Jack Lord was an amazing actor. The script was very timely based on all the terrorism in the world at the time especially hostage taking. This episode was filmed in 1974 the same year of the Patty Hurst kidnapping. The Palestinians were in full terrorist mode of kidnappings and demanding prisoners to be freed during this period of time.
Amen to that. Mr. McGarrett did the right thing. Governor Jameson did right too-by arranging his schedule so he was at the State House if Mr. McGarrett needed him.
The authorities in Ferguson, MO, would've done well to take this kind of stand after Michael Brown's death (and Minneapolis after George Floyd's departure too).
This episode just shows that terrorism even existed in the 1970s and not just here in the United States. Maybe this episode actually inspired a lot of people to not giving to terrorists.
If it existed in the media it existed in the heads of Americans. Never mind that Israel has killed far more Palestinians than the other way around and they keep taking more land.
I expected that Mr. McGarrett wouldn’t give an inch. If he, Governor Jameson, and Attorney General Manicotte gave the PAG what they wanted, they would have killed Danno anyway. I know that Professor Metzger was killed after a member of the PAG was killed in an explosive car crash while HPD was pursuing her.

I very like this film.
In here, I saw Steve worried Danno.
There were deep friendship of Steve and Danno.
I love them, especially Steve.~~~
I loved Steve McGarrett too. He was tough with a purpose. In Mr. McGarrett’s eyes, you were either a law abiding citizen or in big trouble.
Definitely a high light! Steve says some of the quotes of the series.

McGarrett and Danno are two fascinating police cops out of Hawaii
Loved this episode :-) First H5O episode I watched!
Love Jack Lord 💙
Steve, as always did the right thing. NEVER give in to terrorists.

Steve McGarrett loses his cool but super cool cop
You watch shows from the 60s/70s and you realize how troubled society was - and how time is cyclical.

Some 40-50 years later, for example, Ferguson (outside of St. Louis) is going through this in some way.
One of those young assassins was the future Officer Jon Baker...
Larry Wilcox had get his start somewhere. We could say Steve McGarrett gave Jon Baker his first big break.

So both of the primary Chips officers were previously criminals in Hawaii.

S7-E1-THE YOUNG ASSASSINS
