The thing is- he likely DID win the race on merit. He likely DID deserve it and he likely would have won even without the interference.
But the fact there WAS interference from someone who was known to be nuisance before left a bitter taste in peoples mouths and created uncertainty and “what if?”.
It didn’t help that he claimed it was racism when the backlash hit.
Kind of a weird claim of racism since the people celebrated Cholimo.
i was in the stadium that night and i must admit i booed him as much as anyone else, but now i have my doubts if he deserved it

Your country cheated and disgraced itself in front of the entire world. It doesn’t matter if Skah was a willing participant or not.
You win as a team, you lose as a team, and you cheat as a team. Your “Olympians” should’ve been chased to the airport and had their stolen medals sent by mail.

The crowd is totally out of order. Skah won the race fairly. Boutayeb had been called a "nuisance" by track pundits even before this race, as he had ruined a world record attempt in the past. It was even said that the only reason Boutayeb was named to the Moroccan team at all was because he won a Gold Medal at the Goodwill Games in 1990, regardless of his fitness in 1992. People like Skah and Said Aouita paved the way for many more famous Moroccan distance runners to come, in particular Hicham El Guerrouj who still holds the world record in the mile. Skah is one of the all-time greats.

Un act passé sans punition pck il s'agit de l 'Espagne qui ne saisse jamais de considérer le Maroc comme un ennemi à cause de l histoire et de bcp d choses
Normalment la cérémonie doit être refaite pour rendre hommage à notre champion olympique après toute ces années avec des excuses officielles de l' Espagne
