighborhood. Thank you so much 2008 BMW 335i E92

You can also reverse over a small bump (like a curb) after starting the car, and then drive forward, sometimes it jogs the pump and causes it to work again lol

@@oggody1409 From my experience the fault was seized brushes on the motor of the DSC module (does ABS, traction control, cruise control), the unit that he was smacking. You need ISTA+ and a K+DCAN cable to check for error codes 5DF0/5DF1 to confirm your fault is the same (search youtube for these codes, it'll explain it better than me and show you your options ). Apparently it's not an uncommon fault for these modules produced between 2006-2008, generally fitted to E9x models. BMW quoted me AU$6,000 to replace the unit, I managed to complete the repairs for AU$200 by getting a second hand unit and swapping only the mechanical part of the DSC module (apparently the electronic section is coded to the car and you can't just swap the whole unit). You can see what I did by searching youtube for 'Brandon Crick 335' (not me) from 6 years ago. The INPA software will do the brake bleeding for you once you've swapped out the unit, again, youtube is your friend here.
