I had to watch this again. The way he uses color is so stunning.
The pan down to the eclectic carpet and then you see they’re both wearing a tabi. Modern artist heaven
Both of y'all matching with the Tabis
This was not purposeful 😆
That was definitely a fantasy.
@@BlissFoster made me happy to see that
Two things I just loved:
1)Your two piece wool suit.
2)The wooden pallet coffee table with the tiger on top
Bliss, so happy for you! This is amazing! Going to Antwerp, introducing us to so many designers I didn't know about, all while looking fabulous in that suit! And the matching tabi shoes!!!
As someone from Belgium I love to hear this thick Flemish accent, it makes me feel better about my own and it is also the only thing I will ever have in common with Gert 😊
It's a very pleasing accent, no need to feel bad about your own. Sounds friendly and down to earth :)
American here, I love Flemish accents
Great interview. SO much color. The synergy with Dries really shines with all the patterns and clashing colors
Oh wow, crongratulations! Thank you for bringing this to us.
Love this content, a perfect complement to your normal fare. Very glad that you’re getting these opportunities as they’re well deserved.
Bliss! This suit! These colors and textiles! Thank you for this and bravo.
I love the bizarre surrealism that comes from a theme clash in the collection of items placed in a space. It brings me a sense of comfort to have the mood of a dream world merge into reality. Kind of like how those malachite pieces look like a giant's chewed up wad of gum.
What a beautiful video. My house is pretty eclectically designed. I really enjoyed seeing all these different colors come to life.
Bliss, this is amazing to see. You have really taken the community support and reinvested it into creating such amazing and unique content, very efficiently it appears. The best part of this is knowing its just the beginning. Can't wait to do group runway analysis with footage right from the runways :)
This new content is sure to make the non-finaclncial supporters realize the value in your offerings and get on the Patreon :) Up, up, and away!
What a beautiful space to ponder in, hearing some of the intentions and considerations that led to its current state lends even more awe to it.
Can you comment the discord link for me?! I want to join it. Thank you
@@justusgreen8498 It's for the Patreon members, just check the Bliss Foster patreon link in the video descriptions. I promise you it's worth it (4 dollars), you get extended interviews, early access, and the discord is full of fashion nerds it's amazing. 💜💚💜💚💜
Wonderful! Did you two preplan the tabi shoes ? ;) Love his gestural hands
We didn’t plan the Tabis, no 😂 I didn’t even know how into Margiela he was until I showed up that day. He talks a lot about that influence in the full interview that’ll get released on the Patreon next month 💫💫
fire
Can I get a link from anyone for the sculture artist @6:04 . Also - a fascinating snoop. We can hope for more like it.
A great addition to the rest of the channel and so - a bow to Bliss for his consistently high quality content.
I 'm so happy that we recently bought one of his works
Florian Tomballe
Sad the camera work ended up been dizzying because everything looked gorgeous
Forgive my ignorance but will someone PLEASE tell me who designed this suit? 😭 Or was it tailored instead? This was so beautiful to watch. Loved every second of it 🧡
Suit is an old one from Bottega Veneta, found it for ~$100 and it fit perfectly 😌
@@BlissFoster thank you!! It looks marvelous on you. Happy turkey day 😁🦃
I'm in antwerp and I just walked past his store where he was just chilling with some dude
Congrats Bliss! I enjoyed this.. only critique is get a new shooter
To be fair, I wasn’t giving clear direction, everything you see in this vid was intended to be b-roll, then I shifted it to main footage in the editing room. Cam operator did an outstanding job considering the original goal.
Around minute 01:44, Gert says he had to redesign the prints beaches of copyrights. Can anyone explain how does copyright work in art and desing?
Delicious!
okay but can we take a minute for bliss' suit
He looks so good in it!
tabi tour =]
No IKEA furniture? Strange.
What am I looking at?
Dries Van Noten’s Interior Designer: Gert Voorjans 💫💫
They’re both in Tabi boots
Hate the bare walls. It‘s what‘s wrong with all average interiors nowadays, and I certainly don‘t see the point when money is no object. Always cold!
Bliss you look very handsome this episode, had to dress to impress huh??
mmm HMM hm.... hm
I’m a loud active-listener 😅
*"We need a flash of something **_weird_** to make it more interesting." OR ... how 'bout a **_flash_** of something less contrived, desperate and clichéd but simply TASTEFUL instead?* 😑
bro it looks like hiroshima in there wtf i wouldnt live there if i was paid looks trash to me. if someone can help me understand the appeal of this randomness lmk. looks like a hipster antique store
well....for me,its collecting pieces of you...no matter if they clash in every shape or form...I see life here, order and common sense is not required to feel like you own a space...I love it on the other hand, in my soul I am a free spirit...maybe there lies a secret of understanding simple eclecticism that here I don't feel transmitting any force of persuading audience to see what one wants the audience to see...it's just things that communicate organically...:)
@@MrCijuciju thank you for the reply, i find it ironic though, in a psychological lens, that you say its like collecting pieces of you and it looks like a catastrophic disorganized mess like most peoples psyches are. also i would prefer if rooms have order because after the chaos you encounter outside of your home, I would want to find some reassuring footing at home. My embodied reflex was "this to me is ugly, this must be wrong" but i understand that we can use floral language and call it eclectic but in turn it makes it look like a collection room that should be tucked away or some type of garage sale to me. As for communication, they obviously dont communicate as they are all from seperate cultures and styles, the only chance of communication here would be unity in dis-unity.
"Like a sculptor who lives and works among hundreds of moulds, mallets and chisels. Like a painter who always needs his brushes close at hand to capture the colourful images in his mind’s eye. Like a couturier who receives his clientèle surrounded by bolts of cloth. That’s how Gert Voorjans lives and works in Antwerp."
@@bartleirs4351 so how is it appealing to you then
@@jafggf exactly...unity of dis-unity....opposite of "Fight club modus..buy it to compensate for something or for lartpourlartistic aesthetics"...'cause most of the people do exactly that...
and if you don't feel like this particular place or space is according to your beauty standards, you obviousely seek something else on the aesthetic surface...like in music, you feel it or don't...here,I feel pleasurable comfort that speaks to me...order is neccessary of course, but I see it even in the most dissonant combos of matter in this video...
