I don’t necessarily think our opinion that “it looks like it doesn’t care when it’s bitten by seals” is proof that they don’t have pain receptors. They have extremely rigid bodies (their skin is so hard it’s considered an exoskeleton) so they can’t twist and turn and thrash around to shake off the seal, and also, they’re really slow and can’t really swim away. On top of that, they can’t even really close their beak/mouth, meaning they just have “one facial expression” to us. None of that means they don’t feel pain.

They're EXTREMELY rare. I've seen most semi-exotic fish (excluding deep sea fish) but has yet to "sea" a Mola Mola and I dive and snorkel many times a month
Simon i go a few times during the summer, I'm still hopeful. It's in my bucket list also the giant manta Ray's and whale sharks.
I have bumped into them quite a few times in Cape Cod. They hang out a few miles off Chatham in the summer. At least the times I have seen them
