    Last week, we headed out of Maine after Lily got her driver’s permit, and we somehow put the RV back together in less than 24 hours after tearing it apart to paint every inch of wood grain showing! If you missed that episode, you can check it out here: • WAS IT WORTH OUR TIME ...
    We arrived in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, for the first ever Lippert Getaway at Pigeon Forge Landing RV Resort! We had never been guest speakers at an event before, and we had so much fun speaking at multiple sessions with other fellow Lippert Brand Ambassadors.
    We wrapped up the event and headed back up to Elkhart, Indiana, (we just can’t get enough of that place!😂) and prepared the rig to have our new Furrion solar panels installed. Preparation included Essenhaus donuts, of course, and a deep cleaning of the roof which had been sitting under trees in Maine for a month before.
    Our partners at Furrion, recently acquired by Lippert, installed 4 of their 160watt solar panels on the roof. We also replaced our 8cu ft electric/propane refrigerator with the new Furrion 12v 10cu ft refrigerator. As excited as Corey is about the solar, Jess is even more excited about her bigger fridge!
    We can’t wait to share more about our solar install in the future as we have also partnered with Lion Energy and will be instaling 4 of their Lithium batteries as part of our system as well!
    Stay tuned for the next episode as we share our completed renovation with you guys! Be sure to like and subscribe and click on the bell icon for notifications when we release new videos!

    Great segment on the RV volunteering piece and we remember y’all mentioning this meet up! We truly love what we do and everyone was right… RVers possess tremendous capacity to give back while on the road. We just rolled 27,500 volunteer hours because of this amazing segment of our society!!

    Fun times! I can understand the cringe of putting holes in the roof - after 2 years of no solar and dealing with 2 AGM batteries (barf), we just went solar with 4 BB batteries - GAME CHANGER! Safe travels

    Great video, thank you! As for the semi towing the car, that’s what truck transport trucks do, they tow a personal vehicle to get to their next load after dropping off the last truck. Truck transport trucks are those trucks - usually 3 - being towed together and delivered various places.

    Amazing video as always. Back from Hawaii and I have to say, Everytime I hear the star spangled banner it gives me chills. I have a race team I own and several tracks use that exact sound track of that version. I just love it.

      Hope you had an awesome trip, Glenn! Funny enough, that version got flagged and you were thankfully able to see it before UA-cam cut it out for copyright issues. NASCAR invited us to the last race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway last summer before they redid it and hearing the National Anthem at each race that weekend was so special. What team do you own?

    I have 660W of panels (2 panels) connected to Victron 150/85 controller, using 2 Lion UT1300 batteries and a 1000W Xantrex Freedom inverter. It works good for the two of us. I installed everything. BTW, Eterna bond tape works great to hold down those panel wires, keeping them from flopping around in the wind. I'm surprised the installer didn't use that.

    I just converted over from four AGM batteries worth 250 amp hours usable to two 200 amp hour lithium batteries. I’m mooch stocking at a friend while I’m doing other upgrades and helping him on his motorhome so I haven’t been able to try them out yet. But I’m sure they will be much better because they charge so much faster. Nice video as always stay safe.

    Hey Corey at 13:37 it’s a drive away. The driver is taking the truck to a dealer from the frieghtliner factory in Cleveland NC and he’s towing his personal vehicle so he can get back home or to his next dispatch. They also take the motor homes to the dealers from the factories in Indiana.

    That looked so fun, and the upgrades from Furion look like a great decision. When I started helicoptering a good friend did panoramic photography. Try that the next time you do a group photo. It makes it so so can actually see everybody, as you can be closer.

    Pretty cool fridge you're going to have and with your new power system it will be great . I recently upgraded my power from a 298KWH battery and added a 612KWH battery that should be more than enough to run everything I have since the 298 was just a little short and I added a 100watt solar panel to the mix as well . Looking at the copter on the motorhome brought back a memory , my mother in law bought me a flying lesson in one of those for my birthday one year and it was pretty interesting . It's a pretty squirrely copter , barely move the stick left and off you go left turn . LOL I was fine with the other controls but the last thing is taking the stick and wow , nobody died so it's all good LOL

    does that "drone copter " have a 3 axis gimbal 8k camera? Loved the rally and the people! I guess in the current corporate world, you don't expect a company as big as lippert to hold good family related values. Its something you just don't see that often from the big boys. I think your business is better when run that way, but most seem to embrace the cold hearted ways... another great video!. I went with a bluetti for its all in one package...and a 2k watt generator. obviously the LiPo limitations are related to output and recharge. But I'm only on the road a couple weeks between the seasonal jobs. I'm just lucky its been the same summer and winter jobs for several years. Take care. Heading to Ohio after the 28th of March. Safe Travels!!!

  • @badgerpa9

    Please get the fire safety tube for in your battery area. All lithium batteries create oxygen when they burn and are almost impossible to stop burning. The gas in the fire safety tubes blocks oxygen and is about the only way to put out a lithium battery fire. If they tell you 1 two foot tube will do it get 2 two foot tubes. If you do not know who to contact I can give you a youtuber that lives fulltime in their RV and installs the tubes. All lithium batteries create oxygen, even the latest type that sank the ship hauling VW and Porsche cars to the USA. You will love the new fridge they are awesome. Stay safe and healthy.

    My Jayco 5th wheel came with Furrion 12v refrigerator factory installed and I love it. Have 2 Lion Energy Lithium batteries but no solar yet. After 2 previous rigs over the past 30 years with propane/120 ac the difference is incredible, especially when it is hot outside!

  • @polymath5119
    @polymath5119 2 роки тому +1

    Corey, when you mentioned being careful about solar panel shading by AC units I hollered YES! Many installations on UA-cam overlook this. We went with parallel instead of serial wired panels despite the voltage drop inefficiency. That way if shading happens only one panel is affected. Better yet, the isolation of cell clusters in those Furrion panels is a fantastic idea.

    • @FindingOurSomeday
      @FindingOurSomeday  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks man😃 Even if the shading occurs earlier or later in the day that’s when you really need all you can get sometimes. When I was consulting with the, the guy that did most of the install(awesome guy) he wanted to put all the panels on one side with all the same angle and park the rig south facing to that side . So on paper that makes complete sense, but reality is that’s something new to add to parking your rig and the majority of the time you park where you can park. I went for the average best layout in my mind , taking into account shading from the AC units and still being able to walk from front to back. That is a pretty good perk of those panels, they have a fairly good efficiency rate of 20% as well. I’m pretty excited to see what they are capable of in the summer when the sun is even higher! It was pretty awesome to see 25 amps going into the batteries while driving down the road though !

    • @polymath5119
      @polymath5119 2 роки тому +1

      We did the same with our panels for the same parking reason, plus 200w more than calculated need in order to mitigate tree shading, cloudy days, and not manually tilting them for better sun angle. Looking forward to the solar build video.

    I noticed when you showed the new refrigerator that you will put in your RV that there was a stove that looked like an upgrade compared to what we have in our 2019 RV. Ours has such a tiny oven that the only pan that we can utilize is a small cookie sheet pan. Such a disappointment to have what we have, and not being shown the one near the refrigerators to view (wondering if it really was an upgrade), made my heart sad; but other than this personal picky item on my part, I enjoyed seeing it all. I liked the possibilities given that an outdoor space could be added to the roof of the RV! Gale Flowers

    • @FindingOurSomeday
      @FindingOurSomeday  2 роки тому

      There are many different size ovens including residential ones that can be put in an RV. It all depends on what your manufacturer put in and how much space they made available in the design. Our new fridge was an option because even though it is bigger than our old one, it still fits in the same footprint as our 8cu ft one. Many RV's including much bigger rigs than ours have small RV size microwaves, but we have a full size residential one that also is a convection oven. It all depends on the RV design and how the manufacturer laid it out. Thanks so much for watching!

    I am curious how the Furrion panels are performing, my last rig I had 10X100 watt Grape Solar Panels, and my current I have 5X240 watt Newpowa panels, I havent really run them hard off grid much yet, they do easily keep out 6 Lions full. I have played around with the Furrion A/C we have with a soft start, I can run for a few hours with out a problem to cool the rig down, and full sun could run 10 hours (per my victon shunt) but probably more like 6ish hours with sun supplementing the batteries.

    I enjoy watching your episodes and seeing and hearing what all you do just curious as what it cost to be out full-time especially with fuel prices on the rise

      Thank for for watching! It is almost an impossible question to answer as, just like if we were living in a sticks and bricks home, everyone lives life differently. There are people who spend millions full timing and others who can do it for $20K a year. Depends on what rig you want, what kind of rig you will have, how you spend money, how you travel, etc will all pay into how much it will cost. Not to mention how many are in your family traveling with you!

      I use Maguire's All Purpose Cleaner. I use it for the roof and cleaning the RV and truck as well. Just don't let it sit on any surface for long in the sun.

    Great video.I think Lippert is a great company but I am concerned with one their slide systems known as the power gear slide .I have had roller bearing fallout of the slide two consecutive years in a row .I have the slide repaired by a reputable Jayco Greyhawk dealer and even the repair service tech said that the design is flawed and there is no way to tighten the bearing wheels tight enough so that they are tight enough and still roll loose.I spoke to Lippert and the repair luckily was still under warranty. My biggest concern is everytime I put the slide out I feel that I am rolling the dice that another bearing is going to fallout again. If you guys speak to the Lippert crew again in the future could you mention my concern . I know I am one person but with the thousands of RV that have this slide system was installed in there has to be 1000’s of the slide systems with this design flaw. Thank you , Al Nolan Long Island NY

      It's a good time and a great experience when you get a great night to be on the beach, it's so awesome.
      We travel to the u.p often and have many locations to hunt and actually are friends with the guy who started the whole yooperlight craze..
      So if you decide to don't hesitate to contact us.
      I'm still working but we always find time to camp in the u.p. and to rock hunt.

    I have a drone question. Do you fly your drone out of eyesight? I have a Holystone 720G drone but they recommended to not fly out of eyesight or over 400'. I did not take the upgraded license class for commercial droning. This a practice drone before spending big $ on one in a couple of years.
