You made it through two days of NAMM, so you’re doing better than me. I was driven to madness after just one day. Thanks for the piano updates. I think my heart is still set on the Kurzweil 2700 as replacement for my daughter stealing my PC3K8.
Chuck! Thank you very much for the report! pretty useful! Hope you can compare the Nord Grand 1 and 2 action (when and if posible), since you could difference the NP3 and 4, and give so much interesting and functional analysis of keybeds.
Great job as usual Chuck, it is like I was at NAMM with you. The Korg Grand Stage X looks awesome. And the PDF midi conversion tool on the Yamaha is a great feature! I hope all is well with you and the family! Thanks again.
Looking forward to your reviews on these instruments. I’m hoping the new Korg grand has an improved action. If that comes with an action similar to Kawai or Yamaha’s top Keybed then it will be a great instrument.
Yes, the H10V and H10MG are new!! My fault for not including it in the video - I knew about it last year and therefore I didn't consider it "new". Apologies (video description also updated to include this omission).
Hi, Chuck. Thank you for your Namm reports. They are always very helpful. I have a question. I own a PX-S5000. I love the feel of the keybed/action. I'm also interested in the new CELVIANO models with their new keybed/action. Would you be happy to share in more detail your experience of this new keybed/action and if you sensed an improvement over that of the PX-S5000/6000/7000 please. Thank you Chuck, All the very best, Warmest regards, Chris
Its the Kawai RHiii action but renamed to "RHiii-N" where "N" is for Nord as its the RHiii built to Nord specs. They've supposedly made improvements to this action from the previous Nord Grand but I'm not sure what those improvements are. The RHiii is Kawai's action that can be found in their ES8 and MP7 models.
Thanks for the coverage Chuck. I wonder if Numa will come out with a 73 (or 76) compact one day :) I would definitely be interested to check one of these.
Grandstage X is cool, but why isn t Korg upgrading that RH3 action? When you buy such an expensive instrument you are looking for a better action also. For me Korg sounds+ Kawai action + Studiologic price but be top!😂
Korg is constantly upgrading their RH3 actions with different revisions and that's the problem. They should be calling it something else to indicate those changes rather than keeping the same name (RH3) for well over a decade.
Thanks, Chuck! Didn't notice the detail about the key size of the new Numa Compact. Normal keys are about 6 inches, while the older Compact's keys are 5 and a half inches, same length as the Hammond keyboards. I like the shorter keys because of the way I stack keyboards. Was hoping for a new Viscount Legends '70s module but I had a feeling NAMM would be too soon.
No idea. There's been a ton of speculation and ideas floating around on the internet but none of them feel quite right or predictive on what Viscount is going to do. Could be something new, could be an emulation of something old, could be an updated version of an already existing module.
Really curious what, if any, modifications Casio made to the action of the AP-750 since they branded it the Celviano edition of Smart Hybrid Hammer Action. Probably the biggest thing most folks are curious about....and hopefully that new speaker system sounds as good as they're advertising
Yes, that new speaker system is definitely as good as they're advertising. Definitely check it out at your local retailer whenever they might get those units in stock so that you can see for yourself!
Buongiorno Maestro e a tutti i tuoi iscritti!!!! accettasi consigli. Ringrazio anticipatamente chiunque voglia rispondermi
Thank you so much for sharing all the information about the keyboards and pianos. I think this is year Namm is less interesting for keyboard and piano player. I was expecting new products from Kawai & Roland but unfortunately there is nothing new.
We don't know about new products from Roland at this time. They weren't at the NAMM show but that doesn't mean they won't have new products being announced later this year.
Thank you, Chuck. Full length keys for Studiologic Compact x SE? What do you mean by that? I own a NC2x and it has a depth of 23 cm just like the NCxSE. The length of the keys on the NC2x is 14 cm, and when I measure the length of the NCxSE keys from the pictures, it's still 14 cm. It has also the same keybed FATAR TP9/PIANO. In my opinion, it would not make much sense to make the keys longer because the weight would still be the same. Where do you have this information from?
Hi, Chuck. I wonder about the "Piano de Voyage". That's also a portable instrument to take along in your backpack. Any news about that? Last thing I heard was they're in the process to offer weighted action, but who knows when.
Yamaha CK 61/88 Please. Preferably the 61, although I know you prefer hammer actions, so the 88 will do. We already know what it's not. Need to know what it is. Apparently it's achieving popularity as a sort of Swiss Army knife keyboard. Suitable for gigging, according to some giggers. Well, all the ones who own it that I trust anyway.
This video is about new products that were at the NAMM show this year. Piano de Voyage is definitely an excellent product but they were not at the show this year.
@@PianoManChuck Sorry, I was a little cryptic. What I meant was Pocket Piano saying "the only grand piano that fits in your pocket" when it seems very similarly sized to the Piano de Voyage :)
I hope to go to NAMM some day! Thanks, Chuck, for all you do!
You definitely should! Contact me around November about attending the NAMM 2025 show.
Thanks for the piano focused NAMM report, I think this is one of a kind. Great info, so appreciated as an enthusiastic DP fan.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I'm interested in keyboards, but wasn't able to visit Namm, so I'm very happy with your actual update. Thanks Chuck.
My pleasure!
Thank You very much for the nice video !!!✌🙏
Thank you. Looking forward to your Numa X SE review.
Great job as usual Chuck, it is like I was at NAMM with you. The Korg Grand Stage X looks awesome. And the PDF midi conversion tool on the Yamaha is a great feature! I hope all is well with you and the family! Thanks again.
Thanks Tim - yes, I loved the Grand Stage X and also thought the PDF MIDI Conversion was awesome!
Thank you for the comprehensive overview. I'd also add Yamaha released an updated PSR-E283 on their official channel.
Yes, but its virtually impossible to keep up with everything new at the show when you're there for only 2 days. Thanks for pointing this out!
Looking forward to your reviews on these instruments. I’m hoping the new Korg grand has an improved action. If that comes with an action similar to Kawai or Yamaha’s top Keybed then it will be a great instrument.
thanks mate for the updates
I don’t know what Dexibell are advertising at NAMM, but they also have a new upright-format H10 model.
Yes, the H10V and H10MG are new!! My fault for not including it in the video - I knew about it last year and therefore I didn't consider it "new". Apologies (video description also updated to include this omission).

You are very welcome

I'd be interested to know which Kawai keybed is being used in the Nord Grand 2.
I would like to know that, too !

I see that Sexy-8, Chuck! Great choice. ❤
Korg also have the new Korg Poetry piano.
Thanks for the summary. 👍

Those casios look good. The prices are not bad. Review, please.
How does the kawaii piano action on the new Nord compare to the vpc1?

Any update for the Roland rd 2000?
How can the Numa Compact SE have full length keys when the size is exactly the same of the previous model? Shouldn't it have a slightly bigger depth?
Please see the video's description for an update on that.
heck I expected a new Casio CT S1
I’m curious about that Kurzweil
Me too.

Very little MIDI2 after all this time. Inexcusable.

Piano de Voyage beat the Pocket Piano by many years, not sure where their claim comes from (other than silly marketing.)
