Hi Mr Bruff. Wouldn't you compare Bayonet Charge with Exposure? They are both about the power of nature, however BC is about conflict hurting (killing) nature but Exposure is about nature killing conflict ("ice cold east winds..." "knive" etc.)
Wow, don't think I would have ever been able to compare BC with Emigrée! But you are right, any of them, can compare to any of the others. Just need to backup your points!
I would disagree with the comparison of "Kamikaze" and "The Prelude" as "Kamikaze" isn't really to do with nature, in my opinion, and i think it is more about honour, failing to bring that honour back and the consequences of that (loss of social contact, ultimately asking the questions: Is it better to die physcally, or die on the inside?). This point may partially agree with your "man is weak" analysis, however, I believe that is does not portray the strength of nature. A much better poem to use that successfully suggests these points quite well is "Storm on the Island" as it portrays the strength of nature, and weakness of man.
@@teabag6255 maybe remains because etheyre both war poems, there's a definite turning point in where the characters "die" and there's subtle cyclic-ness to them
For Checking Out Me History, I'd recommend comparing with Ozymandias, as they both talk about themes of identity and the past while giving contrasting views on the power of humanity.
Mr Bruff, Tissue is potentially one of the more complex poems out of the anthology. My class had a supply teacher for our lesson on this and we don't have enough time to go back to it. Please could you make a video comparing tissue to other poems. I also think that a video like this would be suitable for My Last Duchess. Thanks.
War Photographer and Remains is my go to comparison for either of those two, maybe Exposure as well - especially for Remains - because it exposes the reality and effects of war. Those three are my favourite poems!
can you please make a video with an exemplar answer which has a line argument, u said its tricky and looking at a higher level answer will be very useful, thank you.
Could I get a good grade by comparing "Storm on the Island" with "The Prelude" with the themes with the power of nature and the use of negative emotions, e.g. Fear?
Can you explain how to compare the question? I could write for hours about the poem and what it means but tying it to the question like 'nature' 'power' is so hard, i'm unsure of how to link it to the question successfully and still get language analysis in there, even when it feels irrelevant. An example being ozymandias to Place? Or Hawk Roosting to nature, when i want to discuss power.
My predication, better like this if I'm right, Ozymandias was on specimen paper so no. Bayonet charge came up last year so no Tissue is grade 9 so no I feel like there's been a lack of nature questions in previous exams so I think it's Prelude or Kamikaze final guess: prelude
