Lions had a looong period of this, and went through 2 coaches after Lethal before we landed with Fages. Fages did something to turn the team around, so it'll happen with the Bombers. It's tough and it sucks, but eventually light comes at the end of the tunnel.

@Bee Hive how do you think the hird saga affects the club today? I just don’t think it does anymore, do you think that saga affects young players there?
I want to hear from Dylan Shiel, he is on a lucrative contract. He should front up. And yes Hep, as Lloydy said, take him out give away a free kick a goal whatever.... DS could get suspended, miss 3 games, it wouldn't do him or the team any harm the way he is playing.
The dons post 2003 has been nothing short of abysmal. Carlton and essendon two of the most successful clubs historically have had pretty abysmal 20 years kinda, whereas other clubs went through a transition of being a very strong top 4 side at certain periods and then tapering of due to transition. Something at that for the past 20 years hasn't been right and someone from the top needs to be seriously be accounted for. Can't always keep scapegoats the coach and captain. Seems like Carlton has turned a corner under Voss good for them
That they’re playing hard, tough footy to the point where it looks like they’re not trying? Whatever he meant by that collection of words. That they’re looking out for each other on the field when not one Bomber stood up for Shiel. Claims not one teammate knew it happened or has since seen the footage, bullshit. Same could be said for when Merrett was taken out. Comparing them to Melbourne or Richmond before they won a flag as if the Bombers are anywhere near that. I get it though, what else can he say? Still you get the sense they think they’re above the criticism
Heppell your 100% right and the rest of the football world is incorrect you and the coach are doing a wonderful job. We Carlton supporters love how you are doing a great job.

Less cuddles and more calling each other out. "I have confidence in the senior coach" uh oh Rutten, watch your back! Melbourne played like this to get rid of Neeld.
We've heard all this before with the likes of Melbourne and Richmond. The years are going by so damn quickly, club's 5 year plans will be 2 years in the past and teams like Essendon and North Melbourne will be contenders.
Not Helpful Heppell, followed bombers for 55 years, something isn’t right, own up to the poor performances, too much energy spent off field defending the indefensible and not enough action in the games, actions speak louder than words
This question probably has more to do with what is wrong with the A.F.L. than what is wrong with Essendon, never the less, I would like to know why a middle order club, based on 2021 results, like Essendon, was given the second hardest draw in the competition.
Our draw has been awful how the hell do we play both Sydney, port and Brisbane twice? The good teams say you just beat who you have in front of you but that's ridiculous
@@TheREALTiPPiDa Prior to the start of the season, when the fixture is released, experts study each clubs draw and rate the degree of difficulty from one to eighteen. You can Google the results.
@Peter McCulloch Googled it ... Admittedly it was a quick google session. Didn't find an article by a panel of experts, only found a Fox Footy article by Max Laughton. This is the article that lists the Bombers as the 2nd hardest draw It seems to only take into account the relative difficulty of the teams as they stood in 2021 and not the overall difficulty of the draw in terms of week to week turn around, travel, breakup of home and away games etc For example, Essendon may play 3 teams in the top 6 twice, but 17 out of the 22 rounds they play are in Victoria and 15 of them might as well be home games, Whereas a team like Fremantle make the most frequent flyer miles this year have 4 6 day breaks and play Melbourne twice, Brisbane Play a 9 week stretch in 6 different states, play consequtive games in QLD only once for the year, and also play the premiers twice. I know which draw I'd rather have. While we're on googling stuff I did notice there is another article analysing the same draw on the Official AFL website by a panel which says the Bombers have the 7TH toughest draw all things considered which looks a bit more thorough in its criteria.
We will get through this period Dyson & get sorely missed players back into this Team which will no doubt translate into better performances. Well spoken under massive pressure Dyson, Congrats on 200 Games 👍👍
I’m not sure if it’s just me but he seems closed off or defensive….. most people portray this with crossed arms, maybe he does with crossing his legs. But at least he is showing a little anger or passion for the club, that’s a small positive out of this interview.
i get the impression heppell does not really care what goes on as long as his team mates are enjoying themselves, and that his reputation as a captain stays in tact,,,,and that he is respected by his team,,,, at the end of the day he dose not really show much passion about his playstyle,,, there is a big difference between the hird era and the heppell era, once players get to the AFL these days they stop trying they just play to get paid.
Did you just use that term and mean it???? Your on the internet talking about a game where blokes get cleaned up on a daily basis. I wonder what they may say about you even if compared to a team that plays soft in a really tough sport.
