It was visible in all 50 states in the United States. Even Hawaii, Cuba, the Bahamas, and even parts of Mexico. I drove 3 hours north from where I'm at in Minnesota. Ended up being 115 km south of the US/Canadian border. It was so strong where I was it was directly overhead and you had to look south to see them. In my 5 years of chasing northern lights this was by far the best.

I'm so sad I missed it. And Saturday was completely cloudy. It was on my bucket list of things to experience, but there was less news about this than the solar eclipse, even though this was probably immeasurably more beautiful.
I got this notification from the Aurora app yesterday saying there is a 95% chance off seeing the lights. Decided to drove until Manitoulin district, ON but had some change in plans and decided to go Vankoughnet as that was closer with higher chances to spot them. Ended up seeing some beautiful waves near Lake Joseph!

It's boring. We get them every year, every summer in Winnipeg, so they must get them all the time in Vancouver. I don't see anything so great about them.. Green flickering in the sky ? I think the stars look better and the moon is more amazing that a bunch of dim neon lights in the north. This is just news fill for the media that has nothing more exiting to report on.
