  • In part 3 of the restoration of this Fairy Tales book I talk about recreating missing pages for the book and how to attach them. I also give the audience a chance to vote on the end-papers.

OMG I absolutely love your restoration efforts, including self-publishing the missing pages - this is heroic.
Being a graphic designer I would layout the missing text from scratch, finding similar typeface etc.
But the fact you did it almost manually proves your love of the book.
I admit to once find a bunch of super lovely old small books with covers completely ripped from them - judging by the stamps there were University Library rejects.
I loved them so much that I could bear the hurt - I made new, soft covers on a somewhat antique cardstock and wrapped them in mylar. They look very very special and constitute my little found library. Thank you Thank you.

Thanks for another great video! I vote for C: you won’t miss the extra dollar or two, but always love the endpaper, when you open the book :)

You are so welcome. I think you are with the majority on the marbled paper. :)

Thanks for the update. Engaging, informative, and relaxing, as always. I vote for the brown, textured paper for the end sheets. I think it fits the age of the book better than the white and I agree that the marble is perhaps a little too nice for the job.

Thanks for the feedback Andy. I am so glad to have you watching. The brown is lovely but it is looking like the marbled is winning.

I love the marbled paper, but it seems just a hair too fancy for the style of the cover. Seems better suited to a leather cover. I vote brown.

I don't use FB Live, but did a quick search, it seems like there are tools to flip the image: Click the magic wand, click the tools, click the flip vertical.

Another amazing and informative video! However, Im a little bit lost, I'm just wondering how you set up the pages that you had printed? And did you attach them to some linin too? Or just needle through the paper?, Thank you again for sharing this!

This may be more complicated than I can address here but here is an attempt. I did not add linen. The sewing is through folded paper as most books are sewn. Any linen or mull liners are added after sewing. Cheers.

@@SaveYourBooks I see! I will have to try that myself. The book I'm working on is basically the same story book in Lithuanian, it was read to me as a child, so there is plenty of marks and the pages are ripped! It will be a big project for my first one. But this has made it so much easier, also as the content on your website! Thank you again for sharing this amazing information with us.

I am not quite sure whether there is a part missing in the story? There is the mull attached to the spine ... haven't seen how this was done? And did you attach the loose pages again?

I may have missed this step. Darn it. I also might have covered it later. Sorry for the skip.
