Huztl G366 Stihl MS361 Diagnose Plugged Fuel Tank Vent

This is a diagnose method to identify a plugged or partially plugged tank fuel vent on the Huztl G366 and Stihl MS361, as well as many other chainsaws and 2 stroke motors. Once the diagnose is complete, then you can watch the repair video to change a bad fuel tank vent.

I have a stihl ms 360 pro. Bought new in 02’ would love to find a replacement handle that’s metal. I broke the original, they wanted $85 in 04’ for a new plastic one, so I repaired it myself. Still holding today too!! But, since then I’m paranoid it’ll break. I’ve got many other saws but this is still my lightweight powerhouse for small bucking and de-limbing. Good stuff with vent fix here( I watched the repair vid too). Saw repair has always been a necessity for me as a climber, but I always defer to the experts with complex issues. I’m sub’d!

I believe my 440 magnum is doing the same thing. I suspected the vent. It will pull fuel into the cylinder after shutting it off while just sitting there. That causes it to flood and hard to start back. Thanks for the info!

Maybe releasing the fuel cap after it is hot will let you know if it has excess pressure. Usually after shutdown they will get hotter for a little while before they start to cool down,.temporarily causing expansion in the tank. Good luck with it.

I’ve got a g660 that needs 2 1/2 turns to run reasonably pressure vac tested 3 Times any ideas ? Same for my 361 kit but 2 3/4 turns
