I am having problems to assembly this lens because I did not made the marks you did at 4:57 (the unscrewing was faster than I though and I could not fin that point anymore in my lens). Any tip on how can I find this point? It looks really hard to put then together, even with a lot of white grease. Thank you, love your channel, mate!

Hi Leo, that's unfortunate, the only way to get it back right is to do trial and error. Start by setting the focus ring to infinity, put some painter's tape on the barrel and mark in red each time the point helicoid gets in, so you can proceed by elimination until you reach the right one. Cheers.

The helicoid is screwed all the way down and fused it will not turn out at all. I have the lens fully disassembled, I was able to remove the optical block from the helicoid but not able to remove the helicoid from lens body. Do you have any suggestions? I'm not even sure what direction I should be turning it, I assume counter clockwise?

Hi, if it is really blocked, I recommend to strip parts as much as possible and then add some lighter fluid to disolve the old grease. About the direction, by memory, counter clockwise, but I may be wrong. Cheers.

I have a Topcon with a frozen focusing ring. You did very well here with this Nikkor but this is beyond my capability and if do on my lens, I may damage something. Do you accept a repair service on old manual lenses to unfreeze the focusing helicoid ring?

Yes, that can be done, depending on your location, not worth if it is going to cost more in shipping and repair than the lens itself, or giving it to a local repairman.

I opened, clean and regreased both the inner and outer helicoid but it is still very stiff, any idea why?

The hardness is it regular? or variable?, if variable, maybe one of the rings is deformed. Do the rings turn freely independently?
