I've been using MIK since '07 (launched in '06) and my only gripe with it as a sample manager is how clunky it can be with larger collections. Lately, I have been using Loopcloud as a sample manager. It's much faster and much more stable. On top of that, you can "rewire" the Loopcloud app via a VST to clock along side your DAW's current BPM. Select a key in Loopcloud and it will automatically pitch & stretch your sample previews in Loopcloud to your DAW's current project. Something MIK cannot do. I still analyze all of my samples in MIK but it seems overkill a bit as Loopcloud seems fairly reliable. Keep in mind both apps have like an 80% success rate or something. MIK can also write the detected BPM & KEY to the file, which can be beneficial in sample search scenarios. Love MIK though fr.
I accidentally purchased this software and I intended to buy the studio edition. I gotta be honest, I ended linking this version better than the studio edition, so I’m staying with it 😎. Oh, and I used your discount code.
Virtual DJ2021 is free and gives you the BPM AND KEY and you can change both do a remix and record. l just wanted to let some people know who don't know. I remember buying this back in 2007, I'm from London and used to DJ in the London clubs, I used to pretend I was doing it all by ear 👂🤣. That was 15 years ago tho, it seems every DJ uses it as standard now

How do you explain the preloaded songs you had, have their keys listed by the artist in the title, but the tool says its a different key. Does the tool know better than the OG artist?

I remember using an sp1200 very limited, only 10 seconds of time small number screen so everything thing was done using your ears , to the swing , to the key notes , it taught you how to find the tempo using your ears only beat matching, even mixing by ear you could feel the music not see it

It's guaranteed that it's not as good as MiK, simply because it's free. MiK is not expensive tho, during a sale you can get it for under $30.
