VERY HELPFUL!! I’m impressed with your organization. Your comments as you went along were appreciated.I will be organizing alphabetically, with my reference section separately. I have a Sauder cabinet with double doors that I simply love! I had extra shelves cut so I can utilize “every inch” of space. I like the magazine holders for books/sheet music that will fit. I have MANY 3-ring binders with acid-free sheet protectors. In fact, some of my music that was falling apart I salvaged into these 3-ring binders, and will continue this process for music that fits (much is over-sized). I am 80+yrs and have started passing on music to a younger lady who teaches piano. No one in my immediate family plays piano. Still playing, mostly sacred now for church.

P.S. My teen and college recital music will be kept as a collection with my life story for my family heritage.

You are going to be very envious when I tell you that I have a whole series of books like your Bach story book. I have Handel, the same Bach, Beethoven, Schumann, Chopin in 2 volumes, Grieg, and Stephen Foster. In regard to your music scores, I am astonished that you do not seem to have the so called Paderewski editions of Chopin. These are specially valuable for the extensive notes setting out variant versions, almost bar by bar. Also you do not seem to have collected piano concertos. When it comes to Chopin, I have many different editions as well as the Paderewski, e.g. Novello, Schirmer, Augener and so on. This post comes from Johannesburg, South Africa. You can gather that I am rather older than you. I still have all the music books that I learnt from as a child, kept in a separate pile!

That's great, I wish I had more antique books like this! As for Paderewski, I have some but they are in storage. As for concertos, I do not play any because I will never play with an orchestra because I am not a concert pianist. So, there really is no reason for concertos in my opinion. I can't play everything, so some things need to be left out. I can't have all editions ever made, so some things need to be left out. Actually, my library is pretty small but just wanted to make this video to show everyone how to organize things.

Winner of a video, I have been researching "free classical music sheets for piano" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Jonwen Doniden Rule - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my work buddy got great success with it.

I just started learning piano this year. I’m in the hoarding books stage, I can’t even play most of them yet, lol. The books are sooo comforting or something tho. Books filled with music, and just the feeling of opening the book and turning the pages.
