My old Manor, my Nan was bombed out of Evelyn Street, moved again and bombed out again, ended up in Brookbank Road below Hilly Fields. I have seen many films on here about Deptford and l must admit many are a bit too painful to watch. I have not lived in the UK for over 30 years, l don't miss it, l get told about everything that goes on, now l have no living family and at 75 every day is a bonus. Proud that l was born there in that area maybe yes but when you are old you have more to suck up than feeling proud, your family matter more to you now than they did then and you now know that what your family members told you has come true so sometimes the proud feeling gets washed away with the tears.
