The most impressive thing in this match to me is Emulsifier's durability. How it took such a massive beating and remained fully funtional (aside from some shredded track) is unbelievable.
Reese. Hear me out. Omnidirectional drive exists. Cool. Sooooo. Your bot uses both vertical and horizontal spinners. Here's my 2 cents. If you can combine the two like an omnidirectional weapon..... Choose your angle of attack both drive and weapon. I'll leave the rest to team whyachi
@JustinWilliams-ed2ug Oh I don't know how I missed that I feel silly. When your right your right i hope fusion gets figured out as is then cuz it is a sweet design just runs hot with two weapons BUT when it's figured out it will be glorious
If you gotta lose, then this is the way to do it. I'd imagine this fight gives as many kudos with the selection committee as an easy win would've done.
3:55 I love how Team Whyachi is genuinely jaw-drop shocked by the result (maybe not Reese as much). Goes to show how close this result was in everybody's mind.
Funny enough, even tho fusion bursted into flames (yet again) this time it wasn't the speed controllers as every time before, instead, emulsifier punctured a hole in fusion, damaging a battery which caused the fire 🔥 So yeah! This time it wasn't fusion's fault
@@mhoffman52 They're spread out so that if there is a fire, it doesn't destroy all *eighteen* batteries it runs on. Also, Fusion is extremely compact. You can't fit a lot spaghetti in it.
Emulsifier looks great, having watched their featherweight robot on NHRL it’s great to see a upscale heavyweight compete. And Fusion with their drum/horizontal combo and catching fire regardless of it winning or losing. This was a bonkers fight that had a main event feel to it.
I remember being at Treasure Island and wondering if the scene and sport were ever going to be better than they were in those days, and I'm so very pleased to see how far things have come. Not just the robots and the teams, but the overall production and the fans devotion are both remarkable. Well earned kudos to literally every single person involved.
Well after 20 years you would expect the robots to be more durable, better built, and more damaging thanks to tech advancement and easier accessibility to said tech. The downside (in my viewpoint) is that most modern robot designs are becoming homogenous and saturated. Everyone mostly looks the same and has the same general profile from afar with one or two exceptions. I blame the fact that there is an established meta now compared to 20 years ago, when people just built whatever. People who care about winning over having fun will take on the same basic wedge shape with the same lifter/spinner loadout, enclosed wheels, and either a srimech or invertibility. Its boring but, its also practical and it gets results. Fancy, funny, or glamorous-looking robots are not really popular anymore.
This has to be one of the best fights I have ever seen! Awesome job guys! This is why I love watching Battle Bots, put your heart and soul into your best bot and then put it all on the line to prove your might.
An incredible spinner on spinner match! I either want an explosive killing match or a back and forth brawl and this fits the latter category amazingly!
Amazing fight! It's always a great show when two bots are well matched in reliability and weapon power. The fact that they kept running for so long (especially Emulsifier) really shows how much work has been put in to keep them reliable even after taking so much damage.
Had the honor of seeing this fight live in October, I believe during session 2. An instant classic to add to the collection, and another good choice if you’re trying to get someone new into BattleBots. I would say “fight of the season,” but Week 4 is about to throw a contender in the ring for that title… 😜
@@ExplosiveRobotics (sigh) apparently I misremembered the Black Dragon/Monsoon fight. Last night’s match was way less exciting than I thought it was. I apologize for getting your hopes up 😅
Emulsifier is seriously durable. That weapon never died. Can't wait to see what they can do in future matches. As for Fusion I think they could win the Giant Nut this year. This fire was caused by battle damage, not the speed controllers it's infamous for. Spoilers for the current newest episode; They may have lost against Witch Doctor but they brought their A game. The selection committee will weigh that fight in their favor despite the loss
I remember when bots could be flipped and it was a problem. Love the engineering on the newer ones. Seems like they are able to keep going in any position.
Awesome to watch, Emulsifier was a little slow to spin up, but knowing Adam and Bots FC that thing will be DEADLY once the opening fight jitters are worked out.
I love watching BattleBots! And I'm 59! I also love watching the mass destruction of the fights. I want TKO's and fires and flips to the roof, lol. I don't want the judges to decide, I want it to end in one being counted out or completely broken. 💕🤯🤖🤖
That was so epic! I was jumping off my chair watching this. Thanks for posting this one, it's what BB is all about. Now put BB back on broadcast TV so I can watch it. Not everyone can get streaming services.
Amazing fight, props to both teams. Goes to show just how dangerous a bot like Fusion, that has both horizontal and vertical weapon capability at the same time, can be. It's very hard to counter, if you run a wedge, you loose the ground game to it's vert, if you run forks, the horizontal obliterates them. Fusion might or might not quite be ready to take the giant nut this year, but I predict by the next season the bot that wins will have horizontal and vertical capability in match with either a twin weapon system like Fusion, or a single weapon that can change orientation on the fly
That was awesome. The damage ended up being slightly in Emulsifier's favor (imo), but Fusion had the control and aggression almost the entire fight (again, imo).Still, that really came down to the wire at the end there. Even a little more damage on either side could have ended with a KO. Amazing fight. Truly well done on both sides.
@@nocanseegreen3845 Actually this fire was due to Emulsifier puncturing a bit into Fusions batteries. They explained this in a post fight review of the match.
Also it doesn't matter in the current judges guidelines. Successful attacks help a bot's aggression score but the damage score is purely on what state the bots are in at the end of the match regardless of how it happened. In this case emulsifier had bust drive whilst fusion had bust weapon and reduced drive which should've led the judges to a 3-2 score though 4-1 on the basis of the additional battery/internal damage may have been possible.

Wicked fight great job to both teams. My gut felt Emulsifier won because Fusion catching on fire just fekt like it took more damage, but I can see how Fusion got more quality hits on Emulsifier and had more control and aggression to win the judges decision.
This is nuts emulsifier with one tread three wheels and most of the body missing against the remains of fusion from the whyatchi camp smoking indoors that's a fine for sure with flames intermittently popping out and neither are close to dying
I thought Fusion would struggle as a result of allotting weight to 2 weapons instead of having a single, more powerful weapon. Cool to see it do so well!
Not a good call. Anyone with a pair of eyes could see both weapons on Fusion were knocked out, while Emulsifiers was still working. Fusion was BARELY moving and buring up, where the only major issue with Emulsifier was the loss of treads. Bad call from the judges, but nothing new there.🤨

Reese. Hear me out. Omnidirectional drive exists. Cool. Sooooo. Your bot uses both vertical and horizontal spinners. Here's my 2 cents. If you can combine the two like an omnidirectional weapon..... Choose your angle of attack both drive and weapon. I'll leave the rest to team whyachi

One of the best fights I have ever seen. Massive credit to both teams.
You got that right. It fit the bill 110%.
I agree. Watched Robot Wars for years and bits of Battle Bots but I never saw 2 going at it like that for such a long time.
This fight was easily the most fun I've had in a loss.
Yooo it's the Wrigley Bros
Kudos to your team for putting up an incredible fight, surviving that initial onslaught and nearly pulling off the comeback.

I must applaud you.
I've rarely seen a bot THIS much durable.
Your opponent was literally up in flames. I don't see how that counts as a loss. They were burning.
There are three things certain in life.
Death, taxes and Fusion going on fire
Maybe they should rename the bot Chernobyl?
