I went and investigated on the Fabre castell website and their student/kids grade is the red packaging. They do sell on the American website at least, a 12 and 21 pan set of watercolors.
Rebecca Laidlaw does the student package have the pen included?

I think Tori (Juicy Ink) reviewed and investigated these as well. As far as I remember they were a legit product by Faber Castell China.
I llooked up Faber Castell Watercolor pans and found images similar to this, the red case,, brush and sponge. I found the full one on Aliexpress however.
Just saying - theres a lot of copy products on wish. All wish products are from china, and i doubt a brand like faber castell would sell their products on wish - and even if they did it would be way more expensive
How can people not like vibrant watercolours? Vibrant ones are the best! If you want to tone them down:
Add a little orange to the blue.
Add a little red to the green.
Add a little purple to the yellow.
And vice versa.
You can always tone them down. But you can't make vibrant colours out of muted colours.
Right?
Not really, especially if you are used to what's, for lack of a better term, a more dusky set that's a bit more atmospheric and harmonious they can be quite odd, especially if said set is actually more strongly coloured and get rewetted more easily.
Yes, I know, it's just hard to really describe it because it does have strong colours, it's just like the colours are a little more complex/unusual since it's mostly single pigment so you don't have a lot of mixed colours which also means that many of the "normal" colours aren't there in exactly the form they usually are because they are often mixes-which gets kinda weird if you get presented with other watercolours and are used to the way the set harmonizes and just overall looks so you start feeling like the other colours are kind of weird and don't look like they should.
If you don't know what I mean, look for white nights watercolours. I don't now if they show up that well on video but, yea.
Me: too lazy too mix colors.
Also me: mix everything with white or just plain water.

Fun fact- red faber castell products are usually either student grade or slightly cheaper and of lower quality when compared to the green products which are more expensive, artist grade etc..
A former employee of faber castell who works in this one stationary told us this, so-
Sanya Tyagi my friend has a GIANT red fabercastell watercolor pencil set while I have a small 24 color watercolor pencil set that’s green. My grandmother got it for Christmas and it’s my favorite pencils so far

Faber Castell has specific colors for the grade of their products, the red one is for the student grade ^^ i remember i had a lot of pencil packs that had a red box because they were not meant to be professionals pencils and I used them in elementary school. I never saw watercolor set produced by this brand but that is why the box is red ^^
If I remember correctly the more professional grades are a dark olive green and black. Here in Italy you see a lot of pencil sets from that brand
Also I think another youtuber (i don't remember who it was..) tried this set and did some research and found out that the company actually sells this student set in China so I think it's a legit product from Faber Castell

Green is more better quality from what I can tell; the 24 watercolor pencil set’s only downside is probably that the white isn’t good for layering (a problem all fabercastell watercolor pencils seem to have) and no pink!!!

I’m barely at 3:45 or so in the vid this upload but seeing the dynamic color swatches made me think of how Adam could a e s t h e t i c a l l y sharpen pencils on the next video that has a pencil-centric theme...?
The idea came together much better in my head haha U^^
They could do a "Colored Pencils from Wish" so we could have Adam sharpen pencils 😉
It actually seems to be a real product, but mainly in Asia, for now at least. There are different sizes which I can't imagine would happen with a fake product. I know that faber castell make some different stuff here in Europe as opposed to south America, I'd assume Asia has a differently geared market as well. That component is lovely anyway

This set is part of Faber Castell but it's made in India and imported to china, apparently it's a small division of the company but Faber Castell doesn't really comment on it a lot. They'd be considered student grade, from what I've researched about 6 months ago, I hope this helps...great video as always I greatly enjoy your honest opinion. These help beginners figure the best brand to use and what to spend their coin on
I doubt it's made in India tho??? I legit have never seen these over here, problem with India, though, is that most of the high quality stuff is exported (and then sometimes imported back)
@@sanyatyagi645 I'm not 100% sure but I emailed the corporate contact info back 6-7 months ago and they said that set is through their India branch/factory, I wanted to know if they were legit, I did order the 72 colored pencils which are sold on wish and also made in India but sold in China they are a nice set BUT I compared them to my polychromos and there are big differences between some of the colors which I imagine cheaper pigments/dyes used. But yes corporation confirmed with me via email India. I remember so well because I was shocked but now I'm wondering if your right and the packaging is made in India then exported to china where the paint might be added, I'm not 100% sure on that part the company didn't give me a lot of info on them just where there made and exported to china. In India faber castell has watercolour set but in tubes which is student grade . I have never seen this set ever in India.

Faber-Castell have three lines of products.
Red line for children (ex the classic coloured pencils)
Blue line for crafts, students (ex goldfaber)
Green line for artists (ex Polychromos)
But they don't hunt down costumes of they use the 'wrong' supplies 👻

I have Albrecht Dürer watercolour pencils and they’re my favorites- they go down very opaque so I have a lot of control with the gradient and can go really dark

This is actually a faber castell set, the red containers mean it’s in the kid range of supplies.
I haven't watched your videos in very long and your art styles, especially Adam's changed so much holy cow. And Adam's hair!!! It grew so much!!

At my old school we would constantly use the smaller versions of these watercolours. I have to say I really do love them.
I love how (at the moment) "give me a restraining order" is 100%
Actual faber castel is color coded
Red-->student grade
Dark green-->artist grade
Steph as a guy looks like a chill surfer dude... Adam as a girl is like the girl next door...

I do believe that Faber Castel does make a child's quality watercolor set. Red packaging with Faber Castel usually means it's part of their children's line.

There are some paint that look granulated because of the pigments in it (I had a cobalt blue that dried with a grainy texture due to its pigment) it's not always a sign of bad quality, sometimes really good paints have it too ^^ I don't know about this specific case but yeah, it can happen ^^ I like it because a lot of watercolors master use this grainy texture to make great techniques and effects!

My vote is that it's genuine, but student/kids grade and they make cheaper sets for/in China. I've seen a similar red box deal for colour pencils. :)
I am glad you were able to get these paints to review and they are very good for starting out or student work or videos as that is the “medium” you are using, you do not have to worry about lightfast properties! Oh and I enjoy watching your videos Thank you for sharing your art journey with us!

They are definitely real. I bought a set off Amazon of watercolor pencils and they arrived in a red tin with a viewing window. Mine has English on it. They are made in Indonesia. The are described as a hobbyist quality watercolor pencils.
Juicy ink did a video on these watercolors before. Yes, they are real. They’re made as a premium children’s set marketed towards China and the Philippines.
I really like when you guys review watercolors! You have such opposite ways of using them it's nice to see how versatile they are!

I think these are cast as student range. These student range are made in all different countries. I had the tubes in this range and they were really good.

I've actually heard of these paints, juicy ink did a video on it a while back and if i remember correctly it is in fact a real faber castell set but it's from there children's art supply line. so it's like the faber castell equivalent of crayola, it's not a high quality set if that makes sense

Oh! Juicy Ink did a video on these too! I think she said that they were only produced in one country and someone in the comments said that Faber Castell supplies that come in red packaging are made for children while green is for the more professional artist.
Y’all have probably figured out that the green packaging is artist grade, blue is student grade and red for children. This seems like a cool set for kids! Wow

Another artist UA-camr I watch (don't remember which one, I believe it was Juicy Ink tho) got this same set from Wish as well. They reached out to Faber-Castell themselves and this is a real Faber-Castell watercolour set produced in China, but it is not produced in America or any of their other factory branches. The red is the packaging for their kid/student grade supplies. Hope this is helpful, much love 💙

I think that's real? Because there's this watercolor brand that sold in my country called Simbalion. It is from China. It looks like that Artist Loft cake watercolor. And I've seen Simbalion when I watched one youtuber who buy Wish art supplies. Wish's just like Amazon, really
Edit: Oh, yeah. I used to have Faber-Castell cake watercolor, 12 colors, just like Simbalion-Artist Loft. I had it back when I wanna started watercolor, actually. But I hated it, so I gave it to my cousin. I never seen any of this outside of my country, as far as I know. But the funny thing is... I never seen it again after like 4 years ago when I started to use it. I bought that paint at college budget-friendly supermarket. I can't even find it whenever I go to Faber-Castell section at art store. I live in pretty big city right now, so don't think that's the issue. Even in my local market site, only several sellers sell this. And freaking expensive compare when I bought years ago (it price's now $4.50, it used to be $2.20-2.50) Also we don't have some of the Faber-Castell products as well. It happens with other country. Mateusz Urbanowicz is a Polish artist based in Japan. He really likes certain type of Faber-Castell fineliners, but can't find it in Japan.

Amazon is way more reputable then Wish, and I'm saying that knowing of their shitty work conditions and everything 😂 wish just buys things for cheap and sells them cheap no matter the quality of the item, which means most of the items are shit. Its more like a bidding app or eBay then anything
Whoops, I'm sorry. I don't actually know Amazon is, because I never use it (we don't have it). So it's like individual seller? I thought amazon-ebay-any market place is just all the same, just some of them more ethicaly made or shitty bussiness or made ridiculous "discount" or some other feature like bidding.
Looking at how cheap some product can be in Amazon, I don't know why a 20 ish dollar watercolor sets in retail can sold almost 50% in Amazon. Some product in my country are ridiculously expensive and I live in poor country. You don't have to tell me about unethically made products, because we made some of it. A prima marketing set can sell more than 50$ here. So when I heard it's quite affordable (20$), it feels like Amazon did dirty stuff

For skintones i usually just mix a brown with a little bit of pink or red and then water it down depending on how loght i want it tbh

These are real Faber Castell watercolor paints made for the Chinese market. They are a student grade though, but a quality student grade from what others have said. Those are full pan sizes, even though the paints in the pans are shaped differently. They also have red boxes of Faber Castell colored and watercolor pencils for a very good price on Wish as well. They are also considered student grade which the ubiquitous red box signifies. But I have heard good things about the watercolor pencils. They sell the same Faber Castell paints in the red cases here in the US, but I am not sure if they sell it in 48 colors, that may just be something they only offer to/in the Chinese market. From your paintings and critiques, I would say these would make an excellent set for someone just starting out in watercolor who does not know if they're going to like it or stick with it. They are quality enough to give you decent and good results, but cheap enough not to have to worry about having wasted your money if you decide watercolor painting is not your thing.

Faber Castelle does sell Water colours (student grades only. Those are bigger and also sold separately and in sets). I'm not convinced this is a real product. Faber Castell does own a very specific set of colours and make sure you can combine the same colour of different mediums (Coloured Pencils, Markers...). So, they should have the same numbers on the back for every colour as the other produces have.
Also, I did not find anything looking similar on their official website.
I've always wondered myself how good these are and if they were real as well! Thank you for this video.
I used student and artist grade watercolours from Faber castell few years back and the granulation is pretty common in some shades of blue and red, in both grades irrespective of the price. I'm assuming it's due to over-watering the paint which may cause a slight separation between the pigment and binder when left in a watery state. It's most common with the prussian blues in my experience.

SO i looked up this packaging and type of paint online, and apparently Faber Castell released this set in Phillipenes and China few months back and it isn't available all over the world yet so that's why it looks kinda suspicious. Thanx for trying this out tho! I always love reviews of new paints.

It’s NOT fake. It’s just produced in CHina, through cooperation with Faber castle brand
