Just bought the Caro course, really thankful to have found your channel and the teachings you provide for free to us all. Absolute star, keep going strong mate. Cheers
Bought the Caro course a month ago, currently hitting new all time highs with a 60% win rate with black, up from 45% previously
@@andrewblennerhassett5498 happy to hear mate!
Thank you for the discount, looking forward to checking them out.
@@AlexBanzeacan u let chessable know there subscription page is no working?. Thx
Learning the jobava as an 1800 and getting wins, caro kann my first love in chess, due to your videos. Dude, no one provides better opening videos than you!
How long to get to 1800 for you?
@@kaidoChess 2 years
Same rating, same openings lol
@@andrewwong6500 what ? am at 1400 in 3 months only , did you study in these years ?
Amen
Alex is absolutely right on this one. Both openings are used at the very top level and both are easy to learn for beginners.
Hi Alex - Your Vienna, Jobava, and Caro videos have helped me more than any other content!
I stumbled upon your videos 2 days ago and I have just fallen in love with them. I might be a filthy 900elo player, but I really appreciate simplicity of your teachings, and really enjoy the sometimes poetic or just plain funnny style of your monologues. Keep up the good work!!!
I like the new camera (?) and background setup, it looks really good. I love these videos that you keep pumping out, can't get enough of them. Keep it up and I hope your Chessable sales are good man, because the courses are really good.
Thanks for the videos Alex.. you’ve helped my game immensely
I recently discovered your chanel. This will totally change my POV regarding my openings. And it's a lot of fun also. Thank you
I love your content, i've learned so much! Thank you
I love your vids, thanks for the teachings :)
Always love the content! Bought the Caro course a few weeks back, am working my way through it
Where did you buy it from?
I like how you keep upgrading the quality of your videos
As always. Best caro/london contant :) keep it up!
Hi Alex, just want to say I'm really enjoying your content. The way it is explained helps me a lot. Also getting to see multiple variations is really helping (ie Advanced Caro-Kann then classical variation).
Thanks Alex. I started playing both of them and your videos are very helpful.
as always another great video. I am so happy I found your videos. They have been very helpful
Ok, so this video's intro spoke to me. I play the London and the Caro, and I have a huge scar forever over my eye from the baseball bat when I was 7. I have no idea what you were trying to say in that intro, but at least I know why I suck at chess and where these cravings for dog poop are coming from. Thank you, Alex.
My favourite part about watching Alex is that he always reminds and explains every single games again and again. Now, i can remember most theory just chilling and watching him
Just discovered your channel, what a fun way to approach chess, thank you :)
Only 2 openings I use and you’ve Bergen so helpful! Thanks!
Thanks again Alex! After playing several other openings, I have gravitated to Caro Kann and Jobava London. Imagine my happiness whenever you unleash new videos like this!
Also thanks for the laughs.
I love these series @AlexBAneza, it would be great if you would continue them for stronger oposition like 1800 to 2000
I love watching your chess videos Alex! Your funny metaphors and occasional intentional & playful self-deprecating style in addition to your excellent chess mastery make every minute both useful and entertaining! I'm a beginner at chess but I feel like I've learned a lot from you. Thank you so much.
Best chess content on UA-cam. Have almost all of your Chessable courses 💪🏼
Looking good Alex. Your Jobava and Caro videos have helped me more than any other content
Right!? Me too! I'm new to chess and spent the last few months sifting through YT content and I naturally gravitated to both the London and Caro games because they're easy for beginners to pick up on but finding these vids is what got me finally winning more games than not. I know what you meant by "looking good" but I'll just say it he's also one foxy dude. haha
@@RickL555 He sure is!

@@RickL555 are you guys gay?
same!!
It’s funny reading the title and already knowing that it was going to be the London and the Caro Kann.
I recently completely changed and simplified my opening repertoire to being caro kann/ london; nice to see that I made the right choice! Thanks for the great content
I like your humor, thanks for the tips
It's so fortunate to know that there is an IM who plays the same openings as myself. Love to watch these series where you playing with players below 2000 elo. Keep up the good works
Thank God! I was starting to have withdrawal symptoms from Alex's videos.
I was feeling the same haha
Lately I’ve only been playing the jobava as white and caro-kann as black.
Crazy how well it works and easily the two transpose into other positions. even in the 1500-2000 range in blitz.
Really superb channel, subbed :)
Man I want to thank you for all your content and knowledge. I have been stuck around 1200-1300 for years with no goal or strategy just playing moves. I am now 1436 and on a 12 game win streak. I have purchased your caro and london chessables. I literally just learned the knight forking the queen variation Englund: 2...Nc6 3.Nf3 Qe7 #1 and first game after learning it used in on a 1446 rated player. You are the man!
Can you briefly explain about the difference between the london and jobava
Thanks in advance I will be watching this whole video 🙏🏻 I have upped my game since watching your jobava video from a few weeks ago.
Two openings I studied the most that got me up to 2000 was the English and Sicilian. Strangely lots of people from 1300-2000 misplay against the flank pawn openings. Great video nonetheless!
Interesting!
Yeah simply because they are so uncommon.
On the lichens database you can see that the English is played less than 3% in the rating range you specified.
E4 and D4 openings have well over a billion games played combined, the english only 54mil.
So when people start out and learn Theorie they will skip over it as they will only face it about 2-3 times as black in 100 games played. Meaning you'd go days and sometimes over a week with regular play without having to face the English.
Therefore when you play it you always have the Theorie advantage on your side.
@@MCoTEDDY
He is also refering to Sicilian, which likely is the most common opening.
The reason why people missplay them is because they are out "theoretizised". Ppl who play Sicilian tend to know their particular brand/line extreemly well while white would need to know 4-5 times as much theory, as black you just need to know your specific lines. If you are a Dragon player, all you need to learn is the Dragon. If you play The Sveshnikov, all you need to learn is The Sveshnikov etc, etc while white needs to learn all of them.
The solution for white is to play moves that don't let black define what line of Sicilian we are playing. Second move c3, b4 or similar works and the amount of times black misshandles it is far higher then misshandling his pet theoretical lines. I have played the flank gambit quite a bit against Sicilian, but its unknown for good reasons. I am willing to play a bad opening to avoid players pet lines. There are other lines against Sicilian where white don't need to learn 5 times the amount of theory black does Various versions of The Closed Scilian is less shit then the flank gambit.
There are some opening/lines that are harder to play against simply because your oponent is so much more read up on the theory.
Against e4 Sicilian and French Defence is two typical openings where this is true.
However, with French Defence the exhange variant is fairly simple and also French Players tend to hate it.
With black answering e4 with e5, white pretty much dictates the opening unless black plays some obscure sideline.
Problem with obscure sidelines are that they are obscure for a reason.
caro kann and jobava videos are a blessing. Even tho I'm taking a break from chess cause I'm hardstuck at 1400 (and pretty depressed about it) I still watch every video
"The addiction of a dog eating his own poop"....holy cow hilarious!
Please bring out more content loving you style am an 740 rated player in my 50's only started recently and having good success with the caro need to improve my white openings though keep up the good work
bro i started chess literally 6 months ago, and i recently started watching your videos and let me tell you!! Shit works!! ive been studying your lines and went from 500 elo to 1000 elo in a few weeks of watching your videos. ive been playing the jabava london, and karo for the most part, unless i encounter d4, and then i play the kings indian.. between watching your videos and playing lots of puzzles i have really seen improvement in my game. the jobava is one of my favorite openings. now im only seeing maybe 1 blunder every 3 games which is a huge improvement for me. I had games where i would have 7 blunders lol..
Great content!
Hi Alex, Would you consider a Slav chessable course to pair with the CK?
Need this
I listen to your opening, and then I laugh as I look at my dog that eats his own poop....with more sympathy now, lolllll
LETS GOOOO, I was dying for a new video
Oh god, my first try of e5 instead of Qd2 like in the first game (2:48) ended exactly as you predicted. So cool :) thx for your videos!
omg! While watching this I started playing and my game went exactly as the first game of your video! LOL thanks Alex 😊
More Vienna content please 🙏
Yes please and also what to do as black when 1.d4
I support this!!
@@Reclaimer88yes I struggle against d4 even though I’m 1700 rated 😂
London and caro looks brighter with alex's new hair. Thx for the vid as always
Openings were fun to learn :) I wish I could say the same for end game strategy! I get no where in the end games and it’s not fun like learning openings lol.
"more than the addiction of a dog eating his own poop" bro calling out my dog hahaha
Appreciate the new video.
If you say it, I believe it. Your lessons have helped tremendously. Thank you.
What up Alex! I've Gone up over 140 points since getting your karo course. Thank you!
Got my first Greek gift to work perfectly! Thanks for your help!🎉
I was desperately Waiting for your video..❤
“I lose because I have a small pp but you guys don’t have that problem so.. you’re gonna win!!” 😂😂😂
alex, alone for your legendary references, i started watching you :D
hi alex thank you for the good job to do for us and for the amazing tarta.....i love to play the tarta and win of course...
I only watch Alex’s videos to see the infamous Pawn Cube. Might as well resign when you see an opponent pull one out 😂
I love Alex's metaphors even when he thinks they don't make sense.
I have made the experience, that in the Tartakower the bishop sac on h3 works most of the time, about 9 out of 10 times. If not a mating attack, then at least in an endgame with 4 vs 1 pawns on the Kingside, even with a piece down Black has good chances of confusion the opponent.
But I must admit I am talking about Club Level. On highest level it might not work, I don't know.
You are a great chess teacher.
When can we expect the Jobava Chessable course?? Super excited for that!
I’m working on it, but not for chessable (they already have a lot on that)
Absolut genial. "What is the ȘPIL" :D. Nu doar sah ci si comedie
Thank you
Salut Alex. Where do you play chess in Bucharest? I live here as well.
Awesome stuff! Picked up the Caro course and won my first advance with 4. Nc3 variation. I usually score between 62-67% and lose most games but after a small amount of study I scored 91 in this game. Only first game I know but the opening makes a whole lot more sense now. Thanks dude!
More than happy to help

I'm about 1800, and I still play the London system. Great video Alex!
I literally got the same opening as the 1st game as soon as I hopped in game and it worked!
Do you teach the Jobava London on Chessable as well?
Ive forgotten how to play chess i just spend every game trying to remember move sequences i saw on youtube and i lose
How do I play the Caro vs a flank opening like the Bird tho?? Is there a basic line to generally follow?
Hair lookin fresh
Jobava kind of working for me but black im struggling with so this is a great video for me thank you.
Lmao love your videos man, so entertaining. "Magnus does Magnus things... But us.... The mortals.." hahahaha never change bro
Oh i love the 1st trap vs KID. It's a mess for me to play against this opening (i did not work hard your course) hence i like this idea. Not sure to meet the same condition but I will try to keep in mind
Just wondering what do you do when they play 1.e5 against the Jobava?
Epic motorboat attack @43:01
Caro kann and rui lopez are my strong weapons ! Please do some rui lopez videos
White : london system
Black : e4-> Caro Kann / anything else -> king’s Indian
Immaculate camera quality
"I lose because I have a small pee pee". Had to hit the like button after that!
"and I lose just because I have small PP..." lmfao
"give em' a check in the back rank, and then a colonoscopy" bro what? hahaha
Bro this is my chess strategy and you gave it up :P. Jobava white, Caro or Slav black
if they play NH5 engine says -1 is it still playable? I would like to see the other videos where you played against this but i dont have time to watch 3 videos 1.5h each -_-
London and Caro is basically all I play right now
Have your old London versus Kings Indian videos being archived anywhere? The older Kamsky ones when the channel was still Chess Tube. They were really good and I wanted to review the old lines 🙂
Offf, I archived over half of my videos, wasn't happy how they look compared to now
@@AlexBanzea fair enough, the content was great though 👍 thanks for always putting out high quality work
get hunted by their toxic EX , nice way to put it 🤣🤣
1:03:47 - Isn't it better to take the knight first (with check), then pick up the rook? If you take the rook first, he can then block with the knight (saving it).
nope, once king leaves 1st rank, the H1 rook will be protected by the other rook (A1)
I need all the Vienna’s games & gambit, a scandi beater maybe b4 after Qa5 kinda tricks teach them a lesson for moving queen out too early, a few apocalypse attack lines vs the caro cuz no one studies that, and a super annoying British Grand Prix vs Sicilian cuz nobody is more patient and positional than I. Also for black I need caro kann and semi slav, and a few London beaters … but that’s all, for now 😊
what do you play against d4?
Your other caro kann video says to take the night on F3?
What is jobava London named after?
I bought the London course and my plan is to make this & Caro my main openings
Finally, a true man of culture!
What do you play against d4 opening than?
Before watching I wonder if it’s the caro-cann
Day 1 third video watching Caro Kann simplified playlist,i came here for Caro but got extra with London. Ive actually never played London before cuz im using Vienna. However,i watched everything to gain extra knowledge and PP size.
"Must have downloaded his chess course from Brazzers" haha nice one
Learning Chess openings from Ivar the Boneless is awesome
In my Tartakower games as black I often find myself in slightly worse endgames, fighting for a draw. Any tips? ~1700 rating
don't enter the endgames lol!
