I travelled through Bosnia by car from northern Croatia to Montenegro: visited Jajce and Mostar. Slept 2 days in Sarajevo and had no feeling unsafety. Greetings from Belgium
Yes, because you were 2 days in Sarajevo. If you lived here like local residents you would understand why they say its unsafe. Im not saying its all bad but this city (I was born in) has to many crappy stuff happening. From people trying to do pity cons on daily basis to rude and judgemental. It's more the mentality of people then city itself that is making this living hell. Im not going to go into details but trust me, as person who has been born and raised there, when i tell you its better to move out.
@@tawseeftaher9109 Hm alright. To start with I was born in Bosnia, center of Sarajevo to be exact so what I'll say is purely based on experience and experience that my friends had. When you live in Bosnia, if you travel by public transport you have to keep eye and tight grip on all your personal items because people would often pit-pocket (I think this is word but sorry i forgot - steal). It happened to 2 of my friends (one got her wallet stolen and other one phone). Few times I personally saw someone stealing stuff from strangers pocket in bus but it was so crowded that by the time I managed to get to person to warn them it was late. This leads me to next problem (which i think its most annoying one honestly) when you report your stolen items police literally doesnt do anything, they dont even talk to you about problem. Another case, in my street there is a man who is mentally challenged (sorry if anyone is triggered by this word but he was diagnosed by professionals) and dangerous. He lives right across my house so i've seen everything what i'm about to say: 1 time he abused his wife, beated her till point she had to go to surgery because her life was in danger (i still have vivid picture in my head how she looked when ambulence came, urgh), 2nd time - few years ago - he opened fire on his neighbor but lucky man managed to stop him before he killed his family. 3rd time (houses across mine are build like 2 stories, for 2 families - like house on house - dont know how to explain it better) he attacked and managed to do the damage to his upstairs neighbor with blow to head with rock. 4th time he went with knife at my friend who lives on opposite site at 6am but lucky i saw him thru window and called her not to go out, since she was getting ready to go for work. Cant imagine what would happen if i didnt see him on time. People say he done more then that but i'm just mentioning what I saw. In ALL of that police did LITERALY nothing. No jail time, no fine nothing. They came few times gave him "slap on wrist" and thats it. Lucky for all of us he has finally after years and years been taken to lunatic institution. When you go to Ilidza or Center you are always judged, sadly I notice every single detail. Like for example, for past weeks i've been getting comments like (sorry for words): "Look at theese booobs daamn", "that aaas" and stuff like that. Basically what i'm wearing most of times are normal regular jeans (with maybe chains sometimes) and crop-tops which to be honest cant even be called crop-tops. I'm out a lot during day and i notice how people look at others who are even slightly different in their look. I see how they shake heads and whisper between themself with look of disgust. This happens so often, not only to me or my friends but to others as well. Second thing, you literally cant say your non-religious in Bosnia, that's like untold law. I'm and atheist who goes by moto "respect mine i'll respect yours", i dont hate religion its just not for me that's all. If you say your non-religious here they will behave like you've grown 3 heads. Literally I had people call me satanist which is far away from truth. I also have non-religious friends who told me same, how they are afraid to say they dont believe. Like, why cant they respect my choice since i try to respect theirs as well? Next thing, you cant, and i mean not even in milion years get a job if you dont have connections. I'm not even joking, if you dont have connection of some sort (doesnt matter political or with friend who knows someone who is owner of company) you are unemployed, and been unemployed here means your basically dead. Noone sees you as person or takes you. I've experience this when i was unemployed but lucky one of my college classmates helped me since she had connections (i'm making my own now haha, anyway). Just to say these are only few of things i've personally experienced on my own skin and there are more but if i start writing more I think i'll be here for next whole day. Been in different country for 2 days or even 2 months doesn't give accurate preception of what life truly is in Bosnia. Anyone can go to any country for short days/months and say it's fantastic when in reality for it's residents it's horrible. Sarajevo as city is indeed beautiful but mentallity of people is what it's bringing city down. Again, what I wrote here is purely based on my own experience and experience from my friends, not from "i think" or "he said, she said". It's actually as safe as any tipical europian city(maybe even safer, because it is a smaller city as well) - just have some common sense, don't wander to some dark alleys at night, and don't put your wallet and phone in back pocket while strolling throught city- that is just asking for trouble, but these rules are not spesific for sarajevo, you should behave like that in any city really. As a local, and a girl, I feel really safe walking alone around the city, even at night(at night i just like to be in the city center, because its the safest, and anywhere where streets have lights and people you should be as safe as during the day). Great video🤗i really like that you asked a local for an opinion about this❤️
It is safe, as someone who spent all my life in Sarajevo, now I am around the europe and living in Italy currently. Sarajevo is more safe than cities in Italy tbh and other big cities in Europe.

Its unbelievable how many "locals" especially females, cannot explain our city better and they are all too shy. I believe thats in our culture unfortunately. Now, what means safe? I am feeling always safer in Sarajevo than in some of EU cities (Berlin, Munich, Paris, London..). Also I believe that if you are alone and you are girl, you would everywhere feel certain fear at midnight and at 1AM.. as there is no one to help you. But what I can say in Sarajevo, that many people-guys would help you if you scream at the street, or if they see that someone for some reason is attacking you. To be honest, unfurently if you are looking good, mans will always comment you, hit on you or something similar, but not to aggressively, they will just do (if you are alone) PS Girl that told you in hotel that it is not safe is just our mentality, and most of them didn't visit other cities to feel what is really not safe. In Sarajevo, some people are considering thats not safe if you have people which are taking your wallet (trying) in a silently way. But you have that in every village in whole world. So they are just scaring tourist like you, and then you are thinking that you cannot go out because somenone will kill you. The point is that they want just to be smart and say something BTW. Thanks for the video about great city.
I hope you are well. I belong to Pakistan and I am texting you on your channel for the first time and I also have a heartfelt opinion. Yes, I saw it and my heart was saying that I should apply for a visit visa to enter. Thank you so much.

Peace & Love 💕
I love Bosnian people..i remembered my days spent in one year stay over there..in Sarajevo and Doboj.zavidovici
1st I like to say you are glorious Byanca and I love Europe with its old buildings and history. I’ve been to Europe but only Western European but love to check out Sarajevo and many more.
Great video🤗i really like that you asked a local for an opinion about this❤️
Thank you for the comment, I really appreciate it 😊🤗🙏
It is safe, as someone who spent all my life in Sarajevo, now I am around the europe and living in Italy currently. Sarajevo is more safe than cities in Italy tbh and other big cities in Europe.
@@sull5307 that is what I am talking about. True is that my friend. All commercials about other countries in Europe or even other continents are not realistic. There is much more in "the perfect" countries but they hide it and they don't talk about it.
Nice to listen

Nice 🇧🇦♥️🇩🇿 Beautiful country, nice and peaceful people
Now Sarajevo is not very safe because of the refugees, but before tham its was safe city
Refugees only are selling tissues. They are not dangerous at all because our Bosnian police is watching them closely plus in the capital refugees are not aggressive type. We Bosnians often feel sad for them and buy them food or give them some money.

Great idea to interview the locals ... their perspectives matter
Looking so pretty. God bless you and your family
Moja omiljena zemlja je Bosna i Hercegovina, volim te
Its unbelievable how many "locals" especially females, cannot explain our city better and they are all too shy. I believe thats in our culture unfortunately. Now, what means safe? I am feeling always safer in Sarajevo than in some of EU cities (Berlin, Munich, Paris, London..). Also I believe that if you are alone and you are girl, you would everywhere feel certain fear at midnight and at 1AM.. as there is no one to help you. But what I can say in Sarajevo, that many people-guys would help you if you scream at the street, or if they see that someone for some reason is attacking you.
To be honest, unfurently if you are looking good, mans will always comment you, hit on you or something similar, but not to aggressively, they will just do (if you are alone)
PS Girl that told you in hotel that it is not safe is just our mentality, and most of them didn't visit other cities to feel what is really not safe. In Sarajevo, some people are considering thats not safe if you have people which are taking your wallet (trying) in a silently way. But you have that in every village in whole world. So they are just scaring tourist like you, and then you are thinking that you cannot go out because somenone will kill you. The point is that they want just to be smart and say something
BTW. Thanks for the video about great city.
Well and true written bro.
Nihade sta si napao na zene, de ohani malo :)
A great thing You do, Thank You for visiting Bosnia
Thank you for supporting 🙏
I never had any problems in this town.living here for years

Hi from Morocco 🇲🇦
I recently visited Sarajevo twice and it was amazing and totally safe.
short answer : no
long answer : noooooo
Bosnia is safer than most countries in the world!
I hope you are well. I belong to Pakistan and I am texting you on your channel for the first time and I also have a heartfelt opinion. Yes, I saw it and my heart was saying that I should apply for a visit visa to enter. Thank you so much.
What is the best time to visit Bosania ?
summer. It is too rich in nature and rivers
Lamija🙊🤦🏼♂️ pocket thieves in trams or subways are inevitable but that's far from having ''a lot of thieves''. It's not my intention to portray Sarajevo as some kind of saint but compared to mega cities like Berlin or Paris etc. Sarajevo is harmless. There if you end up in a wrong alley at night... !
I was married to a Bosnian girl from Travnik, had a fierce temper but as she was smoking hot I put up with it for 14 years. Suffice to say it ended badly she got fat and I got lazy.
Koja li je iz Travnika hahahaha?

Very sad that so many of my Bosniak brothers are acting like the aggression on Bosnia never happened, the Srebrenica Genocide and thousands of Bosniak women and young girls were RAPED in brutal ways, and 1992-1995 was not the only time this evil happened to Bosniaks ,my people still trust them,I am disappointed.Sad,very sad.

Bravo Byanca come back again you are welcome :*
Thank you for the wonderful video. I look forward to visiting Sarajevo in the future.

So cool and you’re so pretty hope to see you around sarajevo
Love Bosnia from Pakistan 💯😍😍
The best with Bosnia is the people for sure.
The answer is Yes. Only thing that foreign girls should avoid is ANY deal with drug-dealers as first, and deeper politic and religion talks as second.
Enjoy!

Why do you always have to go to that Bas Carsija? There are much more beautiful places like Vilsonovo setaliste, Marijin Dvor, Ilidza, Vrelo Bosne and particularly Carsija is full of thieves! Organized crime is all of Carsija. There are better places to go out in Titova and Bjelave as well.

Cool cat, guitar, and well edited, nice artful composition, cheers
Any place can be dangerous if you're not careful.
