Even in defeat this monster of a horse Life is Good is even more hyped now. Now with one race under him, this dude is going to absolutely purge the next race he's in.
Mike Smith never should have let JW in the race...He had a CLEAR Lead and when JW started making up ground Mike Smith Never pushed on LIG...VERY careless ride...But Also Credit to JW he is a Bad boy
@@lagosfury5142 Not denying Jackie's Warrior is a very good horse, but at age 56 "Big Money Mike" might need to start thinking about retirement. The last couple of years have been a little lean when it comes to big wins. Rosario rode a better race.

@@hungrybruce Where have you been? Life is Good is one of the horses that were transferred from Baffert to other trainers when he was accused of medication violations, notably Medina Spirit in the Derby.
Bottom line, two warriors putting on an excellent show! Gotta give the edge to Life is Good for two reasons, this was his first race in several months off an injury and #2, it did look to me that Mike Smith didn't really rode the horse hard for most of the stretch run. Feeling here is, had Rosario rode LIG he would be posing for pictures. Not knocking Mike, he is wise enough to try and not run the horse into the ground first race back and saving horse for the Breeders Cup Big Ass Mile....? Where and what happened to Charlatan? Anybody know? Looking for more good things to come for both of these two gifted racehorses.
@ Anthony Vargas Charlatan was retired this past May when he wasnt "100%" following a breeze, said one of his owners. He will be standing at Hill 'n' Dale Farm for 2022 stud duty.
It's been a while since I've seen a race where all of the horses were so spread out in the stretch. Maybe not the best match-up of talent aside from Jackie's Warrior and Life is Good.
this race for LIG was designed to get him in competition of running again fast. he is going back to his mile and so on races with 2 turns. everybody relax LIG is back.
Scooter was already a member of Pletcher's barn when he ran this race. Baffert had nothing to do with Smith riding him. That was all Todd. I have to give him the credit of at least attempting to keep the horse's original jockey but Irad is just such a better match for him, imo.
I don't get it either. The horse was coming off a long lay-off, set crazy fast fractions, and got beat a head. It was a winning ride, just not this day. Most of the people complaining don't know what horse manure smells like.
The only thing I ever got upset about with Mike Smith was not urging Zenyatta earier in her second breeder's cup classic. She could have won that race... but as it were, she will be remembered as coming back from an impossible distance to just lose by a head... And many people still found that defeat to be even more telling of her talent... I just wish she'd have a baby that could run like she did
So Wide?...What?...He was like 2 Wide on turn into stretch...Which is NORMAL...What on earth are you talking...And if he Hugged the rail Jackies Warrior would have just pulled alongside him on the outside and ran him down
Every time i look at this race i think about what a shitty ride Mike Smith did on Life Is Good. Jackie's Warrior rider is aggressive but Mike is just 1 or 2 baby hits with the stick and hand ride.
This was perfect for him after a 6 month layoff after surgery on his foot. Now he's got his staminia and endurance back his next race he will smoke them. Good no more bob baffert and his drugs. Good luck Todd Pletcher in New York.
You guys serious? Mike Smith rode the horse perfectly. Even though this was a stakes race this was the perfect conditioning for this horse. There are more bigger races coming up for this horse. He needed this prep race. Give the jockey a break guys.
How much faster could he had run? Ten lengths is a great deal of margin. They ran in the lows 1:21 2/4 for 7 furlongs going 21-4/5 44 1/4 suicidal pace. Ten lengths from that time would had been in low 1:20’s….Not realistic
Did you see the fractions.? Did you notice how Smith thought he had the race won and then started getting into the horse after he lost momentum to JW and he responded and almost won.
Buen caballo lífe si good , lamentandolo mucho le montaron fue una momia en el lomo , con todo el respeto pero ya este señor tiene q firmar si retiro , con otro jinete fue ganado y de manera fácil . . . Ya verán q en otro próximo duelo ganará lífe is good.
How much faster could he had run? 5 lengths is a great deal of margin. They ran in the lows 1:21 2/4 for 7 furlongs going 21-4/5 44 1/4 suicidal pace. 5 lengths from that time would had been in low- mids 1:20’s….Not realistic
All of the armchair jocks in the comments are actually hilarious. Y'all be d*mning Smith for riding LIG in the same manner as usual and allowing him to run how he prefers. He had just returned from a long layoff so those who were aware of the fact weren't expecting him to actually win. He ran exactly how I assumed he would and it was just a race to get him fit anyway. To all of those who tried to make it out as if he was nothing without Baffert's juice, what do you have to say now? I mean, the last time I checked, LIG was playing games with the HOTY.
Even in defeat this monster of a horse Life is Good is even more hyped now. Now with one race under him, this dude is going to absolutely purge the next race he's in.
So true , he needed some other horse to push him back to business. His next race will be a blow out.
Absolutely. If you take this same race and take out Jackie’s Warrior, he blew away all the other horses. He’ll definitely rock his next race!
Revision is history, but he eventually ran into a real monster in Flightline
Excellent race of life IS good. He had been standing for a long time. Congratulations to Jackies Worriors...super Horse
Unbelievable race

Memo to Todd Pletcher: Put Johnny V. on Life is Good next time. Still, great race by both horses. Jackie's Warrior seems to love Saratoga

Totally agree with both. It’s so easy to criticize a ride after a horse losses a race. The horse was all out set an unbelievable pace and barely lost.
