It is all a matter of what a Christian does with his God-given time. When God tells us to number our days and so apply our hearts to wisdom - then we must consider every wasted hour that we can never retrieve. I see this more clearly now I have reached the age of 73. Surely, then, if you call entertainment "secular" it cannot be spiritual. And if it is not spiritual - then of what use is it to the Christian? Today we are being "entertained to death." Entertainment is only for the unsaved - because they have nothing else to do with their time. They are mostly bored stiff and need something to fill up their hours until they die and meet their Maker. Entertainment equates to worldliness - from which we are to flee. Our televisions are great windows on the world - they depict and promote ungodliness, sexual immorality, homosexuality, divorce, lies, deception, covetousness etc. etc. Even our lovely nature programmes are brought to us by atheists who despise the God of Creation. Even if there is nothing inherently wrong with the type of pastime that you have chosen - if it is not spiritual - then it is just a waste of time. If we are born again - then we are now spiritual beings - and not of this world. Therefore, the things of this world should not appeal to us. If they do - then we need to repent. Consider each hour that God has given to you - and discuss with Him what you should do with it. Would you rather spend it in prayer, reading God's Word, watching Godly videos like this, and witnessing to the lost? Or would you rather waste it on video games, social media, TV, radio, watching movies, and reading depressing newspapers? This is called 'Distraction Addiction.' Here is a good message on overcoming this .... ua-cam.com/video/ubXr6Uo495c/v-deo.html
Video games worldly? Answer the question yourself, make your decision, based off biblical truth or your own biased thoughts, and live with the consequences either way.
I agree with a lot of what you said but for sure Christians shouldn't be reading or watching things like "lord of the rings"... It promotes magic etc which is a no no... But it was a good message Brother Tim.
@@user-ph6tb3gn8j He was a devout Catholic not Christian bc there is a difference. And my first comment still stands. God speaks against Magic in The Bible. Is there not Magic used & promoted in those movies?
Bruh, that’s like saying “it’s evil to watch movies, all movies are evil”. 🙄 Even people play ice-breaker games or card/board games (uno, chess, othello, etc) at church.
@@streetpreacher8023 You forgot not all movies involve acting / are fiction, there are documentary movies & educational movies about animals, plants, social issues, historical footages, etc. Same as games, there are plenty of educational games and harmless games. Things like movies, games, books are only tools.. which people can use for good or for evil.
