The fantastic last song off their brilliant concept album, "The Stage", where "Exist" was meant to be identified as two parts, the creation of the universe, and then the creation of earth, so you were not far wrong David! Great video and reaction as always.

This song is a masterpiece where instruments do most of storytelling. Starts with the Big Bang and at the end to here in present day.

In case you didn’t know, that’s Brooks f’n Wackerman. What an epic drummer for this band who already had the perfect drummer for their sound RIP Jimmy but much respect to Brooks

Agreed with you about their earlier stuff. Waking the Fallen and City of Evil are very expansive and creative, and The Stage i think is a return to the that form. Great reaction, definitely earned my clicks.

Look up the meaning of the song. It parallels the history of the world from creation to present (and future).

I must say, i was so exited and thrilled when you say "my name" and you would react to my suggestion! Fun! Glad you enjoyed, and hope i havent poisoned the well so to speak, in regards to future suggestions. Always interesting, as well as educational hearing your to cents on songs. Wanted to purpose a different song, not only in general but from A7X. This made my day, never stop doing reactions! :) Yes David.. "these names".. hahaha

Great reaction David! I was looking forward to this one after hearing you give your opinion on longer songs before and how you fell out of love with Dream Theater and prog rock in general. This is one of those songs where the band lets the music do most of the storytelling cuz the transitions in the music represent: the creation of the universe, earth, and man. I'm pretty sure the vocals not coming in until around 6 minutes was a message about how we are not the center of the universe and the universe existed long before humans. I don't agree with everything Neil DeGrasse Tyson said at the end of the song but I understand that part being added in.

Enjoyed your reaction immensely as always. I found the take interesting of this being simpler than AVENGED’s earlier music considering it is such a complex song. Would be interested to hear your thoughts on that further.

I really appreciate your comprehensive reactions as I am not a musician. Your takes make me appreciate what it takes to create a song. I do have to say, the drumming in this song is the all-star. I actually liked the song as a departure from their other music.

I think the big problem is that people usually suggest the more commercial tracks from A7X or their longer songs which people automatically label them as "MASTERPIECES" which many times are good but not GREAT.
"The Stage" , "Paradigm" , "Second Heartbeat" , "Not Ready To Die" , "Shepherd of Fire" , "Almost Easy" , "Unbound (The Wild Ride)" - all of these are great technical songs by them. Pick 1 of these and I guarantee you'll like it.
Besides A7X, I'd love to see you react to any of these:
    La Dispute - "King Park"
Between The Buried and Me - "Ants of the Sky"
    The Human Abstract - "Faust"
Bring Me The Horizon - "Parasite Eve"

A7X, do have newer tecnical songs imo, that also require some effort on stage, i think maybe its just because they discovered more and more they was good at easy going songs also, so it becomes more a mix, of really tecnical, and beautiful emotional stuff.. i think its more like because A7X just did get a wider range at talented sides, some might get the idea its easier tracks.

I would like you to react to ”I am” from band Theocracy. It is 11 minutes long but it changes and never feels empty or repetitious. It’s propably the the best mixed song i’ve ever heard.
But if you want to hear a shorter song from them, check out ”On eagles wings, Hide in the fairytale or The masterstoryteller” They are just as good. Waiting for your reaction

The Stage replaced The Who's Quadrophenia as best album ever for me. Never thought it would happen ...

intro: there is nothing as space is empty. then bam the bang happens. pure insanity gasses come together and molecules form exploding heating forming dissipating, only to make new elements. things start to calm down a little. then the first stars start to form. then planets. then things calm down in our neck of the woods where nothing happens. then life forms humans come along and shooting stuff into space. then the speech from Tyson.

did you prefer this or save me? also, didn't you find the 3 minutes long Neil DeGrasse Tyson speech kind of annoying? it makes the ending sound so repetitive. The first 7 minutes are a masterpiece tho.

I think you missed the point of the song by far. There is a reason why this masterpiece is long and has some repetition but also so many switch ups. They orchestrated very carefully every section. Its a musical narration of how our universe was created from beginning until now. I'm sure someone will comment the exact timestamps with the universe creation process and human evolution they are portraying. Thats why first thing you hear is a space like environment and then Matt's vocals come so late in the song, cause they dont come until chronically humans start to exist. Up to the point where you have Neil Degrass Tyson at the end talking about the cosmos and humanity with a mind blowing monologue.
