I really enjoyed that. I’ve not seen good comparisons BETWEEN different flexibles before. I have 2 spools of MakerGeeks MakerFlex which is a semi-Flex. I’d like to it, but of course they are gone now. I generally have to print the first few layers really slow. It is cool that you can vary the amount of infill to change how the object is completed. I’ve made some great practical prints with the material. Phone holder for my car, sound dampener for my car, purse insert for my wife, etc.

Good stuf! Flexibles are a combination of fun and frustration. One thing you might try is, loosen up the grip on the Bondtech gears for the softer filaments. The gears can dig in, and make the filament more prone to getting wrapped up. On the really soft stuff, it might be a light enough touch that PLA will not even work. But I have had good luck with this, and think I first read the idea somewhere in Prusa's documentation.

Just started testing flexibles on my direct drive (bmg clone) cr10s. So far had success extrudr medium flex and fiberlogy fiberflex 30D (really stretchy compared to extrudr medium). 200-210 hotend, 60 bed, 40-50mm/s (20-25wall) and retractions at 3.4mm at 25mm/s. Printing phil-a-ment right now in fiberflex 30D at 80% size with 3 perimiters and no infill.

In a review of HTPLA Joel "3D Printing Nerd" Telling explained that the path through the nozzle isn't straight and has a widening that causes HTPLA to fail as well. I can't wait for the next instalment on flexibles :) Excellent video, thanks.

First, I love your content, but I feel like with flexibles the strength is mechanical/engineering properties, you have a few different tests but it seems like the benchy and the vase are the highlight. Is there a way to introduce something engineering oriented like stretching them with a clamp or barbell or smashing them in a vise or running over a perfect cube with a car, or smacking them a few times with a hammer see if the splinter or separate. LOL I am having fun but also being serious, I think people who are into trying invent the next "thing" would love to see flexibles pushed to their limits in a different light.

I do recommend blue painters tape (with no heat) as by FAR for printing flexibles on. They peel off like a sticker and have a nice finish texture on the bottom. Give it a try next time you print something flexible.

The Fillamentum stuff is some of the worst filament I've ever used.

@@ChrisRiley Yeah it looks like you had problems with it as well. The two main problems were: 1. It just extruded really poorly, like it was sticking to the nozzle itself, and 2. my hobbed bolt didn't grip onto the filament particularly well.

@@ChrisRiley Yo chris I run all of my legally acquired movies through something like this for audio:
      ffmpeg -hide_banner -loglevel error -i FILEINPUT.mkv -map_metadata -1 -map_chapters -1 -c:v copy -af "pan=stereo|FL=FC+0.30*FL+0.30*BL|FR=FC+0.30*FR+0.30*BR, compand=0|0:1|1:-70/-70|-60/-20|1/0:4:0:-1:0" -c:a aac -b:a 256k outputfile.mkv
It brings the highs lower and the lows higher it tries to even out everything around the 0dB however it doesn't fully compress it, just like a 50% - 70% compress
You can switch the -c:a to flac too I guess then it'll be a lossless conversion & let youtube do the lossy conversion
