Thanks for the update and great video! Yeah, Saturday was a very nice running day. I got out twice, good mileage for me. I also did a run Sunday in the cold misty rain but it was less than 30 minutes. That's fun for a little while before it's very much not fun. Kudos on the treadmill miles. Having a warm, dry house plus movies and snacks helps a lot I'm sure. Looking really good for Umstead!
Thank you so much! Yeah, my wife ran like 13 or 15 miles out in the rain/snow and was pretty cold when she got back. Her hands were so cold she couldn’t open her gels. Poor thing. The treadmill’s been great for me, especially on those really hot and humid days in the summer! Movie trilogies are great for super long runs on the treadmill!
Thanks for putting all the training videos together and taking me along your training runs week after week. Though I have been doing the long runs mostly solo, watching your training run videos makes me feel that I am actually training with you, as I hear your ups and downs, your thoughts while running, and seeing the scenery. Today is 2 weeks and 2 days from the race. Looking forward to seeing you in person soon again.
Thank you, Dan! I love the Fenix! I actually have two so I can swap them out at night and don’t have to use anything else. 🤣 Thank you for your kind words about my training. I have a hard time with goals that are far out, so I do a lot of “shorter” 50ks and other ultras to help keep me motivated for the big races like this. Also, as I’m sure you know, producing these videos is also a big motivator too!
Thank you so much! It is called Recovery by Karl Casey on the White Bat XI (sometimes he just goes by White Bat Audio. He has several really great albums!
@@MountTinMan I was asking about the song at 1 minute in which looks to be this one NEFFEX - Go! Thankfully I was able to find it by searching for "still go" ua-cam.com/video/X5cfg26vkOQ/v-deo.html
But in all honesty, if prescribed an 800-mile event, 4x200mi would probably be better than 1600x0.5mi like Self Transcendence race does (for 5649 laps and 3100 miles) 😅😅
Thank you so much! I’ve been working hard! Excited to be on my last big week before a couple of down weeks leading up to the race. I saw you completed your first ultra, congratulations! Great job pushing through that last lap!
Excellent, thank you for sharing!!! You have put great work to get ready for Umstead!!!
Thank you! As have you! I can’t wait for this race!

I’m so happy that you’re enjoying the videos! I can’t wait to see you, the race is so close!
You look sub-22 ready!! Looking forward to seeing you on race day (Chris, from my wife's laptop)
Thank you, Chris! I’m feeling pretty good! (And not sick this year 🤣). I can’t wait to see you in a couple of weeks!
Nice choice of headlamp! It’s my go-to. I must say that your dedication to your training is inspiring!

@@MountTinMan yes it’s a lot of fun. It does require a lot of time though!
Cheers to that! I’d love to put out more than one video a week but I don’t know how I’d fit it in.
4 x 200 mile repeats!!! Who's her coach? 😆 🤣 😂
20 miles on the treadmill is nuts. Lol.
When you’re an ultra runner I guess you think of everything in terms of miles! 🤷🏻♂️🤣
What is that song playing at about 1 minute in? I LOVE IT!!!

@@FrankHale Oh, yes! That’s my theme song! I use it for the intro of all my videos, such a great song!

I totally agree with you! 🤪😭
You make it looks so easy 😱 you are doing great MrTinMan 🫡
