I had not considered moving my kits and such to the organizer. Really appreciate this tutorial. This could save me a lot of time; once I spend the time to move and tag everything. I've got digi kits going back probably 10 yrs. Wish me luck.
Carlotta Holman good luck! I personally started with my fave designers so it was less overwhelming. Note it's just linking back to the kits wherever they already are - it doesn't move the files themselves. Organizer just creates a preview :)

I like you have 36000 items and didn't know where to begin but so glad I watched your video. Sonya, I'm glad it was helpful. I use it with external hard drives. Are you using a portable drive? If the letters change on the drive, PSE won't be able to see it next time it's hooked up. You can just drag over the new kit folders as you extract them and it will do the same thing. This will also work for Mac users
Hi Shann PSE Organizer has a backup system, you will be reminded to backup regularly. To find your catalog so that you can back it up manually head to the Help menu, then System menu. The location of the catalog file currently open on your computer is listed under Current Catalog > Catalog Location. If you backup this directory, and your photo library, you can always restore from your backups, without having to remember to use the Organizer backups. Hope this helps!
This is so what I needed to get organized so thank you!! Do you have more than one catelogue like one for scrapbooking and another for photos or do you just keep all your 1000's in the one catelogue?
I do keep two catalogues. I have over 100 000 images in each! So I just choose my photos, then switch to my supplies catalogue. :) I'm glad you found the video helpful!
Great tutorial. I'm putting all my kits into organizer now. I love the way it works but it is sooooooo incredibly slow. be ableDo you have any tips on how to fix that? I looked it up and turned off the Auto Analyzer but it's still taking forever to be able to more the scroll bars. Thanks
Bernadette Tivenan it can be slow while PSE is generating thumbnails. if you can see a spinning circle next to the number of items in your catalog, it means Organizer is generating thumbnails of your images. If I import a lot of photos (say over 1000), like to leave my computer be for an hour to give it a changes. PSE can generate about 5,000 to 10,000 thumbnails per hour. You will find it's much faster once that is finished
Hi Shann - you sure can. I've got a playlist on my channel call Photobooks, that will show you how they turn out. You can also just print them off and pop them in an album or clear page protector :) Hope this helps! :) Melissa
This is a great starting point. Thank you! It appears the program won't read across drives for the Watch Folder. I keep my supplies on an external hd which is on the network and PSE11 says The System Cannot Find the Path Specified. Disappointing but something I can work without.
Hello, I am exploring digital scrapbooking and I can see how the pages are made. But I am wandering if the pages can be made into hard cover photo books, if so were would I send it to be made. Or can the pages just be printed and then slotted into clear files?

(I have them sorted by designers, kit name, type of product). 2. If I want to use the organizer for my photo's also, how do you suggest I bring them all into the program?
Marge Gray 1. You can import them all at once - your folders are reflected in the folder view in PSE. Plus in PSE15 there's so much more automation and auto tagging :) it will work so much faster than this video :) 2. You will probably want to create two seperate catalogs one for photos and one for supplies (if you have a lot of photos and supplies in one catalog it becomes pretty slow) I explain in detail in my classes digiscraphq.com/gosupplies and digiscraphq.com/gophotos
Yeah, it's a pity that they don't have it for Mac yet. BUT you can just drag your supplies folder onto the Organizer every so often and it will automatically add your new supplies
Hello Melissa, when I export and organise my scrapbook supplies into photoshop as you have done, if at a later date my computer crashes or some unfortunate happening. When I reinstall my photoshop programme will my data base supplies still be in my photoshop, or would I lose all my diggi files?
Excellent video thank you. Unfortunately I did not make sure that the old choices were cleared before I started the next colour and I now have some colours that have 2 or 3 colour tags that are wrong. How do I delete some of the colours from certain papers while leaving the correct colours on there? Thank you
