I have been playing this game for 15 years at a mythic raid level, and the screen is so busy I have no idea what is going on 50% of the time. This game is becoming an overcomplicated, unapproachable mess.

I have to kind of agree. The issue is that the players who tend to play over a longer term, or come back to the game, end up gaining more and more skill each time they do a boss and learn how to deal with a type of mechanic, then the designers feel they have to add more and more to make it more challenging. We end up in a situation where I looked at a cataclysm heroic boss kill on a holy priest and thought "Wait?! That's it?! That's so bloody easy, and I can even see you making multiple major healing errors in the process".
It is what it is I guess. I think this bloat also applies to class design. There used to be complex classes and simpler classes. Ones that were busy and ones that were streamlined but each had their own beauty and style. Now complexity = reward. So simple often means less efficient, when it shouldn't.
A major example of this is how they took disc priest which had a simple lower floor, and a higher difficulty higher ceiling. Then they turned it into a high floor, higher ceiling spec. Then over iterations we have a spec where you have to do a specific 15s rotation just to prepare people to be healed, to then use a cooldown that does nothing on its own, to then do a different set of DPS rotations to actually get healing out of it, as you used your powerful healing spells on full health targets to ramp into the ramp into the ramp. And now you can't do anything at all.
I know prune isn't very popular but I feel the game has become over bloated in both class design, defensives, healing and encounter design.

@@shestewa6581 I think there are classes and specs that are easier than others. Blizz does a good job introducing the spec and there are now tons of guides online to help you with your DPS. Moreover there are multiple levels of gameplay for each skill level with no real limit. Getting good at one particular class and spec can be rewarding for some people and makes them feel as though they are playing as that character when they do master it. Landing a 20 spell rotation can be incredibly satisfying especially when you see your hard work pay off (I'm thinking about window spec S1). The game has always rewarded those that are prepared and have game knowledge.
