I bought the 34 mm OP with pink dial for my wife about a year ago. The AD was great and got it for me in two months. She loves it. Probably the perfect women’s watch.

Not the prices she is quoting. Reality of market value is what you can take into a jewellers and walk our with or (if you dare) what it would fetch on an Ebay auction. Condition is obviously not taken into account, I presume these prices are for new unworn flipped watches. Most people who own Rolex are already well underwater. They don't and wont know it until they have the nightmare of trying sell their worn "luxury watch" on the open market. Not that many people really want them, especially as Rolex are going out of fashion and favour.

If you then wore the watch and tried to resell it you would have been lucky to get 60% back if it was very good condition. It took decades for inflation to make them worth even the rrp again. That's where the market will go back to. Like I say Rolex is out of fashion right now, it has a massive image crisis (boorish and try hard low-class). It comes in cycles every few decades.
Anything over retail price is a ripoff. Just don't buy it and let the prices plunge. We need to go back to the good old days of discount below retail price.
Suddenly and inexplicably in love with the Air-King. Always loved the Explorer so crown guards, some funky numerals and a splash of Aussie color has caught the attention of the restless wrist.
Picked up 16610 couple of days ago and honestly watch is amazing. I was never into submariners much but I fell in love in this one as soon I've put it on my wrist. Proportions and weight is spot on for me.
This is unrelated to the video content, but what was the design choice behind the thumbnail change? I feel like the new one is pretty "YT Watch Channel" generic compared to the old one, but I'm only one person I guess.
Hey Jen, what do you think of the ETA chrono Longines? The price dropped from £3150 to £1756 brand new. I was eyeing the flagship heratage which is £1700 but this is a chrono in the price range. am I missing something?
Excellent video, and some of these older references make great buys. If you want to miss out the dealer nonsense, buy an older reference. If you want it to feel and look like new, get a Rolex service by Rolex. My 14060m has had a Rolex service(5 years ago) and for a 22 year old watch, looks new, never misses a beat and for me personally, I prefer the simple 2 lines of text and slightly smaller to wear size. I think you could do a video on a Rolex service and how you can use it for that new watch feel on an older reference. I get that you lose the character, but for many a Rolex is not to be used as a hammer for nails, but as a grail watch/ reward. I would also love this video as you would have to say Rolex on repeat many times ❤❤❤❤

In my opinion €10k-€11k for a Submariner is a ripoff as well. This is a simple 300m diver. You can find dozen equally good divers for €1k-€4k. That is, if You care for the watch itself, not a brand name on the dial, status symbol and an image of „the guy who buys overpriced watches, to show he has a lot of money”.

But You can find comparable divers for a fraction of the price. Not only Tudor. I won’t count all the watches I have in mind here, I’ll just mention my favorite: Oris Aquis calibre 400. Comparable quality and better movement for way less money.

In the states (Ohio)there are no AD Rolex’s available. Just went to Japan, AD’s have no Rolex’s. Refuse to pay the over inflated gray market prices. Bought a Grand Seiko instead. Better watch for the money.
I wonder how those people that bought Daytonas for 65k feel with cost dropping. Rolex build solid watches. They are the Lexus of the luxury watch world. Solid and durable. They have a Mercedes + BMW combined marketing budget. No one can match the marketing machine that is Rolex. Whatever, Rolex told me to relax because I am still not worthy. I will gladly wait another 60 years and check back with them. In the meantime, I will spend my money on other watches.
Picked up an early production 2008 Deep Sea with box and papers for $9500(all in no tax) last week. MK1 dial and bezel, perfect collector piece. Looks lovely sitting next to my James Cameron Deep Sea.
Would have been much more useful if they weren't all priced in a non specific Dollar amount (US, Aussie, NZ, Canadian??) but in a variety of currencies....

Great video! 116900 wasn’t discontinued in 2015 it debuted then, It was discontinued in 2022.
