Clapping at the end of a liturgy is a spontaneous expression of joy. “All you people’s clap your hands”. Old Testament. Maybe if some of the bitter critics of the Novus Oreo were more joyful and not so filled with negativity they would be more credible. Joy is the most infallible sign of the presence of God. That is attributed to St. Irenaeus.
Pope Benedict: ‘applause in church is a sign that all sense of the sacred has disappeared’.

Postludes and preludes are part of the liturgy, so why all the clapping? Such disrespect in the Novus Ordo rite.
