HEC Paris Grad 2024: Dean Éloïc Peyrache Addresses MBA, EMBA, EMS, EMS-GEMM, EXED & MSIE Graduates

"Future is not a matter of chance, it’s a matter of choice!"
Dean Éloïc Peyrache's 2024 commencement speech to the MBA, EMBA, EMS, EMS-GEMM, Executive Education, and MSIE graduates illustrates this commitment more than ever because tomorrow it will be up to new graduates to carry it forward.
The Dean began by acknowledging the tremendous journey the graduates have undertaken, their sacrifices, and their achievements. He emphasized that in a world more polarized than ever, our role as an academic institution is:
💡 to produce knowledge and disseminate it, in the "pursuit of truth, objectivity, and impartiality";
💡 to promote critical thinking by examining major issues from all angles;
💡 to promote academic exchange that opens hearts.
He urged students to resist the fragmentation of the world, on our campus and within our community of 80,000 graduates worldwide. "Let us dare choose the side by side and be ambassadors of the richness of diversity to promote peace and depolarization." "Being HEC means being bridge builders, not dike builders."
Dean Peyrache also welcomed François-Henri Pinault, Chairman and CEO of the Kering Group and an HEC alumnus, to share his insights, further inspiring graduates to use their HEC education to impact the world positively, to take risks, and to lead with a sense of purpose and humanity.
