LOL "Just costume jewelry" is what I used to call it too. Now it pays all my bills and then some. About an hour ago I posted a lot that I thought I was probably pushing the limit price-wise -$189 + shipping, but with 'make offer' available for as low as $175. About 8 or 9 minutes later my phone made the 'CHING' sound. -Someone grabbed it for my asking price, didn't even make an offer. So apparently I UNDERpriced it, despite there not being very many super-popular brand names, and it's a small enough lot to fit in a small flat rate box. Incidentally I recognize the name of the buyer -another jewelry reseller like myself, in fact I've bought from her in the past LOL. But I reckon she'll break this lot up and sell the pieces individually. Fine with me; I just don't like to wait so long for something to sell.
I know some people do really well with vintage jewelry. It's kinda fun too. If I can find more bargain jars I'll definitely do more live streams and go through them. I personally don't want to get into reselling individual pieces too much, so I just want to pull out a few keepers and sell the rest in lots.
Jewelry Jar's make for fun hunting. Not sure if you know this but gold and sterling do not stick to a magnet so I keep a magnet handy and before I squint to read for markings I just put my magnet to it and if it sticks then I know not to bother with it. If it doesn't stick then I investigate further. Also, stone jewelry can be a high ticket item so if the piece feels unusually heavy and the "beads" are cold to the touch then most likely you've got some stone.
yep, my last 2 boxes of halves i got $400 2023, $200 NFC, 10 40% and 1 90%, i thought what is going on...i thought maybe all the 2023 were NFCs but now i know the mint is producing them for circulation thanks
When I first tried out reader glasses i couldn't believe the detailing i was missing! and then it was all downhill from that point......... But anyway.. Good luck with your business! You have a great personality so you'll do well with your thing.
Your theory sounds solid , over at my favourite silver channel which is called “ my silver squad “ we got like 18 box’s of brand new uncirculated halves , yip not good but seems to be coming good again .
