  • Offering excellent playability mixed with superb tones and versatility in one six-string package is no easy feat. However, Cort looks to achieve this at a reasonable price with the release of the G290 FAT. Here is Sam Bell with the full breakdown.

    I love Cort guitars. This one is no exception. 21st century truss rod adjustment, ideal section necks and compound radius fingerboards perfect for my hands, and their higher end OEM PUPs never fail to please. I promised my Mrs. no more guitars for a couple of years. A G290 FAT might be the exception. Best finished guitar in my collection is my Cort Manson collaboration Classic TC. If it was stolen, I'd buy one again immediately.

      @@rolandoperrin Nice. I just (this past two weeks) bought two new amps at opportunity buy prices too good to resist, so another new axe will have to wait a while. It's want rather than need, so patience isn't an issue as long as the models remain available. Pretty sure it'll be either a Cort or Harley Benton from my wish list.

    Excelent review. Just one remark: position 2 is outer coils together, position 4 is inner coils together; not just a splitted humbucker.

    • @Petyaumniy
      @Petyaumniy 4 роки тому +3

      That's true.
      I really don't understand why so many manufacturers, who produce strats with bridge humbucker, are ignoring splitting the last one to a single. Single "single pickup" in a bridge is more than 50% of strat sound. Literally this is a essence of strat sound.
      Better change position 2 to the coil closest to the bridge.

      Yamaha. e.g. PAC612VII FM. But owning multiple recent production examples from both brands (purchased 2017 through current) manufactured in their respective Indonesian factories, *in 2019* I think Cort configure to a higher consistent real specification generally at any price point albeit using OEM unbranded hardware, finish to a higher standard, and have superior QC. Figuratively speaking, Cort product leaves Fender and Gibson at twice their price points face down in the mud.

      Bro, I am torn between 3 guitars rn.. this one for its amazing versatility, the Fender American Pro and Ultra. I love the Fender crispy glass-like cleans, but this thing pulls off great cleans too.. AND can go to classic rock hard rock, and maybe metal if you have a high gain amp behind it. Tbh, if the Fenders weren't $1600 - 2000, and more in the $1000 - 1200 range, I probably wouldn't ever be able to choose. However, for $600, this thing is starting to look like a steal. I have another Cort I put some Seymour Duncan Black Winter Pups in and its just an all around nice guitar.

      @crotts1984 3 роки тому +1

      This is my dilema as well. From reviews I'm seeing Quality on the Cort side seems to be better than the Harley Benton.
      The pickups on the Cort seemed to voiced a bit nicer, if I were to go Harley Benton I'd be considering a full swap of that stock pickup set.
      The couple things the Harley Benton fusion II has that I wish the Cort had, roasted neck, and HSH pickup configuration with toggle switch (which is the Harley Benton fusion II model I'm looking at).
      I think I'll end up going Cort, I'm also looking at their x700 duality with Seymour Duncan pickups.
