Beautiful. A very pleasant surprise to find a variant of Irish trad here, and it's fun to see music pollinating from Ireland to Appalachia and back again like this.

what great editing and romanticized storytelling crafted around folk music in Ireland in this video! I'd be hard pressed not to invite myself to watch if I saw these artist walking by.

Lovely bit, gets me that "hand me over a pint" kinda feeling. Chords and lyrics below folks!
    Capo on 5, Standard tuning
If you want to fancy it up a bit, you can play C / C/B / Am / Am/G C in the verses instead
    Verses C / C / C / C
    Chorus Am / F C
    Interlude C / C / C / C / Am / F C / Am / F C
    [Verse 1]
It’s all out on the old railroad
It’s all out on the sea
All out on the old railroad
As far as I can see
    [Chorus]
    Swing and turn, Jubilee
    Live and learn Jubilee
    [Verse 2]
The hardest work I ever did
    Was working on the farm
    Easiest work I ever did
Was swing my true love’s arm
    [Chorus]
    Swing and turn, Jubilee
    Live and learn Jubilee
    [Verse 3]
The coffee grows on a white oak tree
And the river runs in brandy
    I got a girl, she's mighty fine
    As sweet as sugar candy
    [Chorus]
    Swing and turn, Jubilee
    Live and learn Jubilee
    [Interlude]
    [Verse 4]
Some will come at Saturday night
    Some will come on Sunday,
But if you give me half a chance
    I'll be back on Monday
    [Chorus]
    Swing and turn, Jubilee
    Live and learn Jubilee
    [Verse 5]
Well if I had a needle and thread
As fine as I could sew
I’d sew my true love to my side
And down the road we'd go
    [Chorus]
    Swing and turn, Jubilee
    Live and learn Jubilee
    [Verse 6]
Saddle me up the old gray mare
    Who shall be their rider?
Ride her down to the old still house
And get a jug of cider
    [Chorus]
    Swing and turn, Jubilee
    Live and learn Jubilee
    Swing and turn, Jubilee
    Live and learn Jubilee
    Swing and turn, Jubilee
    Live and learn Jubilee
    Swing and turn, Jubilee
    Live and learn Jubilee
    [Outro]

Should be called a Tin Whistle or Penny Whistle. Hope this helps :)

    • @ando5899
      @ando5899 Місяць тому

It's a low d whistle, it's a lower version of the traditional tin whistle or penny whistle mentioned below. Finbar furey would be one of the more popular musicians that makes it central to his music. It is easier played than the tin whistle by the way!!
