If you have low porosity hair, then adding water blocks some of the gel. I do not add water. I just make sure that I keep my hair warm so that it will accept the products.

How do you keep it warm?
It’s a whole year later and I’m just seeing this question! So sorry! Anyway, I keep my hair warm by doing it the bathroom straight out of the shower while the bathroom is still steamy and warm. Then I put on a shower cap after everything is added to let it all soak in a little while I get dressed. Hope this helps.

Very pretty results. I love the Adwoa line, my twists stay hydrated and moisturized all week with these products. Definitely try the shampoo and the defining cream. Would like to see you do a twist out with these products.

Hey!! Accurate assessment of the DC. I also enjoyed the shampoo leave and Curl defining cream. I don't wear hair out so it does keep my hair moisturized for days. When you try the cream maybe try the oil too. The whole line is a win.

I like the shampoo, deep conditioner and the leave in. I just tried the gel and ran across your video. I now wished I would have saw it earlier and I probably would have tried it without the extra water. It ended up being piecey rather than clumped. It’s a light hold I’ll have to see what it looks like in the morning. Your hair is beautiful.
Hi Diane! The gel does give a piecey look whether you use extra water or not, so don't beat yourself up about that. They say the key is not to use too much gel, but whether I used a lot or a little, it flaked on me. It is a soft hold, but the definition will last. I just couldn't do the flakes and it looked really dry on day 2. Good luck to you. Let me know how it turns out for you.
NaturalRaeRae Wow that is disappointing. I was so excited about this gel. If doesn’t flake it’ll be ok, I’ll deal with it. 🤞🏽I wonder if it will work with Wetline. I’m tempted to try it with that next time.
NaturalRaeRae Though the gel did not flake it was not the look I was going for so I decided to spritz with water and add another gel. I used the Aunt Jackie’s curl Boss gelle. It helped save the wash day. Not perfect but better. So disappointed this expensive gel. I’m still going to try it with Wetline. I will definitely continue to use until finished.
Thanks for this! My gel should be here next week. I have much kinkier hair than yours so I’m a little nervous, but will plan on returning to Sephora if I don’t like it. Their cream is gold though.
I liked my hair the first day, but the next day, not so much. It flaked some so that ruined the style for me. I like the leave-in and deep conditioner, though. I still want to try the cream, but I need to use what I have in my stash before I buy anything else. I hope you have better results with the gel and I did. Thanks for watching!
NaturalRaeRae The Adwoa YT page has a very detailed demonstration on how to use the gel. Since you’re planning to use it up, it may be worth a watch. I remember them saying you need to “melt” the gel by rubbing it in your hands before applying in addition to lots of water. There’s a learning curve for sure.

thanks for sharing. my favorites out of the line is the shampoo and leave in. i also really love the cream. i didn’t like the application of the gel either because it felt like rubber on my hair. but now i just have a whole thing of gel just sitting. in the future, i’ll just stick with the cream.

I love the conditioner and leave-in, but did not like the gel period. I could not use the leave-in by itself. I had to combine it with a cream, but still liked the leave-in.

NaturalRaeRae yeah it’s definitely a lot lighter than I like but you know me I don’t mind mixing with a harder gel but I doubt I’ll ever use it by itself though lol
