Driving Down the Mountain from Idyllwild, CA on Route 243

Love the Desert Southwest. I have had the good fortune to spend 15 "spring breaks" in Rancho Mirage in the Coachella valley and each one was a treat. We have been to Idyllwild a couple times, over the mountain from Palm Springs to San Diego many times. Spent many afternoons on horseback at various locations. The most enjoyable was our ride from Smoke Tree Stables. You have to experience the desert on horseback. Are you headed to Joshua Tree in the high dessert? Be safe, enjoy keeping up with what you are doing.
